A young man immediately approached me and stood there for a few minutes discussing what I needed. We talked about a couple of the lanterns on the wall. He said he was going to the desk to check on the prices and measurements. He was gone a long time, I could see him. I thought maybe it was just taking him a few minutes to look it all up. After about 15 minutes I went to my car and got a measuring tape, came back in and measured the lanterns myself. He still never came back to me so I left without the measurements or the pricing info. I feel sure that my purchase will be pretty sizable but maybe they just don't need the business. Very disappointing. I can probably purchase online but hate to not shop local. What a sad state of affairs.

Easily accessible and visible from I-85 as you blast past, but I stopped to check it out. If you're zipping by at 80 miles per hour, it looks like a massive brick. The right color, the right texture, the right shape. But when you take the time to stop and check it out, you'll see that it's NOT a brick. In fact, it is made up of hundreds of regular sized bricks. Disappointing. And then, I find that the World's Largest Brick is listed in https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/largest-brick. That one is 9 feet 8 inches long and 3 feet 3 inches tall and wide. It's in DENTON TEXAS and that's nowhere near Montgomery Alabama. Two stars. I live close by, and every time I've gone in, (with the exception of the first time) I've had…read morenothing but problems. I bought a washer from them shortly after they opened. It broke exactly one day after their warranty expired, and because I couldn't afford an extended warranty, they refused to help me. I get that it's a part of their contract. But one day? That just lazy bad customer service. On a different occasion, a year or so later, I needed to buy a part for an appliance. I showed the woman (who has been working there a while at this point) what I needed. She went on sears website and said she would order it for me. It took her almost 30 minutes to figure out the website. She finally got the part ordered, and It wasn't as expensive as what was showing online at sears and other merchants, so I questioned her. The difference in price was a lot. Like a 50$ difference. And she assured me not to worry, she had gotten it right. Then she assured me if it came in wrong I could bring it back to them, return it, and they would order the right one. My gut told me she had screwed the order up, but I ignored it. Low and behold the wrong part came in. Wasn't even for the same appliance I need it for. I took it back to the store to be told by some kid, who was very rude, that they don't return online items. When I told him what I was informed, he just shrugged and walked away. On our most recent trip to this store, my husband went in to buy some fluorescent bulbs, and he was greeted by some creepy man who looked at him, turned to another employee, and yelled "do you want me to deal with that?". My husband said the other clerk told the man to go do something else and she helped him, but was extremely rude to him. Now keeping in mind that my husband is not white, hearing someone refer to him as "that" was really off putting, but he isn't one for conflict(and we needed the bulbs). I've met the owners of this store. They are super sweet people, but their staff is horrible. I also feel the owners should be present more often. Every single situation where I've run into problems, they weren't available. I'd love to say I won't go back. Unfortunately convenience is more important than good customer service some times, so there's a big chance I'll be back in here.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with my recent experience with Montgomery Overstock. This…read morewas the second time purchasing a couch from this company. The first time I was present and had no issues. The second time my college aged son did the purchase with me on the phone so I could hear the entire transaction. We wanted to do same as cash xxx days financing. They did not explain any options to him just said to scan the QR code and apply that way. I had the money to pay in full but since it was holidays I wanted to take advantage of the option to split the payment with no interest. Nothing was explained about them having different types of financing options. On the day the couch was delivered and I saw the paperwork and logged into the account, they did the financing through a "bad credit" approval company which charged $100 more to pay the couch off early! Plus they added a $100 warranty that was never asked for nor explained to us that it was mandatory due to financing! A couch that we had an invoice for $798 ended up costing $1010 and should have only been $698 because we didn't ask for a warranty! Absolutely disgusting way to conduct business and try to take advantage of a college student. I should not have had to pay for a warranty I didn't want nor these extra fees to Acima financing! All I wanted was the same as cash financing! I would have paid cash for it in full had I known this company was shady!!! A $600 couch ended up costing me over $1000!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
