Absolutely love this venue for dance events! Great floor, super spacious, and the vibe cannot be beat. The staff are very courteous and efficient. Lots of food and drink options in the menu for both bar type foods as well as things to please foodies. Location is extremely easy to get to by public transit and there are enough parking options within walking distance. Whether it is the weekly Salsa/Bachata/Kizomba dance night on Tuesdays or the Afrobeats/Amapiano flavoured dance nights on the weekends, I've really enjoyed this venue and the types of events they host. Service was excellent, our waitress checked on us often and was really timely with the drinks. I tried the corn dog, it was greasy but tasty. It was not a regular hot dog and the breading was nice. Seating was comfortable. My biggest problem with this place is that I paid to see a band and this place is split up into two rooms, one of which you can not really see the band. I did not pay to sit in a room beside the room the band was playing in. read more

Station is a great place to catch live music, but THIS review is all about brunch. Station serves brunch Saturdays and Sundays, and (at least when we were there) the idea is struggling to gain traction. We ordered the family-style "come hungry" feed ($22/person), and everything was excellent. Started with a breakfast salad and chorizo pizza (with an egg on top because brunch). Then the mains came--a mountain of hash browns, eggs with bacon AND back bacon, french toast, and seriously the best pancakes we have ever eaten. As a bonus, there was a very amiable performer providing background music. They do a brunch cocktail special, and their bar is open to serve drinks. Station on Jasper is a brand new restaurant that is now inhabiting where the Needle was. I was fairly partial to The Needle and how it served it's older crowd and was super dismayed by the reasons for its closer. So, with anticipation my husband and I decided to give it a try. Now keep in mind, that it has only been opened 3 weeks (if that) so hopefully the kinks will be ironed out in the next while. The restaurant itself is fairly similar in style to how The Needle was. Cool, slightly retro, charming, and definitely a place to sip a cocktail or a beer. We sat on the pretty patio which overlooks Jasper Ave. It is an interesting (if not loud) spot. Our server was friendly and sweet. The menu was average...decent beers and cocktails....food was typical. Hand held sandwiches, pizzas, some appetizers and salads. I was intrigued by the meat board...of locally selected seafood from Effin' seafood and local meat, however it was not available yet. Also some of the beers were not available yet as well which was a big annoying. So I decided on the Chicken Po'boy, and my husband went with the meat pizza. I also tried the Gypsy Tear beer and then followed it by the Situation Brewing Tea Sassion. The food was decent. My sandwich actually was really tasty. Po' Boy Bourbon brine chicken, buttermilk fried, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, & Louisiana gravy is the description in the menu and it was true to form. Plump fried chicken that was super moist on the inside in a fresh bun with the fixings. I wasn't a huge fan of the garlic aioli that came with the fries. It tasted more like a Caesar salad dressing. The fries were fine, although they lacked the crispiness that I typically enjoy. And they didn't have any vinegar for them which was annoying as well. My husband felt the pizza was really tasty...but quite small considering what he paid for it. So, as most restaurants that start out there are things that go really well and some things that need fixing. I will probably give this another go when there is a band in town that we want to hear and hopefully their menu will serve what it says. I really hope that they will do well. read more

I really want to support this place since it is a live music spot that supports local musicians, but I went there Friday night to see a concert and had to leave early so I didn't get to see the headliner. They were not enforcing the masking health regulations at all and 90% of people were not wearing masks in the stage area. My friend even had to get the manager to get a bartender to wear her mask. It was getting really crowded and I left because I didn't feel safe as someone with auto-immune issues. I was so excited to see live music again and left very disappointed. Please start enforcing the mask-wearing so I can go back! read more

I came here really wanting to love it. The location is amazing, the decor is wonderful. When I'd called to ask about how early to come before a show the staff member was kind and helpful. Heck, even all the staff I interacted with here were great. But the food was such a letdown. The menu seems interesting and had a lot of great items like po-boys, fritters, pork belly. I ordered the crab fritters along with some fries and my partner had the PB&J. Fritters are typically golden and fluffy with nuggets of meat or veg. The ones here had a crispy outside, however inside was the texture of gluey mashed potatoes. If there was crab inside them I certainly never tasted it. They were heavy, under seasoned, and starchy. The side sauce that comes with it was alright but it was sweet where it should have been more acidic to compliment salty fritters. My partner said the pork in the PB&J was incredibly chewy (I could tell as he struggled to eat it). The jam was supposed to be peach but he said it tasted and had the texture of cinnamon apple sauce. The saving grace were the fries which were decent. Overall the staff, location, and overall feel of the place is amazing. Even though the A/C didn't work and it was 35 degrees before a show. And I love having a downtown venue for live music. However, I'll skip the food next time. read more

