Drove 400 miles one way to find out that they won't let you buy and drive a vehicle off their lot unless you have insurance covered specifically for the newly purchased vehicle. Mind you, we already have full coverage insurance and our policy, like most policies, covers any new vehicle purchased for a grace period of 7-30 days while we finalize details with our agent (VIN and loan information mainly). For us, the next business day would have been sufficient as we had already talked with our agent who told us to provide the details on Monday after we purchased the vehicle. We showed the dealer our existing full coverage insurance but to no avail and ironically we had to show this proof of insurance to test drive the vehicle. I purchased a 2017 GMC Terrain on November 1st 2019. It had 33,000 miles on it. I really liked the car and salesperson. That clouded my judgement. Before the purchase I inquired about the distance I had to press the brake pedal to come to a stop. I was told by Brian that the brakes were at least 50% and that was just the way they were and nothing could be done. Imagine my surprise at my first oil change (3,200 miles after purchase) to be told I need brakes all the way around! 50% my foot! I'm editing my review because it shows me In San Francisco??? A "non-negotiable" dealership, with young and inexperienced staff. I would not waste your time and money here. Vehicle was priced at a fair market value (2013 Toyota Sienna Limited, priced near the lower end of KBB ratings for "very good to excellent") but after inspection there were items that were distinctly lacking such as floor mats, a spare tire, a headset was broken for the multimedia package, marker streaks on the floor fabric. The last one I can expect on a used 2013 family van. When I asked to have the other items replaced, they offered a Chinese knockoff headset (ok, it's a headset, sure.) The spare tire they said they'd confirm the car originally came with it (weird, but ok) and offered again to replace the missing floor mats with their cheap dealership offbrand car mats. I suggested these should be Toyota branded, as that's an indication of value of a car and care given to it. They declined and became forceful with me; Kyle kept repeating "We don't negotiate" when I reminded him that cars come with spare tires and floor mats as a standard offering. What a disgrace... If you're looking for a place that will actually give you what you want and need for your money, and not just the good old "college try", I'd look elsewhere. I traveled in from out of state, and this has taught me to look closer to home. 0/5, no thank you! read more

I purchased a vehicle from Ron Marhofer GMC in Canton in January. I purchased a vehicle on a Saturday and after I left the dealership I noticed the vehicle was pulling to the right while driving down the road. By the time I noticed it the dealership was closed. I called first thing Monday morning and spoke to my salesman who said no problem we will get it in for an alignment and I made an appointment. I ended up taking it to Marhofer Chevy because it is closer to my home. The Chevy dealership did the alignment and everything was great. The next day I realized the vehicle was still pulling to the right so I contacted The Chevy dealership and let them know that it was still pulling. He said okay next time you have it in we will take a look at it. (I probably should have taken it in right away) I then had an issue totally separate from this that I had to take the vehicle in that was covered under warranty. So when I brought the vehicle in to have the repair done they took a look at why the vehicle was still pulling to the right. At this time they determined that my tires were bad and needed to be replaced. My service advisor at Chevy spoke to the general manager at the Chevy dealership and she said absolutely let's get these tires replaced for her. They then had to get approval from the GMC dealership because that was where I purchased the vehicle from to have it covered for me. This is where the problem begins. They we're only willing to pay for half the tires which I did not agree with since this was a problem from the day I purchased the vehicle. The Chevy dealership also agreed that the tire should be covered at 100%. I then contacted the GMC dealership myself and was told they would need to see the vehicle in person in order to make a determination. I immediately took the vehicle to the GMC dealership in Canton where the store team leader took the vehicle for a test drive and agreed that it was pulling to the right. He said let me see what I can do and I will give you a call on Monday. This happened on Saturday. I waited all day on Monday for his call and never received one. I refused to call the dealership back because I felt like I was not being taken serious so I wanted to see how long it would take them to call me. An entire week went by with no return call. I then called them on Tuesday and spoke to store team leader. He claimed they would give me $500 towards the new tires but that was all they would do for me. I was not okay with this. I told him I was not paying anything for new tires and he said he would see if he could get tires cheaper. I said I don't want cheaper tires on my vehicle. I want you to cover them at 100% as this was an issue when I purchased the vehicle. He said but you've put 5,000 miles on your car and I said it does not matter. The problem was there from the day I purchased the vehicle. What does how many miles I've put on my