She was consistent, knowledgeable, and strategic with my treatment. And make sure you are consistent because acupuncture doesn't work over night. Give Jen a few months, and you won't regret it! Also, make sure you communicate with her what works for you and what doesn't. She is incredible, but she's not a mind reader. Thanks a bunch, Jen, for restoring my quality of life and taking away my daily pain!

My experience with Dr. Tsai was in 2017. Prior to seeing Dr. Tsai I had reoccurring hives that…read morestarted on my upper arms - they'd appear everyday for an hr & subside. I used histamines; but in spite of that, they soon progressed to my lower arms, the back of my thighs, then all over my body. They'd occur more often lasting longer periods, sometimes in the middle of the night. I tried baking soda baths among other remedies, but nothing worked, and I felt desperate for relief! Chinese medicine is known to cure the root cause, and not just simply treat symptoms; my search lead me here. Dr. Tsai did tell me the first week would be difficult, as the symptoms would express even more in the process of purging. That happened. Over the course of 6 months I visited weekly or biweekly. In that period, I had 3 different prescriptions of Chinese herbal medicine, that I'd brew to take 3 times a day. (I will say after a month and a half I had no more hive breakouts.) The medicine is no cake walk, but I wanted to never experience another breakout so I stayed the course. I can say I've never had one to this day. Dr. Tsai's skills and bedside manners are impeccable! I've mentioned him to friends over the years in conversation, even after moving out of CA. Preface, I've never left a review for anything, I'm leaving this now because I've always wanted to; and I've just come off conversing/recommending him again to a family acquaintance that lives in CA. I remain so appreciative of his care!

I had never done acupuncture before this and am not a big fan of needles, but Dr. Scarlett was extremely supportive and taught me a breathing exercise tip that helped me feel less anxious, that also ended up helping me while I was doing my stims at home. For the most part you barely feel the needles go in and she helped prepare me and was extra gentle for any that she thought I might feel more. The experience while the needles are in is extremely relaxing and meditative. Since IVF schedules are already overwhelming I wasn't sure if adding acupuncture appointments to the mix was going to make it more so, but it was the complete opposite. Overall, I felt that my acupuncture appointments gave me time I needed to be present and feel more grounded with my body and mind during a time when I was asking so much of it, and also gave me a positive association with needles. I responded well to the IVF stims with my only side effects being bloating (to be expected), the results of my retrieval being favorable, and my recovery being smooth. I truly believe that my IVF experience went as smoothly as it did thanks to the personalized treatment plan, tips, and encouragement Dr. Scarlett provided. I will definitely be back to Red Lotus/to work with Dr. Scarlett for all my future acupuncture wellness needs, cannot recommend her enough!

I couldn't sit, I couldn't lay down and my lower back and my entire lower abdomen was locked up. I was relying on pain management for over a week with no clear answers. I even went to my trusted chiropractor but got zero relief. I had heard acupuncture could help and at that point I was willing to try anything. I found Cai on Yelp and got in same day to see her. She assessed me and figured out my pain wasn't stemming from a joint, which is what everyone else thought. She identified two muscles that had been strained and went to work for 2 hours, with needles on both my front and my back. In one session my pain is 90% gone and I'm totally amazed at how much better I feel. She has made me a believer and I will now be back any time I need some relief. Thank you so much Cai

Highly recommend acupuncture with Cai's Clinic of Acupuncture if you are starting to suffer from frozen shoulders due to hormonal changes; I am 63 and I know that's what caused my frozen shoulder. I began visiting her once per month for deep tissue massage with cupping, and slowly but surely I have been able to heal. Both my husband and I have a regularly-scheduled monthly session and could not survive life without it! My parents and family friends have also visited her regularly over the years; she is indispensable to our health and well-being regimen. Her office is impeccably clean and tidy. In fact, the environment is aesthically calming in its zen-like simplicity. There is soothing music and revitalizing essential oils diffusing through the air. The table is always warm, the bedding cozy and comfortable, and her technique is consistently healing and thorough. I especially appreciate that even though I see her regularly, she always takes great care at the beginning of each session to check in with me and diagnose her treatment plan for the hour based on how I am feeling. Sometimes she uses the cups, which are very effective. Other times the session is much less intense and I have to peel myself off the table after having such a relaxing treatment. Her approach is customized and truly holistic each time. She helps to heal from the inside out with both massage and nutrition, which is rare amongst masseuses.
