However, AFTER the assessment Denine et al. let us know that they were unable to accept any residents with a recent 96 hour hold. Why waste our time? We drove 8 hours to make this appointment! If that were the case, why have an assessment? Perhaps there's an an alternative motivation for conducting futile assessments...I'll be making a grievance with MO department of Health and Sr Services. Oak Pointe misinformed and disregarded my family's time and energy. We did not find Oak Pointe's administration to be transparent. Save yourself the used car sales pitch and go elsewhere.

If your parent needs help getting back to their apartment, they charge extra. Parents need to take the shuttle to go to a doctors appointment, pharmacy or grocery store? The shuttle runs on VERY limited hours. They are only in it for the money and don't give a crap about the residents! New director has totally ruined this place!

The facility was negligent in feeding her, wouldn't feed her at times until 7:30pm. To most, this does not seem like a bad time but my mother is a diabetic and insulin dependent. If she doesn't receive food in a timely manner, it could cause her to have a diabetic episode. The therapist at the facility also handled her leg too roughly and fractured a bone so she had to have a second surgery to correct the issue. Due to the facility's negligence, I would highly recommend finding another facility that might be more accommodating.

At one time, this place was THE best in Jefferson City. Unfortunately, over the past 6 or so…read moremonths, staff turnover has been HORRIBLE and thus the quality of care is suffering significantly. The Primrose director has terminated many of the best employees that were here before she came. These employees cared tremendously for the residents and put the residents first. They have now been replaced with people the Primrose director worked with before. These new people are not loyal to Primrose or dedicated to the residents of Primrose, they are loyal and dedicated to the Primrose director. It is normal to have at least one employee fired every week. We have no doubt that the few "original" staff members that are left are sadly, on borrowed time. To meet State requirements, they are having to use agency workers who have no knowledge of the residents and their needs. I have seen these agency workers attempt to give the wrong medicines to the wrong resident. I have seen these agency workers refuse to assist a resident indicating they can't because they do not know how. One of the "selling points" of Primrose was that they don't use Agency healthcare workers- that isn't true. They are having to because of the management of the Primrose director and the resulting staff turnover. This facility provides independent living and assisted living. Many of us are concerned about the staff turnover and the change in the quality of our care. Unfortunately, we are afraid to voice our concerns because of fear that the Primrose director will find a way to get us kicked out of the facility. She is just as vindictive to the residents as she is with the staff. If history repeats itself, the Primrose director will read this review and will not take any personal accountability for the gradual decline of this place. Instead, she will find another employee to blame and terminate, and will continue to run a business and fail to provide a place to call home. But those of us here know, the decline of Jefferson City Primrose rests on the shoulders of the Primrose director and not the staff. If you are looking for a place for independent living, don't stop here- keep looking. If you're looking for assisted living, enter at your own risk- the Primrose director is looking for the cheapest way to take care of you and it shows.
