I needed a change. It's so easy to be frumpy over 50. So I thought I would try Misfits since it looked kind of badass. I scheduled with Nee. My first impression of the salon was that it was spotless and full of very interesting art. I did have to wait a few minutes for my appointment but in the end I know this is because Nee is very detailed and careful about ensuring an excellent cut and after all it was Saturday. Nee gave me a really excellent consultation and we discussed my wishes at length. We agreed to a game plan prior to my cut which was a fairly big departure from my existing haircut. Nee took her time and consulted with me about length along the way. In the end I got a really look changing haircut that was styled impeccably. It enhanced my existing color, and made me feel like a million bucks. I watched all the other stylists also working on their clients, and it seems like there's a really competent group in here. Sometimes it's hard to find a salon with really skilled practitioners, but I think this one looks excellent. I highly recommend Misfit Salon. Such beautiful people so nice and they take extreme care of you. They will find time in their busy schedule to make it right. I would like to say everyone there was very pleasant. I found them here on Yelp, I talked with some lady who I explained that I had professional dye in my hair and wanted to go lighter. She said she would put me with someone who's a professionalist in color. When I get there she didn't seem confident so she did a test strand. It didn't change much. Her reaction was I'm sorry we won't be able to do anything without damaging ur hair. U should stay black. I was quite disappointed, she asked if I wanted a cut, I said trim. My trim costed me $75. Was blown away, I expected $50 but not $75. Plus I tipped her a $20. I left very disappointed cause other stylist that I could have gone with said they could do it but I went with them! I had a very terrible experience at this salon. I called and asked for an experienced stylist that was great with color, they told me no problem, we have that here. At my appt I learned the young girl doing my hair was fresh out of school and was not experienced in color. It took her 3 hrs to put the foils in my shoulder length fine hair and this was just a partial highlight. Then after she washed my hair I looked in the mirror and was almost in tears as I saw orange streaks. I had asked for platinum highlights. Then they tried to fix it by rehighlighting it and that was a distaster just more orange! So asking for an experienced stylist is useless because people lie, second once your hair is destroyed by chemicals you have to wait months for it to grow and get healthy enough to find a new salon.! I will never ever step foot in this salon again! Beware of the owner as she's the one who lied and told me the stylist was great with color and had yrs of experience! read more

It's been over 2yrs since last hair cut. I was so nervous but Carrie was my stylist- she is super chill and totally worked with me and made ME feel like I was only one there. The trust I gained went above and beyond, as she worked with me, the chairs were comfortable as I have some medical issues. I wished everyone could be caring and understanding as Carrie. I have been on the fence about going Blonde like Gwen Stefani. My natural color looks like George Clooney silver fox. I love my natural color but I wanted a couple snaps up if you know what I mean. He got me in same day. I had a picture of my end goal color. Nothing less would make me happy. He paired me with Yari. Wow I'm glad he did.
