It also included some updated landscaping and outdoor lighting. I am very happy with the result and have received several complements on project. The design incorporated changes that really improved the look and "feel" of the access, and improved drainage away from my house. The work was done on time and on the proposed budget, which was about $20k. I'm looking forward to more projects with Design Exteriors in the future.

Buerger Brothers Construction built an addition to our home, which included a 700+ square foot garage, using concrete poured on Piers and a floor poured as a "Slab on void" due to bad soils report. They also built a new deck, and managed front yard landscaping. They are an honest, ethical, professional, and an excellent company to do business with. We started planning in May of 2019, with construction from June through October of 2020, we found ways to work during the early days of the Covid pandemic. Communicating with Christian was a breeze, he was easy to talk to, responsive, professional and truly cares about what you are conveying. Because I am a retired engineer I had to stick my nose into everything... From the beginning he brought in professionals from the Architect, Structural Engineers to the finishing Carpenter and Painter, each step was amazing and all within budget. The cadre of subcontractors hired by Burger Brothers had to meet a high standard of professionalism and produce a high quality product, they were all wonderful to work with. Of note, was the daily cleanup, the care taken and the security to the existing area, especially working in the midst of a pandemic! Inconvenience was kept to a minimum and in the end we can actually say the complete project went quite smoothly and was a great experience. Would I hire them to do it again? Absolutely "In a heartbeat, no doubt about it!" I just cannot brag enough about this company and I promise you will not regret your decision to hire Christian and his crew! I could go on and on, but you get the gist.... if you want honesty and professionalism, these are your guys! It's hard to put into words how wonderful our experience was with David at MetalArc. We had…read morecompleted a beautiful high end kitchen remodel and the crowning jewel was to be the metal and glass cabinet doors that our architect had drawn in. However, the company she had used in the past wouldn't call me back. I found MetalArc using Google. And I'm beyond happy I did. First, their commitment to their craft is top notch. They will work diligently to get the project right. The level of refinement that we were looking for with these doors was not a hurdle they shied away from but rather they accepted the challenge and worked side by side with me to get it exactly right. The finished product is stunning, we couldn't be happier. Second, David's level of communication is a rarity. He is such a well spoken, clear and eloquent communicator. It is a lost art in today's day and age. I was impressed time and time again with his clarity and thoughtfulness in every conversation and email. This was truly a "project" that required communication and collaboration and he impressed me time and time again. Most railing companies said that they couldn't do it. MetalArc was one of the few willing to accept the challenge and the unknowns that came with it. They worked hard to understand my vision and priorities. I am very particular in what I want and don't want. They respected that and were not put off by it. They are very, very kind people. The project gave them challenges beyond their expectations, but they were patient and stuck with it each time. I am thrilled with the final result. On my end, there were a few challenges as well. I had to be extremely patient with the schedule. The project was bid at a flat rate, however, they increased it when they had a better understanding of the project. This was after I was already committed and had made a large deposit. I was frustrated by that because I thought the project was clear from the beginning since I had a picture of what I wanted to replicate. The payment installments were confusing and, as things took longer, they added new installments. I had to be firm that the final installment would be paid when the project was done. They had a few employees turnover which directly impacted my project. All but one did great work; but the one caused some major hiccups as did the transitions in general. We finished the project as a team. The results are beautiful. We are on good terms. We are planning to work together again, thankfully on a much more straightforward project!

