We hired this company because we wanted to use a local business, but sadly it was a big mistake. Our job was a small half day job and instead of being given their best workers or even decent posts and pickets we got the dregs. I would have loved to have written them a great review, but after having gone through nearly a month of unfinished work and being put on the back burner we are fed up. Try Lowes or Eagleville Fence instead. Ready to cry.

First, if there was a "no star" rating, that's what this company has earned! Pat doesn't even run…read morethe company anymore, so in my opinion, that's false advertising. His father John is back running this business, and dealing with him and his crew was the worst! No communication; some days they were supposed to show, but they never did, and worse yet, there was no call. In addition, the work was shoddy at best. They cut corners at every chance and were snarky when I questioned anything. Some posts weren't level, there are no wood studs supporting the vinyl posts (so the wind looks like it could knock it down at any moment), and they didn't glue the post caps, so I had to do it. Unprofessional at every level. After their "work" was done, I had to have my brother and dad come over to actually fix the fence. Do NOT use this company. I went with them because they came in with the best price, but as they say, you get what you pay for. Save yourself the headaches, pay some more money, and have the job done correctly.

They did a fantastic job, kept me updated on the progress and everything is working great to this day. The existing pit was way too shallow, which was shown by the fact that when the job was done right it took 2 days for the water to settle from filling and pumping out. A while later everything is still working fine.

The first night after they installed the french drain system and new pit, the sump pump started mal-functioning. The workers came back the next day to finish the job and told us that the floater was sticking and that we may need a new sump pump. Mike tried to scare us into buying a new sump pump for $450. Knowing that we could go buy a perfectly good sump pump for less than $200 at Home Depot, we said no. They "finished" the job and we paid Mike in cash. Well, the next day our sump pump failed again and caused water to seep up onto our basement floor. We called Mike to ask him to come repair the sump pump that his workers had carelessly broken. He told us that there was nothing that he could do and that they don't fix sump pumps and that's why we should have bought a new one yesterday. Furthermore, he didn't offer any sort of remediation. Immensely frustrated after spending all that money, still having a wet basement, and getting no assistance from the company, my husband went to take a look at the sump pump himself. Low and behold, he found little pieces of plastic in the pit that the workers left in there. He removed all the pieces and ever since the sump pump has been working like new. We truly felt like they were sabotaging our sump pump on purpose to scam us for more money. Even if this was not the case, it was still negligence on their part. Furthermore, Mike who claims that he oversees everything only showed up on the last day in order to get paid and never bothered to inspect the quality of work. Overall, even though our basement is dry, the customer service and accountability were lousy. I would not recommend this company to any of my friends or family members.

Burns Masonry & Construction - Before pic. He was able to demo the bottom to get level w floor, and took about a foot off the top to bring to normal height.

Matt's was one of several estimates I sought, and pricing was all over the place. Matt's bid was competitive and fair, and he demonstrated a depth of knowledge and familiarity that made me immediately comfortable hiring him. Due to scheduling conflicts with another contractor installing a deck for me, I threw Matt a few curveballs. At least twice I had to ask him to move his start date, and when his team did arrive, the deck contractors were totally in his way. Throughout, Matt was patient and focused on his work. The guys he brought with him worked tirelessly over four days to excavate, remove old materials, prepare proper drainage missing from the old wall, rebuild the wall with new EP Henry pavers and regrade the area around the new wall - as well as around my driveway. Matt and his crew went above and beyond, doing extra regrading work not included in his estimate at no additional charge. And they cleaned up the work area at the end of the job beautifully. The wall looks so good that the old, shabby brick pavers by my pool now look sad by comparison. I'll be asking Matt Burns to come back to address that issue, and others, in the future. Hire Matt with confidence. You'll be glad you did. And if you have questions or want more details just message me. I'm happy to offer my strong recommendation of Matt and his team.
