The automatic drive thru wash is pretty good, however the self clean bays are absolutely horrible!…read moreThe cost to start is $2. The options for spray types are limited to brush, rinse, degrease, and hot wax. The hot wax is a trick as it does not actually work. The brush only sputtered clear water with no signs of soap. The other options that were apparently there before are covered with tape or blank. In addition, the timer to warn you that your time is running low only gives you circa 30 seconds. The normal time left warning from the other self wash locations have always been the standard 60 seconds. I would HIGHLY recommend the other self wash location, Hastings Laser Wash at 1530 S. M-37, Hastings, MI. If you don't, you will be disappointed.

While she was there, she also decided to have her cabin air filter replaced. $100 later we now have a car that has 12 quarts of oil in it. They NEVER drained the old oil before refilling with 6 more quarts of Mobile One. At this point we do not know the old oil had not been drained out, so, after the oil change was "Complete", my wife started the car, and immediately noticed the car idling rough. Prior to leaving, two separate times she notified two of the employees working (Jake being one of them) they dismissed her claim and told her she just needed a tune up. She then drove 10 miles home to Midddleville and called me. I was not going to be around until Monday evening, so I asked her to drop the car off at our mechanics shop in Hastings, 6.6 miles from our house in Middleville. Once the car made it to the mechanics shop, it had been driven a total of 16.6 miles with ~12 quarts of oil, it has not been moved since. Keep in mind, my wife has been coming to this location since they opened, she thought close to 20 years ago, so I didn't have any reason to not trust what she was told or have any reason to think the car would be damaged by driving it. Yesterday afternoon I called Spotless Auto at 269-945-9933 and asked for the Manager, what I got was Jake, a truly terrible employee. Over the phone I explained the car had way too much oil 4"-6" past the full on the dipstick. Jake told me this was not possible, and "there is no way a car could get filled up before it was drained out", I replied with "I don't know what to tell you, the car IS overfilled and Spotless Auto are the only people who have touched the car". I then mentioned the Google review for this company where Spotless Auto forgot to put oil back in a car, Jake didn't want to hear about Google reviews saying, "I don't care about google reviews". I then told Jake I would be there around 4:15pm so he or someone could come and see for themselves how the vehicle is in fact overfilled, then discuss what the proposal to fix this was. Around 4:45pm my wife and I arrived at spotless auto and asked for a manager. Once again, Jake was presented. Jake said he would follow us the 4.4 miles to the mechanics house. When we arrived, I popped the hood and Jake checked the dipstick. His instant defensive response was "This car did not leave my shop like this", indirectly telling me we were lying about this. I asked him who else would have added oil to an oil change that has 16.6 miles on it? He continued to repeat proper company procedure, which obviously was not followed, more than likely by him personally. I could see the conversation was going nowhere and I was going to need to talk to an owner, real manager, or such. The discussion became heated when he started pointing at my wife, literally, blaming her for "bringing in a car that had an issue before they touched it". He obviously has no common sense; I do not know a man in the world who is not going to stand up for their wife when wrongly accused. I looked at him and said "we are done here, shut your mouth, get in your truck, and get the hell out of here...It's a good thing you didn't ride here with me, I would have left you here to walk back". We then returned to Spotless Auto to get in contact with an individual who can use reason. I arrived and got the customer service "hotline" which is an answering machine. I left a message for "Hemmi". My message included many details of the events mentioned above, I requested a call back ASAP. Being that my wife has been without a car now for nearly a week, and the seriousness of the situation, I expected a call back this morning. Again, Spotless has let me down. At the end of the day, I do not believe this was done intentionally, it was a mistake. The problem is, this business does not own its mistakes, it turns blame on the customer. This place employs people who couldn't even spell accountability, let alone customer service. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee seems to be a bunch of smoke and mirrors. There is a reply in another review from the owner mentioning 13 cameras, I wonder if these recordings will be "lost" or if they will even look at the video.

I explained I booked a noon appointment and indicated I would be waiting so I didn't have time to wait an extra hour sitting here. Very frustrating to drive to an appointment that they had no intention of keeping. Two things need to change: 1.) don't allow noon appointments if techs take lunch at noon. 2.) review your scheduled appointments every night and morning and call your customers to reschedule if your not able to keep your appointments. I'm a new customer and tried to keep an open mind and come back and do the service at 1pm. But there was no apologies, discount offered or anything to acknowledge this error. Just $145 for an oil change charged. The waiting room was nice and clean. Update to owners response: There was no attempt to reach out before hand. You should audit your records closer if the team told you that. I have no missed calls emails or texts asking to reschedule before I arrived. The only text I had was a confirmation for the noon time. Don't be defensive just take feedback as a gift for improvement.

We make a Costco run, and then my battery light goes on. I call my mechanic in Chicago who tells me to get to a service station immediately. I call two places without any availability, and when I call Dykstra they said they would do their best to help. And did they ever! They got my car in right away and diagnosed the problem (my alternator). Their waiting room was peaceful, clean and quiet. We were even able to store the Costco perishables in their refrigerator! What could have been a horrific start to my birthday weekend (aka, dead car on the expressway in 90 degree heat) ended beautifully. I am so thankful for this experience!
