I injured my knee 6 weeks ago which was swollen, very weak, stiff, and painful to walk on or bend. I started physical therapy 3x a week, which very slowly started to help, but the weakness was still there and the swelling only reduced a little. I had an MRI which showed fluid buildup around the ACL. I went to Gary Sat afternoon, explained what happen, and after a quick examination of my knee, he went to work. And let me tell you, he REALLY went to work. The amount of energy he used to work on me is simply amazing. He has what seems like laser focus as he was able to pin point EXACTLY where the issue was with my knee. He treated me for about 1 hour, and worked on multiple areas that are all connected to the root cause of my knee pain. This is not a massage by any sense of the word. It does hurt when Gary works on you but you're in complete control. You tell him how much pressure you can tolerate while he works on you and he adjusts accordingly. All I can say is his hands work MAGIC! When he was done, I could not believe it but my knee pain was GONE! I mean completely GONE! And so is the swelling! I woke up today Sun thinking ok, I bet some of the pain will be back because there's no way its all gone after only 1 session. Nope, today is the same as yesterday... NO PAIN! I recognize that I was under a great deal of stress, but much of that came from being scared and unfamiliar with what was happening to my health. I was looking for guidance, reassurance, and someone who would listen to what I was experiencing. I was given certain protocols to follow, and I did my best to follow them as instructed. Unfortunately, they did not work for me and actually caused additional issues. What was especially difficult was feeling that my concerns were dismissed because the same approach had worked for other patients. I understand that a treatment may be successful for many people, but every person and every body is different. When something wasn't working for me, I really needed to feel heard and taken seriously. I'm sure the doctor has helped many people and that others may have had very different experiences. I can only speak to my own. For me, the experience left me feeling unheard and invalidated during a time when I was already scared and vulnerable. The appointments were also quite expensive, which added to my disappointment. I hesitated for a long time before writing this because I don't like leaving negative reviews, especially after so many years. However, the experience had a lasting impact on me, and I still carry some of those feelings today. I hope that sharing my experience can serve as a reminder of how important it is for patients to feel heard, especially when they are struggling or when a treatment is not working as expected. Here's an example of the care she's provided to me: I was dirt biking with my adult son in December 2020 when I had an unplanned, violent dismount into a rocky berm. After returning home, I wanted to crawl in bed and not move. My wife, however, contacted Dr. Edwards who immediately evaluated my condition via a video call. That's right, Dr. Edwards completed an evaluation on a Saturday afternoon within minutes of me crawling into bed! Dr. Edwards persuaded your hardheaded reviewer that I needed to get to an ER, ASAP. She then called two hospitals to find the best facility to provide the proper diagnostic testing and care. When I showed up, the attending physician was expecting me, and the appropriate diagnostic tests were promptly performed. As it turned out, I suffered significant internal injuries that subsequently required transfer to a San Diego level 1 trauma hospital. The day after my discharge, Dr. Edwards came to our home to check on me. That's right, she made a house call!! She talked to the manager and told me that, not only can they not provide me a refund, but I can come in to redeem the credit for only one IV session since their prices went up. I was upset by this because it's not like I was asking for a refund for a service I was unhappy with, but for a credit that I clearly cannot use since my move. I explained to her that I had paid cash for the promotion that didn't come with any stipulations. I didn't sign anything and the person who sold it to me didn't tell me about any rules that came along with the promotion. The receptionist danced around the best she could, explaining to me that "most people usually use the service within a year" and offered me a vitamin B shot instead, which is worth less than an IV session...I declined and asked to speak to the manager, but, of course, she told me that they were unavailable. I asked that the manager please call me back later that day to discuss this matter further and left my number. I still, to this day, have not heard back from anyone. To me, this is pretty piss poor service and unprofessional. They basically are ignoring me so that they don't have to pay me the $380 back. It's not like it's $20. This is a big chunk of money that they've held on to and collected interest on.
