The chairs are pretty standard for a venue like this and the stage set up looks pretty versatile. I liked the fact that the restroom was for all genders. There was some great art on display and for purchase as well. While this neighborhood is not one I visit frequently, it is an easily transit accessible location and there was street parking available in the area (I understand this is pretty limited when there's an event going on at the Stadium however). The building looks well weathered but well used as a live music venue. Purchasing tickets in advance was easy and the associated website was good. I'd definitely go to another show here. There is good acoustics for the venue in general. Signage isn't great -- it would be better if the building had better identification.

From the outside it still looks like a house but it's a funky house, the window coverings are pretty iconic of The Aviary already! The cool thing is, now that it's finished I can really see how much work they have put into the place! The entrance way is more like a venue (and less like walking into a living room) it brings you round to the bar and where you pay cover etc, once properly inside the space has a nice bar the length of the room, a handful of tables and chairs, decent size stage at the back, local art displayed all round and awesome sound! The vibe is cosy, and there big emphasis on supporting local artists - I dig that. I like the beer listings on the wall - mostly craft beer and Phil knows a lot about them and recommended a really nice lager to me while I was there. I already love watching bands in this space and can't wait to go back.

I've been to two shows here over the years - one just before Covid and one more recently. I see…read moreother reviews talking about a $5.00 membership, but they must have gotten rid of that because I've never been asked to pay for a membership. The venue is old and full of character for sure, but it is not accessible at all if you have any kind of mobility issues. And it's a shame, because the management does seem to WANT to be inclusive, but they are terribly limited by the physical location. It's true that you walk down a dingy and dank outdoor hallway to get to the entrance, and then walk up a whole bunch of stairs to get to the ID checking station. Then you go in and get to the ticket scanning station. Maybe she was having a bad day, but the attitude from her was really off-putting. When you have a mobile ticket, apparently they can't scan the QR Code if you have your phone in dark-mode. I've never had that issue with any other venue accepting my mobile tickets, but maybe their scanner is different. Anyway, she was really annoyed with me for that. Once inside, there were 3 bars open and the bartenders were all super friendly. We went back to the same bartender each time and she always remembered our orders. As others have said, the washrooms are down a flight of stairs. If you choose to leave while there are still people lined up to get in, you will have to squeeze past them in that same dank alley/hallway thing you came in - There are no other exits (though I'm sure you could use the other doors in the event of an emergency). The slanted dance floor is not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it adds to the quirky character of the old building. I thought the sound quality from the performers were great for both shows I saw and the lighting was excellent as well.

Bar gets very crowded with spectators leaning against it. You are not allowed to exit at East doors by stage, so this means a lot of in and out traffic at the ticket gate. People just need to learn some manners. It's $10.00 to park in the nearby lot. Bathrooms are ok.

Absolutely love this venue for dance events!…read more Great floor, super spacious, and the vibe cannot be beat. The staff are very courteous and efficient. Lots of food and drink options in the menu for both bar type foods as well as things to please foodies. Location is extremely easy to get to by public transit and there are enough parking options within walking distance. Whether it is the weekly Salsa/Bachata/Kizomba dance night on Tuesdays or the Afrobeats/Amapiano flavoured dance nights on the weekends, I've really enjoyed this venue and the types of events they host. Highly recommend checking them out. Perfect for both date night ideas as well as solo/group outings.

It was not a regular hot dog and the breading was nice. Seating was comfortable. My biggest problem with this place is that I paid to see a band and this place is split up into two rooms, one of which you can not really see the band. I did not pay to sit in a room beside the room the band was playing in.

My first visit to this dance hall was to watch "The Battle Of The Bands"…read more It was NOT for country line dancing. Some of the patrons that night were expecting the regular dance mix and were turned off by the hard rock music. The bar is cash only. No beers on tap. Kind of a limited selection of libations, but a little of everything. The stage is huge and perfect for a large band. The seating is picnic table style. Perfect for birthday parties. The bathrooms are clean, but had run out of paper towel. It's kinda rustic, but it's a nice venue. I will only return for a rock show. Can you tell I don't like country music.

If you don't know where it is the name is the address 9910 109 street and it's downstairs below The common. That's the line up you see as you drive past on a Friday night. It's pretty small and only holds about 130 people but it's popular so expect a line up. Check your coat, there is nowhere to keep your jackets if you want to take them off. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bar is well stocked. It's got fun vibes, and a quirky set up. You can also hire out the venue too. They have some great local bands play at this intimate venue. The stage is basically floor level, with various booths around the perimeter of the "dance floor." Also there were these three cloud light things above the stage, which everyone could not stop staring at because they were just so cool. So if anything, you must go there just to see the cloud lights!! Really fun place, can't wait to go back.