I was there last night to here my friend play for happy hour. I had the station burger.... beef patty with bacon jam, mozzarella, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo on a brioche bun with a side of fresh cut fries and gravy. The burger was ok, a little over cooked so it was dry. The fries were fresh cut but soggy, they were nicely salted. The gravy was my favourite part. I think it was made from the jus of a pan roast as it had that nice intense beef flavour and a nice peppercorn overtone. The reason I gave three stars is that there was a band playing later on that required cover, I didn't know this when I got there and ordered my meal. Halfway through my meal the staff informed me that I needed to buy a ticket to stay. I JUST GOT MY FOOD. I thought his was in poor taste. I should have been told this when I ordered my food so I could have gone somewhere else where I wouldn't have to rush. read more

So I've only been here once, and it was a pretty okay experience save for the wasps that were trying to bother us while we ate our lunch. The first table I tried to sit at was not stable so I moved to a different patio seat. My sandwich was pretty good (I got the cubano) and my fries were pretty decent as well. I was disappointed in the salad dressing choice for the side salad (otherwise I would have gotten the side salad) but it was a pretty decent experience on the whole. The wait staff were cheery and helpful even as my water spilled on the uneven table I was originally seated at. Food service was reasonably quick and the gorgeous weather made it a good place for lunch that day. read more

We came here for a concert and decided to have a quick bite to eat first - the venue hasn't changed from the last business that was here and is still a great place to watch live music. The food was good; we were pleasantly surprised by the ribs & cornbread (I need 47 portions of that cornbread, please) and the pork belly & peach jam sandwich. The food was delicious and pricing was pretty average for a downtown bar. The only problem we had was the service - it was spotty, and not overly friendly. It was hard to flag her down for attention and she was pretty abrupt with us when interacting with our table. It didn't give us the warm and fuzzies, that's for sure. read more

This place just opened about two weeks back and I gotta say: if you're a fan of great live music, you need to check this place out! They have a big variety of artists come through here on a weekly basis and the venue is set up nicely to accommodate both them and their patrons. The staff here are very friendly too which is always a huge plus. I didn't try much of the food personally, but my friends I went with said they make a pretty solid poutine and pizzas. This place gets really busy during big live music events but it is generally a really nice and quiet spot to work in the afternoon. You can grab a comfy booth and a cheap meal/drink. I love the cubano and the poutine, the nachos are very different and while I did enjoy them they aren't what I was expecting so keep that in mind. I need to go back and try more off of the menu because it all looks amazing. I like the variety of drinks they offer here and a couple of the bartenders can concoct any sort of cocktail you desire. The service has always been good while I have been here and my boyfriend is now addicted to the cubano so we will definitely be back for dinner at some point. read more

I went to a show there on Friday and during the opening comedy act, one of the bartenders was openly heckling and eventually yelled a rude comment at the comedian, completely interrupting the show. It was extremely unprofessional and disappointing to see that the staff weren't supportive of the local performers at this venue. Not a huge fan of how the set this place up for shows or mini gigs. No space to walk, no room to dance. Maybe it's the promoters? I did not enjoy my time here. Awesome location, fantastic vibe and talent you might not otherwise see had the Station not opened. Staff are quick and I loved the poutine and deconstructed Caesar salad. My husband and I came in from out of town for the weekend and were visiting a view pubs to see what Downtown Edmonton is all about. We visited another pub down the road and had an amazing experience early afternoon. This place said there was live music just down the road and that it might be fun to see. We decided to go to Station on Jasper and were extremely disappointed. First, we said we'd like to sit on the patio, and in return we got an annoyed sigh like we were putting the waitress out. So, we moved inside which we felt was fine as we couldn't really hear the music on the patio anyway. Once we got inside we ordered drinks and listened to music. It took quite a while for our drinks but that doesn't generally bother us. We then put in an order for one appetizer, and waited 27 minutes, (after asking one time if we had actually ordered). We received our appy and it was so burnt. When asked how our food was, we were honest, the waitress looked at the food and agreed it was burnt. She was nice enough to comp our appy, but unfortunately we will not go back. Total miss at this spot for us. Hopefully it's just one off! read more

I was just here for dinner before a game, so it was before any music was going on. I was the about 3:30 (6 PM game) and it was pretty quiet. I sat at the bar and tasted a couple beers, they had a decent selection, and settled on the Lemon Berry Helles. Ordered the Deconstructed Caesar Salad and added the shaved prime rib, and got the Poutine. The caesar salad was huge. Felt like I had a whole romaine lettuce head (it was right before some of the recalls, but I was perfectly fine after). Part of it was cut off and chopped to make a bed for the prime rib, the rest was seared while and drizzled with dressing. It was really good, and the prime rib was amazing, with just the right amount of peppered spice and right sized portion. The poutine was made with sliced fingerling potatoes. Roasted to perfection, cooked through, with a slight crispy edge (not the half cooked fries you get at most places). The gravy was really good and the curds nice and melted. Some of the best poutine I've had in Canada. Not overly salted, just right. Definitely one of the better meals I had in Edmonton during my stay. read more
