The store its-self is much smaller than other JD Sports branches I have visited, there seemed to be a small selection of sports gear and trainers, but not really anything other than that. The store its-self inside was like a typical JD Sports store, it was clean and modern. One could question the need for this store, considering the huge JD Sports over 2 floors nearby in a much better and more central location, but it might be a smaller store but it still is OK and a much quieter place to shop, if this was an empty unit it would make St John's as a whole even worse so the store is a nice addition to the shopping centre, but with staff seeming more interested in talking amongst themselves than helping customers in a quiet store, and the store its-self being small meaning one would often have to go somewhere else, or use the website to buy most of what you need, I feel the store does only deserve a two-star rating on this occasion.

Located on Church Street, it is basically right bang in the heart of the One and the centre of Liverpool so the location here is really good, the store is quite large and is in an old building so is nowhere near as modern on the outside, or even the inside as other Primark stores I have visited including stores in Gateshead, Cardiff, Newcastle and Amsterdam, most of which I have visited in the past and awarded a three-star rating to. A lack of renovation could let the store down more than ever now, following H&M locating into the old BHS unit, with a more modern store as the retailer is similar to Primark so action is needed soon. This branch of Primark in a way reminds me of Southport's store, inside it isn't too impressive or modern - which is a shame and it contradicts what you would expect considering Liverpool is a big city, the second biggest in north-west England. I didn't like this store, not just because of the poor overall feel but it just was really untidy, I lost count of clothes on the floor before even getting to the men's section (the ladies section os on the ground floor), and by the looks of things, it looked like it had been that way for a while and staff were unbothered by it, and not doing anything to change it, making it an unsatisfactory and unpleasant place to shop overall. An untidy, uninspiring store which even lets Primark down, if you compare this to other branches of Primark including those in Gateshead and Amsterdam, which I did like, it looks like a completely different store, mainly down to the overall feel, staff and cleanliness of a store, this isn't a store I can reccomend or justify anything over a one-star rating for on this occasion.

It does tend to attract a lot of students and for those who love a bargain, this is the place to shop. Quality of clothing can be unpredictible but it all depends. If you're fortunate, you may find a garment to last you more than a few years. The store itself is plentiful, serving 5 floors which has something to suit everybody. There is even a homeware section on the top tier. Primark is a shop which you'll either love or hate, and I love it!

Henry Bohn Books has been there for many years but I only visited recently for the first time…read more Henry Bohn Books is a stereotypical second hand book shop. It is pretty old fashioned and its stacked from floor to ceiling with intriguing old books of all different types. It has that unmistakable musty, yet not unpleasant, smell of old books. There is a huge range of books available here from classic novels to childrens books. Everything is very inexpensive, even the most expensive books are usually less that £5. This is an excellent shop.

There a books packed on shelves from floor to the high ceiling for the depth of the shop. Outside there is a 10p bookcase with some interesting titles. The sign above the door reads "Books purchased from Single Items to the Largest Library. All Subjects, All periods, 16th Century to Modern Paperbacks." They also purchase classical and jazz LPs and CDs but the first floor department is not open yet. There are all manor of books to browse from specialist subjects to old annuals. They have recently been refurbished but the bookshop has an real old fashioned feeling.

They sell a range of jewellrey including wedding and civil partnership rings, necklaces, watches and other every day jewellrey. They also provide an engraving service, allowing you to mark the jewellrey with a special message for a loved one or family member. Jewellrey can be expensive, and Wongs is no exception, but fortunately they offer a 0% interest finance option when you spend over £500. The jewellrey is gorgeous,and of an extremely high quality. I especially like the fact that you can work with the staff to design your own bespoke design. However, don't be surprised when you won't have any trouble spending over the £500 threshold for finance, it'll be a breeze.

The tills are also in a bit of a random place in the middle of the store, but the staff are really polite and often do have a quick chat with you rather than just check out your items and take your money- which is a nice change!

Flying a Vivienne Westwood style pastel-hued union jack above its entrance, Boodles is a smart looking keepsake box for the treasures within. Stocking a range of expensive (just as an illustration they have a section on their website headed 'Under £3,500') but breathtaking pendants, bracelets and Patek Phillipe watches as well as, most importantly, custom made diamond rings. If you are thinking of picking out an engagement ring in Liverpool, this is should be your first stop. Even if you're not quite ready to take that particular plunge yet the staff are welcoming and happy to discuss with you what might be best purchase for yourself or loved one.
