I would not recommend working with TruBlue…read more We hired them to build a single wall, install French doors, and move a light switch. At first, our experience was great. Wendy, the general contractor, was prompt in communication, provided a detailed quote, and scheduled the project quickly. However, once work began, it went downhill. Their crew was supposed to start work Monday morning. They texted Sunday night and said someone called out and asked if they could start Tuesday. No problem, things happen. I was in a meeting Monday afternoon and got a call from them asking if they could come right then. I had to rearrange the rest of my day to accommodate them but did. They showed up and only stayed for two hours. They asked if they could start at 8 am each day and we said yes, they could come as early as they would like. They did not show up at 8 am on any day, but rather closer to 10 am. The project was supposed to take at most, 4 days. Instead, it took 8. They blamed this on us, for making changes throughout the project. However, those changes were minor (like changing our minds on the door knobs for the French doors, and providing new ones, before they had even installed them) and I explicitly asked if any of those changes were going to hold up the process. They said no. They initially built the wall and it was crooked. We asked them to fix it and they tried, but it was still very warped. The mud was applied unevenly and not sanded well. They applied paint anyway. We had to ask them to redo this. They did and the wall is now straight, but the mud and paint overtop are still uneven. They installed trim poorly and unevenly, leaving rough edges and gaps. They did not patch the holes that the nail gun left or paint the trim. We are now stuck doing this. They moved the electrical switch to the incorrect place on the wall, despite me marking exactly where we wanted it and confirming placement with them in-person beforehand. Now it's too late to fix that. They didn't lay proper protection down on our floors and they were coated in white from dust and splattered paint. They said not to worry and they would scrub them. They didn't. We are left trying to remove debris from the hardwood floor cracks that is proving difficult to get fully clean. Most importantly, they re-wired the electrical incorrectly. Our switches don't work properly, or at all sometimes. We've gotten several quotes from other electrical contractors and they've all agreed -- This was a botched job. We are now looking at spending $4,000 to fix their mistakes. After all of this, we just wanted Wendy and her team out of our home so we wrote them a check to be done with it. Wendy never followed up on the quality issue updates. With us, after initial consult, their team's communication was poor and the quality of work/craftsmanship was very much lacking.

Michael, our project manager, came out and took measurements, and asked a lot of questions about what we wanted. A short time later, we met with William who had produced a 3D rendering of what our bath tub would look like. Not only that, they had found a tub that would fit in our space that we did not find before. They were clear about the workflow, responsibilities, and accountability. They were fair on price considering the risk they were taking doing work after someone else. I don't feel they marked it up to account for that risk. As the work began, we found more issues. They came up with solutions promptly, again transparently and timely. They sent pictures as they did work, and justified any proposals for change. We ended up with the bathroom we wanted and assurance that the work was done right. The whole team is no nonsense, fair, and honest. We hired them to…read morerip out a one‑piece fiberglass shower and replace it with a fully tiled shower, tile another bathroom and its shower, and install baseboard tile as well. We've worked with other contractors in the past, including ones who tiled our master bathroom, and the difference in quality and knowledge was immediately obvious. Those contractors didn't use mortar under the cement board and used grout in the corners, which led to cracking in both the corners and the floor grout. American Tile Company did everything the proper way, including using matching caulk in the corners, which is exactly what should be done. They paid close attention to detail, even noticing that some of the tile had inconsistencies and carefully selecting the best pieces to ensure the finished work looked great. The crew worked incredibly hard, showed up when they said they would, were very reliable, friendly, and extremely reasonable on pricing. Honestly, you couldn't ask for anything more from a tile contractor. We were so impressed that we asked them to quote our in‑laws' bathroom--even though they live an hour and a half away. We weren't sure they'd even consider the job, but not only did they take it on, they drove the hour and a half every day and did an amazing job on that bathroom as well. Their quote was also much lower than Home Depot's, and the quality of the work was unquestionably higher. If you're looking for a skilled, honest, and professional tile contractor who truly cares about doing things right, American Tile Company is the one to call.
