Retro roller skating rink with arcade, laser tag, snack stand, tables and chairs, and friendly staff doling out roller blades, roller skates, arcade ticket rewards, food and drink make this a classic place to bring family and friends for good family fun.

    Cousins having so much fun

How have I been missing this all my adult life? Last night was a throwback to the 1980's and my childhood roller skating days. This place is a total time warp. Yes the building exterior and interior is quite dated, but this only contributes to its character and charm. I was amazed by the strobe lights, neon colors, wildly patterned carpeting, upbeat music, and the vintage arcade. I rollerblade in my spare time so I'm used to being on skates. It can be a little difficult for some their first time on wheels, but with a little practice you will be skating like a pro in no time. There were a variety of skill levels last night from rookies gracefully face-planting to some professional level skaters showing off their skills out on the floor. This is people-watching at its best, but I mean this in the sincerest way as I was pretty impressed with some of the skaters. Upon arriving you surrender your shoes for a pair of skates and are offered your choice of traditional or inline. Feel free to bring your own skates instead of renting. I went old school with the traditional four wheelers. The music is the best with a variety of 80's pop, dance, and hair metal. They even slowed it down for a "couples skate" to an Air Supply classic. We visted on "Adult Night" and this was ideal as we prefer to skate without having to dodge children. The crowd consisted of varied age groups ranging from 20- 60+ and I was pleased that the rink was not super busy. Not sure if it's the usual Saturday night turnout, but it was nice to have plenty of room out on the floor. Adult skate night runs from 7-10pm and tickets can be purchased ahead of time online at a discounted rate. I am not sure how often this event is offered. Schedules are available on the rink's website. During a little skating break, I fed all my quarters to the Skee-Ball machines and cashed in my tickets for a rubber, glow-in-the-dark chicken to complete my night. A snack bar is available offering pizza, hot dogs, soft drinks, and more. Lazer Tag and karaoke events are on the schedule as well. So much fun under one roof. I had an amazing time last night.

Awful! Dirty, sticky and management falsely advertises. Music is loud you have to plug your ears. Pizza is like eating cardboard.

During my most recent visit for figure skating, multiple front parking spaces were blocked by buses. One bus alone occupied approximately eight parking spots while the driver remained inside with the engine running. This significantly reduced access for paying skaters. When I reported this to the front office, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. I was explicitly told by staff that I "needed to park on the overhang on the hill," despite arriving with skating equipment and multiple bags. No attempt was made to assist, redirect the buses, or offer a reasonable alternative. The manner in which this was communicated was discourteous and left me feeling disregarded as a customer. Unfortunately, similar issues have occurred in the past. On a previous visit, the women's restroom was flooded, and the only accessible stall had ice-cold water. The facility frequently has an unpleasant odor, and overall cleanliness and maintenance appear to be ongoing concerns. Last year in the winter, I encountered a fall stepping out of my car in the parking lot because no maintenance was done to remove ice. Also, the ice is absolutely miserable and resurfacing not done on time, so we often don't get to skate the full 50 minutes that we pay 30 dollars for. As a figure skater - and especially being a woman that gets treated condescendingly and with absolutely zero respect, I have repeatedly felt unwelcome at this facility. Combined with poor parking management, inadequate maintenance, and consistently unprofessional interactions with staff, this creates an environment that does not meet the expectations of a major sports complex. I would expect far better organization, accessibility, and customer service. Until these issues are meaningfully addressed, I cannot recommend this facility.

Their tournaments are a joke. They all put B teams to in the C level & the A teams in the B levels.read more

Still, from what I could see, this looks looks like a very nice city 'green space'. The Worcester Common Oval is where a skating rink is installed in the winter. Prices to skate are reasonable and if you don't have skates, you can rent a pair. In summer concerts and festivals are hosted in this space. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the late 17th century, the Common was 20 acres. The current site is just over four acres. At one point, the Common was used as the militia training ground. Later it was the burying ground and today there are still gravesites located in the park. There are three war memorials inside the park, one of which is a large water fountain, and we noticed two art installations during our visit. Behind the Oval is City Hall making for some really nice photos across the park. There are benches around the park and in winter the pathways were shoveled. I imagine in warmer weather the park is filled with locals enjoying the day. Having lived in a big city, I very much appreciate a public park where you can go and enjoy some open space and the city can host public events. There's no public restroom or atleast I haven't seen one even after living here for a year and visiting it so many many times. Yes there are issues during times and you want to be safe but ask yourself, "Is Central Park in nyc safe around all time of the year and in every nook and corner?" It's in downtown folks. Be wary of the time you visit however big big shout-out to the city for arranging excellent events from time to time. Let's make #wooval kid friendly family friendly gathering place again.
