As a resident of Oak Bend I have to tell you it is a wonderful place to live. I have lived here…read moreover 2 years and have never had a problem. Our community is about 200 houses, surrounded by horse farms and trees. It is true we abut I75 but hopefully we will be getting a noise barrier. This is a new problem, cutting down the trees for new lots and the electric company cut trees as well. I do not know if many people disliking the management. They are very helpful and both management and maintenance go out of their way to make this a comfortable community. Please know in all communities there are people who will complain but the majority of people here are happpy

Five months before we retired we flew to Florida to find our retirement home. The first place we…read morevisited was OTOW in Ocala Florida . There we met Mercedes Hernandez. Her knowledge of the community and the homes impressed us. She showed us homes to see what we liked. We let her know what features and upgrades we wanted. She was fantastic! We searched other communities, however, nothing compared to OTOW and we found ourselves back at OTOW before our return trip home. Once we sold our home, Mercedes was able to find us a move in ready home with all of the options we desired. She also introduced us to their relocation team. Greatly reducing the stress of a long distance move. Now that we've been here for over four months, life is good! We love it here in our new home and we are very grateful to Mercedes for taking the time to show us what our next chapter should look like. Thank you, Mercedes! Laura & John Savino

Here's my sort of rounded star rating:…read more As recent "former" resident (only moved for family reasons) I'll provide my take on OTOW. I'm not a golfer but that never matter as the community gets 5 stars for all kinds of things to do. This isn't The Villages so there is not AS much going on. But was fine as it is not a zoo like latter either. You still have absolutely enough activities and fun clubs in OTOW. We really enjoyed the music both within the community and just outside the gate by Chandler Hills. Library, ping pong and wood shop were just a few of our favorites. Excellent fitness centers! Pools can get a busy at times but that's to be expected. Timing! Now for 3 stars. High HOA. Most places go up over time but it was pushing here. That said, you still get lots for the money. Put it this way. I wouldn't let $100 keep me from staying here. Personal advise. Wherever you move, OTOW vs the Village or elsewhere, look for a home that doesn't back up to common road. We lived on street with no road behind us. That was a smart buy living wise. Probably made our house sell that much faster, too.

She was very professional and easy to talk to. She was attuned to our needs and concerns from the very moment we met. She helped us choose the home of our dreams. It is completely true when they say that it is " Resort style Life". We couldn't be more pleased. Bill and Phyllis Coulter

Even bought a hot tub. Manager admitted her and her husband watched my husband do all the work. This was going to be home. The day everything was done and ready to enjoy, manager shows up to tell us county is forcing her to move RVs out due to zoning regulations. They have had RVs here for over 2 years. Don't tell me she just found out. This stuff doesn't happen over night. The owner is a mystery man no one can contact. Certified letters went out to every RV,  but us. Within 2 weeks everyone in a RV was looking for a place to move. That's fine. Maintenance hasn't cut our grass the 2 months we were here which is supposedly included in rent. Laundry room consists of one working washer and 2 dryers. Place is always dirty, same bugs smashed on the floor since we moved in, trash overflowing, paint peeling off the walls. Someone finally cleaned it up last week. Free WiFi might work if you sit next to the building. Usually won't even operate app used to run washer and dryers. You can't sit out at night or early morning without being bit up by no see-ums. Motorcycles and loud cars running in and out of property next door at all hours. Septic system is one small tank for every three units, had it back up into our unit because tank was full. Honestly feel we were scammed out of 2 months rent, fee for background checks, money we spent on improvements, not to mention moving expenses. Those of us who had to move, they honestly did us a favor.
