I worked with Romanoff renovations, I have a 1,500 square foot house they installed some luxury vinyl flooring along with base boards. They were very, very prompt they said what they were going to do, and did what they said they were going to do. The lead was very polite and professional during the whole process. They let me ask a million questions about the job, and spent as much time as I needed to understand the scoop of the job. I hired Romanoff Renovations through Home Depot. This has been a total disaster. I contracted through Home Depot for them to remove carpet from stairs, a landing area, and a third floor and install laminate flooring on the third floor and landing area. They arrived, removed the carpet from the third floor, and installed the flooring there. The employee said he didn't have enough material to finish the landing area. I asked if he was going to remove the carpet from the stairs. He replied, "Why would I do that?" Home Depot shipped the materials a couple weeks later and I received a call from Romanoff to schedule the completion of the job. It was at this time that they informed me they would not remove the carpeting from the stairs because "Home Depot wasn't paying them to do so ." I called and complained to Home Depot because I had specifically requested the carpet be removed. They escalated the situation to someone in Washington, DC. This person then informed me that Romanoff had stated they would not remove the carpet because "it was a safety issue." This was a completely different reason than they had given me. Romanoff has been deceitful through this entire process and I cannot recommend them for your needs. read more

The most unprofessional group I have worked with. We used them through Home depot to redo the flooring in our living room that needed it terribly bad at my 87 year old grandmothers home for my 9 month old to have a clean environment to play in. They left behind a large mess for me to clean up from metal pieces to dust everywhere. They waited til they had the carpet ripped up to decide they wouldn't haul it off so they just left it in the front yard for me to pay ANOTHER to haul off. If it was too gross to haul off they should have told me BEFORE ripping it up and I could have had another contractor who would do it instead. The entire installation I heard one of the installers have to repeatedly stop the other from doing something to tell him to "slow down and do it right". When I talked to the manager she didn't care whatsoever that she had now left me with a headache and bigger mess to clean up. What was supposed to be an easy pain free process has turned into a 3 day project due to having to clean up after them. If you want it to be a simple project AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

Our experience with Romanoff was 5-star. From the day we ordered our flooring with Home Depot the Romanoff team was responsive, helpful, kind and courteous. We had a hiccup with the floor we originally ordered and had to reschedule our install. Everything was taken care of and we were rescheduled quickly. On installation day the team was on time, efficient, kind and incredibly helpful. And I still can't believe they removed all of the carpet AND installed the new floors in ONE day! If I could give them a zero or negative star, I would. We bought flooring from Home Depot and were told that Romanoff would be doing the installation. We did some research and found that they have a number a really negative reviews online so we asked if we could have a different installer. Home Depot told us that we had to use Romanoff (their "preferred" installer) to get the warranty. We had planned on taking up the tile in the kitchen ourselves, but Home Depot told us that Romanoff would do it for $350, so we thought that's great and booked the extra service. When they arrived with the jackhammer to take up the tile we asked "Will you level the floor afterwards?" We were told yes. "Will you patch any holes that might be left?" Again we were told yes. Both of answers were lies. They didn't do either. I'll also add that we have quickrete ready to patch the holes ourselves if they had told us they didn't perform that service. They installed assured us that would not be necessary After they left, and we walked on the new floor it popped, snapped and flexed in multiple places. When we called them back about this it took days to get someone to come out and look at the problem. The same installers showed up and walked on the floor and told us they just needed to add an underlayment to fix the issue. They didn't take up a single board to see what the real problem was, probably because they knew the disaster they had left underneath. They also told us to go buy a couple of additional boxes of plank in case they damaged any when they took the floor up for repair. (Which we did Totally not our responsibility.) Not convinced the installers were telling the truth (they weren't) we gently took up some of the boards to look under to get a scope of the repair needed. This is tongue and groove flooring. Easy to take up. We were in no way prepared for the nightmare they had left behind. As you can see in the pictures below they left tons of mortar and grout on the subfloor and just laid the plank over it to hide it. We showed the images to Home Depot and initially they were shocked and said we have to make this right. We again asked for another installer and were told that the company that caused the disaster had to be allowed to fix it. However, when it finally came down to fixing the issue, neither Home Depot nor Romanoff are willing to either fix their mistakes or refund our money. Don't use Romanoff and by extension don't use Home Depot since this will leave you stuck with Romanoff. read more

Romanoff flooring destroyed my floor while using some type of jackhammer tool to remove the existing ceramic tile. They proceeded to lay the LVP flooring over the damage to hide it. I asked the installers if they were going to patch any holes they created in the subfloor- They said yes. They lied to me. The new floor popped and clicked and sagged in places and bounced in others. They came back out to look at it and just said I needed an underlayment, and that would fix everything. Another lie. I didn't trust them, so I gently took up some of the vinyl planks and what I saw underneath was shocking. My kitchen floor looks like the surface of the moon. Pits and craters everywhere. Because I wanted to see the damage, and moved planks, Romanoff and Home Depot have both told me they will not help me, will not fix the problem (that they caused), and will offer zero refund. They destroyed my floors, lied about it and basically told me off. read more

Ordered carpeting through Home Depot. Romanoff Renovations installs for Home Depot. Carpet was installed on March 6. They put a hole in the sheet rock when moving the furniture back. They told me someone would call. Did not. Called 3-7 and sent photo. 3-13 sent another email, photo, two more emails and several phone calls. Finally an appointment on 3-26 @ 3:00 pm. Showed up at 8:30am when nobody was home. Did not show up at 3:00 like they said they would after we talked to them. I took off work early. Called Home Depot again. Said they would be there 3:00 on 3-27. Took off work again. Did not show up. Will have have to call again. read more

Horrible customer service. Our Installation was cancelled without them telling us. When I called wondering where they were. They advised installation was canceled due to product not being in stock. Couldn't give a reason as to why they didn't call and inform us of this. read more

We ordered wood flooring through Home Depot and Romanoff Renovations did the installation. They came on time and did their work very well. However, we discovered, after the workmen finished and left, that there had been c couple of places at the bottom of our kitchen cabinets where pieces of cabinetry had been removed but not replaced. We contacted the company and they told us we would have to contact the cabinet company to get the pieces replaced and that Romanoff would then reimburse us. We had the cabinetry fixed and have left numerous phone messages letting them know the work has been completed and telling them the cost, which we have paid. There has been no response to several phone calls over a three week period. read more
