The preparations for the wedding started with a preview appointment about 6 weeks before the wedding. The head stylist, Brittney, did an excellent job of listening to the hair and makeup look I wanted and making it a reality! I normally wear minimal makeup, so I didn't want to look overdone. Brittney did an excellent job of just enhancing my looks! On the day of the wedding, Brittney, and her team did an amazing job with myself, my bridesmaids, mom and mother-in-law. Each person had very different request for their desired hair and makeup look, from minimalistic makeup to more bold, heavier makeup. Brittney and her team did any amazing job with everyone based on what each person wanted. Everyone felt so confident and loved their look! Brittney stayed during pictures and followed us around to touch everyone up. After the ceremony was done she removed my veil and gave everyone some final touch ups before leaving. This does cost extra, but I'd highly recommend it! Not only did Something Blue Stylists do an excellent job, Brittney and her team were so incredibly friendly and nice! If you are looking for a hair and makeup stylist, Something Blue Stylist is amazing and I would highly, highly recommend them to everyone!

I feel like I can be a tough critic about professional makeup and really wanted to feel confident on the big day. From our trial to the wedding, Alicia did an amazing job of making me feel beautiful and as natural as possible. I was impressed with all the small things she took notes on after our trial and applied for the wedding day months later. It felt like she was anticipating my every need and the final product turned out amazing. Same with hair! I brought inspiration of a hair style I've never done before to our trial and she knocked it out of the park. I made her job more difficult by adding extensions that made my hair thicker and longer post trial and Alicia didn't bat an eye. I texted her about a month before the wedding with concerns about the extensions holding a curl, and Alicia made me feel so reassured and offered some advice to prep for the wedding day. I trust her so much and was so grateful not only for her snd her team's talent but also the support and hype throughout the whole process. I also felt that my styling preferences were not reflected in the final result. We discussed the look I was hoping to achieve, including wanting soft, loose curls rather than tighter curls. However, the finished style looked very similar to how my hair looked when I arrived, and when it was curled, the curls were much tighter than I had requested. I had a major event to attend afterward and was so unhappy with the result that I went home, washed my hair, and restyled it myself before leaving. That was stressful and disappointing, especially after investing the time and money in a professional service. I understand that not every stylist is the right fit for every client, but I wanted to provide this feedback because I left feeling that my preferences were not heard and that the service did not meet my expectations. I have very, very thick hair that's generally unruly, so when I get it cut, I basically expect a trim to make it look acceptable. Vicki is the first stylist I've ever had that understood how to properly cut thick, wavy/curly hair; it looks amazing! She also performs various color services, and those always turned out great, as well. She's not afraid to (politely) tell you that your idea won't work well; I had a couple of color and cut requests that she gently explained wouldn't work with my skin tone, hair type, and face shape. Most of the stylists have a strong client base, because they are good, so I recommend calling in advance for an appointment if you're a new client.
