When my contractor started to lay the flooring he realized that we only received 230 sq ft. When I contacted them, they gave no apologies and tried to turn things around on me. They said I ordered 6 boxes -- but how would I know how many sq ft were in the boxes? Again, no apologies and they took no responsibility for their error. They said they would "split" the freight with me. What? This was not my fault. Second, when I tried to leave a review on their site, they apparently don't accept any reviews below a 4 star rating! This gives customers a distorted and untrue picture of the company. Third, don't believe that they have the lowest prices because they don't. I hope this saves future customers from the same snafu I ran into. I am in Greensboro, NC, not San Francisco.

After 2 months of trying to get a straight answer and resolution from the original contractor, I decided to look elsewhere. I found J & C Flooring on Yelp, a local family-owned business. The experience with J&C was quite the opposite: excellent communication, fast response for quote, competitive pricing, very knowledgeable, and the floor was repaired quickly and correctly. I am very pleased with the whole transaction and the results; I feel like a valued customer. Without a doubt, I will reach out to them again if I have more flooring needs.

Absolutely the worst service I've ever contracted out that ended up costing me money to fix with…read moreall the issues from an amateur installer. Realized the first day something was off when he had trouble using multiple glue down products he couldn't get right so he decided to nail. Ended up not nailing properly, or not even at all in some areas, since we have boards shifting and leaving huge gaps. His recommendation was us paying for his mistake by going over 2000 sqft with wood filler putty. He constantly made promises he never kept, had horrible communication, rushed his work which left damage and improper installation, and constantly demanded more money despite not finishing the work. Even the work on my stairs were so badly done despite him telling me it was the easiest way for him. The floors were never properly leveled by him before install despite him assuring me it would be fine. It wasn't and feels awful to walk on when you can notice this huge bumps and dips. Baseboards now need extra work to fit flush with such huge gaps. Him and his crew never cleaned up either. In fact, they even left their cigarettes and trash in our yard for us to clean. Very unprofessional. Cruickson even had the audacity to threaten to not finish work I had already paid him for if I didn't pay his gas and other projects he hadn't finished. He constantly reminded us how poor he was to try to prey on our sympathy. Don't do business with this dishonest crook. Stay far far away.
