Unfortunately recommending an iud, and then doing an unannounced cervical biopsy right before insertion with no pain meds. Brutal is an understatement. I am a two time women's cancer survivor so connecting with a gynecologist is paramount and she fits all my needs. Her staff is very warm and welcoming as soon as you come in to the office and make you feel a part of the "family" right away.

I visited both the Westport and Milford locations, and at each office, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Throughout my pregnancy, I saw Dr. Khan, Dr. Proulx, and Dr. Murray. They are exceptional physicians -- you truly couldn't ask for better professionals. They made me feel fully supported every step of the way. The delivery of my daughter was a wonderful experience, and what meant even more was that they came to visit me afterward to check on both me and my baby. That level of care meant so much to me. A year later, I returned for my annual exam and saw Dr. Proulx again. I was so impressed by how well she understood what I was going through and how thoroughly she answered all of my questions. I wholeheartedly recommend SCWHCA!

I would rather see a clinician like her as opposed to other practices where-you see a different person every time. They can be polite and organized but not provide adequate care. Example-doctor I've never seen before does not bother to look up my lab results-asks me how the labs were-did not even look at them.(I am a retired nurse).

She's really great. She was my grandmother's PCP for many years. I could never switch to her…read morebecause my insurance wasn't accepted. Now that I have switched (new ins.), she not only remembers my family, I feel as though, I'm treated like family. She takes her time. She is thorough and careful. She explains things. I've only been seeing her for a bout a year now but I've been a few times already as I got the flu and I needed a physical. I'm also diabetic and while I see an endocrinologist regularly for that, she was very attentive to my diabetes and wants to stay updated on my endocrine appointments. As for my grandmother, when my grandma passed, it was Dr. Nwangwu's who listened to her symptoms and really investigated. She was able to help find the cause of her pain shortly before her passing. It was unexpected and the answers came as a result of the thorough labwork Nwangwu had ordered. I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes (I've visited the office probably 6 or 7 times this year) and when I had trouble initially and misunderstanding with my insurance claim, I questioned my bills and they reviewed each claim with me. I was even offered a discount on my portion since I'd felt there had been some misunderstanding regarding my insurance/initial visit. She's great.

Best GYN in the area, heck, in the state. I've been a patient of his for well over eight years, and…read moreI only left him for a short hiatus when he retired from OB. He is unbelievably knowledgable, greatly concerned with patient comfort, and gets to know each and every patient. (A rarity in the new world of huge doctor practices) He is very professional. He comes in and asks the usual questions to begin, but also asks about your day/your year. He leaves and returns with a much more detached demeanor (which is appropriate for these exams!). And afterwards takes ten to twenty minutes to chat in his office. All very comforting. His office staff is unmatched. You can call with ANY question and they will immediately place a qualified individual on the phone to help you out. If it is serious, they are quick to get you in to see the doctor. My only gripe is that he will have to retire completely at some point. Sigh.

It's rare to find a doctor who can communicate something scientifically and still genuinely sound compassionate--and I've found that in Dr. Sharpe. This was my personal experience;…read more Even if you have been a previous patient within Yale Medical for years but are a new patient with the Yale Orthopedic & Rehab, expect a long wait for an appointment, at least for Dr. Gibson anyway. Even as a prior patient of Doctor Gibson beyond three years of seeing him last you are considered a new patient. Do not be fooled by a non-existent waiting list either, every time I called there to ask if there's been a cancellation they added me to it, nor the false hope of calling daily for a possible cancelation opening as you will learn below. I've had knee pain now for several months and I scheduled an appointment with Doctor Gibson for March of 2023, acquired in November of 2022. I've made numerous calls to try and obtain an earlier appointment due to a cancellation, as directed by Yale staff when I called to schedule my original appointment. I was advised to call daily by several people that schedule appointments. On December 19, 2022, I was told there was a cancellation in January of 2023. When the receptionist learned I was a new patient, I was told "Oh sorry, you're not eligible for this appointment as a new patient." A complete contradiction to what I was advised back in November and most every time I called. How can an open appointment not be available to a patient, whether that patient is new or existing!? To say the least I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with Yale Orthopedics & Rehabilitation. Good luck to all new patients. Connecticut Orthopedics is a great alternative. Kurt T

As a result of a job that required a ridiculous amount of pushing furniture, carrying my office with me everywhere and not having a desk caused more damage than necessary. When a second shot of cortisone didn't work, Dr. Halim suggested I wear a brace to protect my wrist. In 2017 I found that surgery was the next step.
