It doesn't matter if you break a big toe, have a knee or hip replacement, fuse a disc, tear a rotator cuff...all injuries impact your whole body at some level, and the whole body system needs to be a part of the big picture when it comes time to rehab that knee, hip, shoulder, back, whatever, that has been throwing your body mechanics off. I've been in and out of PT for 30 years. I could write my own book. I've had the whole range of therapist. Most only focus on that ONE body part that needs rehabilitation, but once in a great while, I find a really great physical therapist and pain management doctor combination that view the patient as a person...someone that they truly want to be as functional as normal as possible. Understand, no physical therapist can make you whole again without you putting in the grunt work. They are your guide...your teacher...to assist you in properly making your body function properly. It is a partnership in your health. The crew at Great Basin gives you the tools and helps to make you well. They know when you need that little push to make your next milestone on your road to recovery, but are also there to help you thru any set backs. They offer a very friendly, open and relaxed environment.

The doctors we have seen have excellent bedside manner. I prefer this hospital over Carson Tahoe and will make the drive from Carson City every time as long as it stays like this.

Formal Complaint - Two Separate Incidents Incident 1 -…read moreCoerced Admission & Unauthorized Treatment While uninsured, I entered the ER requesting only to speak with a nurse. I explicitly stated I did not wish to be admitted. Despite this, staff coerced me into admission, ran tests and procedures I did not consent to, and administered medication and an IV without disclosing what they were or why. All tests were inconclusive and not helpful to me at all. I was subsequently billed $7,000 as a self-pay patient for care I neither requested nor authorized. It was opportunism at it's finest. Incident 2 - Dismissed Concerns, Inadequate Care & Radiation Safety Violation Following a car accident with serious injuries, the treating physician repeatedly dismissed my concerns and refused to order imaging. He downplayed my injuries. I was forced to beg for X-rays on my shoulder and arm. He ultimately ordered imaging on only my elbow. During the X-ray, the technician failed to use the lead radiation shield that was visibly present in the room. When I questioned this directly, the technician did not respond and left without explanation. I reported this incident to the ER supervisor on duty. I have serious concerns that this complaint was never formally documented. I am requesting a full investigation into: unauthorized treatment and informed consent violations, potential patient coercion, radiation safety protocol failures, and the integrity of the hospital's internal complaint documentation process.