I paid $425 for "Winterize - Water/Drains/Appliances," which included labor and antifreeze, as reflected on the invoice. The business publicly advertises services as a General Contractor and Home Builder, and I relied on those representations when hiring him, it's my second home and I informed him I was hiring him to do a full weatherization as I was told I needed to do if I wasn't returning for a long extended time . Eric Wiltse assured me he does this weatherization procedure a lot and has many clients who also own mountain home properties to assure me and gain my trust . Prior to the work, Mr. Wiltse texted to confirm that he was in his way to the property to winterize the home at 205 Hazelwood Drive, Nederland, CO. After receiving access confirmation. He later sent text that the work was finished and that he was on his way home. I relied on this text confirmations that the winterization had been completed and everything went well. When I returned to the home last month , I entered the home, I discovered there was no heat, no hot water, and no running water. , my cousin called a emergency # that comes out in the evenings . House had electricity.. no heat or hot water and I was informed by the technician it's not something they can do on this service call. It's serious damage . I called another company who would come to Nederland the next day for help to find out why there's no heat or water. Contractor arrived to inspect and diagnose the issue and determined that the winterization had been performed improperly. Pipes froze and burst throughout the home, and the boiler system was damaged and rendered inoperable . I showed them the detailed bill from Eric Weltse and they pointed out they the bill shows why everything happened . The contractor didn't do a full correct weatherization. Confirmed with the details in that bill. I trusted him to do the right thing It's nothing less than catastrophic damage and the house is not livable with no heat or hot water. I have now received professional repair estimates totaling $31,965, including extensive repiping, water heater replacement, and a boiler system replacement alone is approximately $15,000 This damage was not routine wear and tear. It has been identified as the result of improper winterization work. The scope and cost of the damage far exceed anything disclosed or reasonably anticipated. I have written communications (text messages) from Mr. Wiltse confirming travel to the property, performance of the winterization, and completion of the work. These communications are being preserved as evidence. Due to the extent of the damage and financial harm, I am in the process of filing a civil lawsuit in Colorado court within the next two weeks to recover damages related to this matter. I am sharing this experience publicly to warn others. Winterization in mountain conditions is critical, and improper work can cause catastrophic damage. Anyone considering this company should independently verify licensing, scope of work, and accountability before hiring. 12/15/2025 This is an itemized list a Licensed Contractor sent me what a legitimate Weatherization bill should look like . Not a bill that Eric Wiltse provided correct, itemized winterization invoice looks like (Boiler-heated, vacant mountain home) A legitimate winterization bill would separately itemize each system addressed. Boiler work is always listed as "Boiler" or "Hydronic Heating System" -- never buried under "appliances." Denver Decks just completed the work on our new deck. From the very start to the finish the…read moreproject has been great. The new deck replaced an old wooden deck that had seen it's better days. The understructure of the old deck was beginning to fail and the understructure supports the roof that covers most of the deck. Before hiring Denver Decks to do the job we used AI to recommend good deck companies in the Denver area. We contacted four companies, three responded and Denver Decks was one of those three. Our deck is 17' x 20' and the estimates to do the job were similar. We were promptly contacted and set up a meeting with Paul Koehn from Denver Decks. We met with Paul and quickly realized that he was much more that just a salesman for the company. He had built many decks before moving into sales so his knowledge of what is needed for a new deck was extensive, readily available, and we actually enjoyed discussing our project with him. Paul also indicated that Denver Decks always complies with the codes and permit process that exists for such projects in Denver. One of the companies that we contacted said that they do not pull permits for work in Denver and if something goes wrong during the process it would be our fault! Paul had lots of photos of other projects that Denver Decks had completed. The photo collection was extensive, well organized, and included pictures of stairs, railings, deck surfaces and lights that have been used in other projects. It really made it easier for us to decide what we wanted for our deck. After deciding on what we wanted for our deck the deconstruction of the old deck began and we got to meet/talk with Jay (project manager), Mike (site manager) and Jim, the craftsman for our deck. The communication throughout the project was great! The roof, that covered most of the 17'x20' deck, was supported by three 4"x4" posts that were set upon the deck surface that was supported by two 2"x8" boards on edge. I was very nervous that the aging understructure might fail and drop the roof onto the deck. Denver Decks installed 3 caissons to support the new 6"x6" posts that would now support the roof and 3 added caissons to support the outer edge of the deck. Each cement caisson was 19" in diameter and 36" deep. My worries about the roof falling ceased to exist! After the old deck was removed Jim began to build the new deck. I do not have words that can adequately express how impressed we were with the craftsmanship, construction knowledge and care that Jim displayed in building our deck. The skill that he displayed in all aspects of the construction were amazing and the best that I've ever witnessed in all of the projects that I've ever hired or been around. He built our deck the way that I would've built it if I had his knowledge, skill, equipment and his many years of construction experience! Thank you Jim! Such decks are not cheap and the price for Denver Decks to do the job was similar to that of the company that said they would not pull permits! Building a deck is one of those many situations in life where you truly do, "get what you paid for" and we didn't pay a cent until the job was finished to our satisfaction. Apologies for such a long review but a short review just would not do in this case. Denver Decks did a great job for us and we wholeheartedly recommend them for your deck.
