These are not the best haircuts with the cleanest fades that I've ever gotten in my life, but that's not what I'm expecting when I need a last minute haircut for 20 bucks. For the price the haircut is solid, looks good, and I've been complimented on it afterwards. If you really hit it with some scrutiny you can find what are, to me at least, minor issues and nothing glaring. Now that I've been here twice in a pinch I'll have them in my regular rotation when my barber isn't available!

I started my natural…read morehair journey in 2020 and since then I've had a lot of trouble finding a hair dresser that would respect my natural hair despite me requesting a curly cut and not to blow out or straighten my hair. Not Sebrina. The moment you sit in her chair, your experience will be so different from other hairdressers. The way she washes your hair to how she cuts it to how she styles it is different from any other hair dresser I've had. To leave the salon with my natural hair and not feeling like I've ruined my waves because they straightened it again is an emotional experience and she really understands that aspect as a curly/wavy haired person. I also appreciated our conversations on amount of time, training, and lengths Sebrina has gone to be able to provide this kind of service for curly/wavy haired people and in Alaska at that. She is passionate about her clientele. She loves her work and it shows and I love that! I will continue to go to her forever on out.

I learned about this place through a friend of mine, as well as a co-worker. They both told me that everyone is really sweet and suggested I try it since I was in a desperate need of a styling. So I popped in after work one day, not entirely sure if they did walk-ins or not. Maureen was there and happily greeted me. She wasn't able to get me in that night, but kindly asked if I'd be able to come back the next time she was working, which was in 2 days or suggested she schedule me for someone else the following day. I was fine with waiting the extra day since she was so nice and helpful, I even made an appointment for my boyfriend per his request (I don't tell my boyfriend he should get a haircut, if he wants to grow it out more power to him). I showed up not knowing what kind of cut I wanted or needed. I'm the worst when it comes to getting my haircut, I always tell the stylist to surprise me. I don't do it to be mean, I do it because I completely 100% trust in them, even if I've never been to them before. It's because this is their profession and they should know more about it than me, they should understand how hair-styles work on different types of face shapes, and how hair itself is all different. Maureen seems to know her stuff! She was a little surprised at me telling her to surprise me, so she started throwing out suggestions. I just told her whatever she thought would be best and the fact that it's hair and will grow back. She laughed and said alright! She did a great job, gave me some layers that added some volume, even gave me a little side bang type thing. After she finished I asked her if she had time to do my eyebrows, she was able to get me right in after cutting my boyfriends hair. She did a great job with my eyebrows and was really gentle, well as gentle as you can be while ripping hot wax off of someones face. My boyfriend has some crazy thick hair. According to him (and the floor after she was finished) she did an awesome job thinning it out and styling it for him. He was really happy with his cut.