vehicle have anything to do with it. He said well I will call you back and let you know what we can do for you. In the meantime, I contacted the Chevy dealership again. I wanted to know the details on the tires that they had quoted me to begin with. I spoke with the service advisor that I had been dealing with. He asked how things were going with getting the GMC dealership to cover the tires. I explained everything to him and said I was waiting for a return call to see what they were going to do. Now, mind you they have had over a week to figure this out. I then received a return call from the GMC dealership where they told me they would cover the tires but I would have to pay for installation which is going to be $150. I refused. I do not feel that I should have to pay anything for these tires because the problem was there when I purchased the vehicle. The GMC dealership said they would see what they could do about reducing the cost of the installation and he would call me back. After I hung up with him The service representative from the Chevy dealership contacted me back and told me that he spoke to his general manager and they would be replacing the tires at no charge and to bring the vehicle in the next day to have them installed. So the moral of the story is do not shop at Ron Marhofer GMC in Canton. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. As far as any other Ron Marhofer dealership that I have dealt with. I have nothing but amazing things to say about how I was treated and their customer service is top notch. I have always been impressed with the service and prices of the vehicles at Ron Marhofer, I feel the issue with the GMC store is all about customer service. read more

I started by calling to make sure the vehicle was available, they made sure it was and had it waiting for me when I got there. John Z was amazing and helped me so much. I test drove the vehicle and decided it was the one! They made the whole process so easy and fast. Ashley made the financing process quick and explained everything in detail so I knew all the numbers. I went back to pick up the car and my boyfriend pointed out the shock was a little squeaky and needed to be replaced, I got in touch with John and they are going to take care of the whole thing and they scheduled me in within two days get it fixed! February 14, 2019. Went to this location based on referral from co workers with the intent to purchase a vehicle on a budget of approximately $260/month. With that in mind the salesman, Jordon, gave me a couple options to look at. I picked a 2016 Jeep. Used. Still like the car. The dealership? Not so much. Through the sales/finance process they gave me multiple financing options at lower payments and an extended warranty. The lowest payment option was $214. I thought Great! I can get a better warranty. So I told the financing officer, Charlie I believe, that I drove a lot and wanted more coverage because I didn't want to worry about problems for at least the next few years. So he offered me a 50000 extension $245/month. I asked if this was full warranty. Meaning if anything mechanical broke all I would have to do is worry about the deductible. He said no. Just the power train. I said ok give more then. He upped it to 75000 miles and $265/month. Again I asked if it covered everything he said it did. So I went with it. 6 weeks later. I hadn't received my new license plates. Went in for an oil change and while I was there asked what the delay might be. I was told we don't do plates. That's your responsibility to transfer or get new plates. Wasn't told at the point of sale. May 19, 2019 "service shifter" alert in the car. I'VE GOT A WARRANTY! Should be covered, right? Wrong. Call Marhofer "we don't do electrical on Jeep's go to Wally Armour in Alliance, OH. They will still honor the warranty. Ok? Go to Wally Armour. Explain what going on, give them the warranty info. Call me back the next day. Your warranty is only for the Powertrain. NOT FULL COVERAGE! $730 to repair! The exact thing I was trying to avoid! I call Marhofer. Sales Manager, Kyle, yes that is the warranty you purchased. But it's not the warranty coverage I wanted. Can you help offset some of the cost since it's only been in my possession a little over 90 days? No it's a used car. Those things happen. So. They didn't sell me the warranty I wanted and because the car used it's my problem. Cancelled the warranty that I had left on the car. Cost was around $2700 extra on the loan of 54 months. Quick math...$50/ month. So I should get $2550 off my loan right? Nope again. Under $2400...no explanation. So I will not be referring. I would not recommend. Update: 5/23/19 They responding stating they have a video of my agreeing to and signing for a warranty. Never disputed. The dispute is, it was explained and understood to me, that the powertrain warranty that was sold to me covered everything. EV-ER-Y-THING! COMPLETE! Not part of, partial, a portion, or some. ALL. What your video shows is me telling your financing office to give me more than the base. So yes. I signed. I signed for less than what I wanted. I purchased a powertrain warranty. But it didn't include what I said I wanted. And apparently to you that is my fault. The customer. I also can only guess that is why you watch the video without the consumer present. So the only right answer is your answer. It must be your assumption that people that buy cars know the difference between every warranty you offer. It was never fully explained. Do better. read more
