Went in for a hair cut and got one of the worst cuts of my life. I'm a guy with medium length hair and the stylist only took about 10 minutes and didn't bled anything and left one side of my hair longer than the other. Super convenient experience. Easy to use sign up function to reserve your spot, affordable pricing, and a pretty chill environment overall. These are not the best haircuts with the cleanest fades that I've ever gotten in my life, but that's not what I'm expecting when I need a last minute haircut for 20 bucks. For the price the haircut is solid, looks good, and I've been complimented on it afterwards. If you really hit it with some scrutiny you can find what are, to me at least, minor issues and nothing glaring. By far one of the worst salon experiences. I asked for a scissor cut. The stylist, an older Oriental lady, said no. After several minutes of discussion, I agreed to use clippers. That was a mistake. She was not meticulous and I had to ask her several times to even out the cut. I left the salon extremely disappointed and she knew it. Never going back. read more

They butchered my hair. I had collar bone length hair and I came in asking for a chin length feminine bob and got a chop job to my ears. I look like a boy. This is not what I asked for. My twentieth birthday is coming up in less than a week and I start a new job on Tuesday. This is inexcusable. I trusted the 4.4 star Google review and regret my decision horribly. I don't feel comfortable going in public, I've lost all my confidence. I feel this chop job is worse than a buzz cut. It's more than an inch shorter than what I wanted and uneven and choppy as all get out. 0/5 stars. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! read more

I've been coming here recently for my cuts and hair dyes. Honestly, this little hidden place is one of the better places for a trim, and getting your roots touched up for a really good price. Nice vide, and it's pretty laid back. If you're more of an uppity person about your surroundings then maybe try another place, but for someone just there to get their hair done it's really nice. read more

The stylist was fine and did somewhat as I expected but the owner appeared as if she needed the stylist to rush me out of the store- she kept staring at me and the stylist. I got a partial highlight and a micro cut- something very simple and was charged MUCH more than advertised. The stylist apologized at check out and said she needed to charge full... as in $140! This isn't a nice salon and would have rather paid the full price for either a full highlight or somewhere else. read more

Needed a last minute haircut on a Sunday night. Was able to get in here on a walk-in when almost every other place was closed. Ja'nae was my stylist and gave a decent cut. Honestly, looks the same as almost anywhere else. But the reason for 3 stars was the environment. As soon as I walked in, I got the overwhelming feeling of not being welcome'd. The place was quiet as a mouse except for the TV. There were two other stylists working on their customers not interacting with them and completely checked out. While I'm glad they were able to get me in, I don't think I'll be back. read more

I went to this place on Friday around 4:30 pm. There wasn't too much waiting but I was greeted by Angelica. She asked me how I wanted my haircut and I specifically told her what I would like. She started with the clippers on the side and I felt like I was starting boot camp also she completely ruined the top part. Also when she was fading my sides with the clippers she was in such a rush. She was rough and almost hurt me couple times where I went "ouch". For men's haircut I would not go here again. I didn't get the professional treatment. Surprisingly I went there after reading the past good reviews. I need to go tomorrow and fix my hair somewhere else. She did a horrible job and she was insensitive to my needs. I don't how they are for the ladies. But for men's haircut I wouldn't go here again. read more

My hairstylist was the best I have ever had! She listened to every little detail about the cut I wanted. Going from long hair always in a bun, to an a-line cut... ( not a true a-line) but an a-line cut that was longer than usual, she made it happen!!! A lot of stylists anywhere else ask too many questions during the consultation resulting in something else that o did not have in mind :/... Here at proper cuts she acknowledged my commands, began to cut, and didn't finish until perfection was met!! I've never been so happy! I was highly impressed with her!!! read more

Second time here, my husband got a haircut and we really like it. I wish they brushed off all of the hair though, it was everywhere. Good haircut. I also got my eyebrows waxed and was really hesitant to get it done because I've had some horrible experiences at other places. I can't find the one girl that did it perfect... Until now. I LOVE my brows, they look symmetrical, natural and I didn't have to touch anything up when I got home. Also I love that the lady who did them didn't use piping hot wax (it was hot but not peeling skin off and leaving red marks all over my face hot). I was able to go shopping and to lunch after without feeling like everyone was staring at my brows thinking I just got a wax. Also, a wax and men's haircut was $25.00 which is really cheap considering brow Chicago charges $21.00 a wax. Now I'm bringing in my son this week for sure. read more

Went in to get my daughter a haircut, my daughter already had one in mind. The stylist was very nice, and explained that the hairstyle she chose would be fairly high maintenance. She made a suggestion and my daughter went with it, ended up loving it and can't stop talking about it. Got a partial blonde highlight from Suki, which was amazing! She and the other stylist who was in training did an amazing job with the highlight, the trim and the style. I paid $110 for the partial and trim which is fair since my hair is really long, and I would say that is cheaper than most salons. The shampoo was amazing, got a nice scalp massage. Will definitely be making this my go-to hair place. read more

I have gone there a couple of times now. The first time I stopped by the Proper Cuts for a quick bangs trim. Ladies working there were very nice and were able to accomodate me right away (I was a walk in). They did a great job for a very resonable price. Second time, my husband needed a haircut as he just got home after working out of town and looked rough to say the least :-) Again, we did a walk in, again the stylist was very nice and did a very good job. My husband is never happy with his haircuts, but this time around he said he will be going there again. He recently took our 9 year old boy for a haircut too. If your family likes to wear hats, this is the place for you. 2 of us went there. We were charged more than we were told when we walked in. My cut is so bad, I'll have to wear a hat everyday and even around the house to cover it to it grows back. The other... well, we will try to fix it. If there was a way to give less than one star,I would. I went in for a trim. The stylists argued over who would handle my hair. The lady who did declined to wash my hair because she said my hair was still damp from my shower earlier in the morning, yet it was evening time. I was there for a grand total of five minutes, she cut a whopping inch off my hair,maybe less, and the cost? $20. And my hair was uneven, which she said was me holding my mirror crooked...That was after she said she wouldn't charge me the "full" price since I wasn't having my hair shampooed and conditioned. I shudder to think what the price would have been. The fact my mother raised me to be polite was the only saving grace. Shame on me for not asking how outrageously overpriced this salon was when then promotional ad said cuts starting at $14.99. I stupidly assumed a TRIM would be less, or at the very least, the same. It was an awkward, expensive, uncomfortable experience I would wish upon no one, unless you have a proclivity for awful service, in which case, this is the hair salon for you. read more
