I have a 140 pound GSD and getting him to the vet alone is a struggle but he recently was having trouble getting up due to a hind leg injury so a mobile vet was the only option. This was by far the most exceptional service I've ever received for my boy, they called me Monday morning and said they could squeeze him in at the end of their route for the day and even at 6:30 PM when the work day should be done Dr. Freeman and the vet tech with her treated Bosco with care and compassion as if he was the first patient of the day. She constantly checked in with me days after and made herself available for any questions of concerns I had. I could not get him to take the pill antibiotics she prescribed him and she took the time to call a compounding pharmacy to see if we could get him the meds in liquid form and I had them by the next day. I will be using them for as long and my sweet boy is around even for regular wellness visits! 12/10 stars for this amazing staff.

We have an orange tabby who is the sweetest, most loving animal - unless he has to go to the vet. Then, he turns into a hissing, growling, yowling, demonic banshee. Because he doesn't like to go to the vet, it's better if the vet comes in to him. We had used a different mobile vet for our two cats, but that vet was on vacation when made initial contact, so we chose South by South Vets as our backup. That vet is now our first choice. When we called, Bobby was very friendly and professional. He worked to get our records from our previous vet, and then called us back to tell us that the cats really didn't need their shots right then. We made an appointment a few months out, and received periodic reminders that it was coming up. South by South Vets came within the window promised in a state-of-the art van that can accommodate anything from a simple exam to a dental cleaning to full-on surgery. Dr. Ford and Kimberly did their exam and injections in a bathroom where we'd confined the cats and were patient, kind and, most importantly, brought treats. There was a little hissing, but no histrionics. Typically after a visit to the vet, our cats are out of sorts for a day or two, but after the vet and tech left, they acted like nothing had happened. The only downside: It's a little more expensive than a standard vet (and a LOT more expensive if you buy flea treatment from them) but it's totally worth it if you have an animal that can't handle going out to a vet. South by South Vets is HIGHLY recommended.

About three weeks ago, we had to do the unimaginable. Our oldest pup had kidney failure and we had no choice but to let her go to sleep a final time. We called ahead so the team would be prepared. What I didn't expect was the professionalism, empathy and preparation we received. For starters, they have a private, separate entrance to accommodate the gravity of the situation. You enter into a room where you are given time to spend with your pup and family in these difficult final moments. Only when you're ready do you signal via a silent button for the vet and tech to come in. They explain the process and give you a little more time to say goodbye. After a final confirmation, the process begins and is over quickly. Throughout the process, the technician is stabilizing your pup and saying sweet words to them and us. We had the option to hold the pup ourselves but couldn't. When it was over, we were allowed to remain in the room by ourselves until we were ready to leave through the same private door. I thank Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic for their support, compassion and their private accommodations. I can't think of a more respectful way to handle such a difficult situation. A final comment, they have after death care services available as well.

Dr. Russell was wonderful, she really knows rabbits. She was caring and patient, and clearly explained all of our options and the drawbacks. My bun was having dental problems and Dr. Russell performed two tooth trims. When my rabbit's health deteriorated later, toward the end of his life, she was very gentle when helping me through the difficult decision of euthanasia. Also, the cremation package was lovely. The clinic staff is great, they're responsive and helpful. The office is clean, calm, and organized, even though they are very busy. The only remotely negative comment I can make is that their parking is very tight, but it's manageable. I would highly recommend this vet to care for your rabbit.

A Diagnostic Virtuoso: The "Mozart" of Veterinary Medicine…read more As a retired Clinical Director who has spent a career hiring and evaluating medical professionals, I have an exceptionally high standard for clinical competence and professional integrity. For months, I searched for answers for my 123-pound gentle giant, Axel. I took him to several well-known clinics in Houston, but regrettably, they failed to find even the single mass I had discovered myself. They simply fumbled the opening statement. Then, I found Dr. Anna Parham at PetCare Express on Holcombe Boulevard. Dr. Parham is a true prodigy of her craft. While others relied on expensive overhead and corporate checklists, she used her hands and her clinical intuition--the soul of medicine that is clearly in her DNA. Within minutes, she identified three separate masses that the previous clinics had entirely missed. She performed a single FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) to confirm the nature of the primary mass, while her expert clinical touch immediately identified the others as typical, benign lipomas. She gave us the unremarkable exam result we had been searching for. From the moment we walked into PetCare Express, the entire staff was exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. In a high-pressure field, their genuine caring and support created a seamless, stress-free environment for both me and my dog. Dr. Parham found in minutes what high-priced hospitals missed for months. She recognized a client who values quality and met that standard with an honest, transparent diagnosis. In a city of systemic predatory patterns, Dr. Anna Parham and the team at PetCare Express are a sanctuary of honesty. She is young, brilliant, and possesses a natural mastery of medicine that mirrors a virtuoso. Axel walked out a perfect patient, and I walked out knowing I have finally found the successor to the great legacy vets of Houston.

Now after 3x getting his nails trimmed here my dog actually is pretty calm and doesn't put up such a fight since they made him feel safe. I'm so grateful and indebted to them- especially Michael! He definitely deserves being office manager and hopefully a veterinarian They try their best to keep costs low and solution oriented and are just simply very "just" in morals. Dr parham was also very kind, knowledgeable, and thorough in her examination although it was my first time meeting the Dr in my 10 visits here.
