Last week, I was sitting in my den minding my own business with my two little dogs watching a Korean drama on Netflix. It was about 12:30 AM, and I was waiting for the rain to stop long enough for me to get them out for their final run. It didn't seem like the rain would ever let up that night. The rain was causing a loud dripping noise on the window sill just behind the sofa where I was sitting. I kept waiting for that to stop so I would know the rain had ended. Then, suddenly, I started hearing a different dripping sound that sounded like it was in the room with me. I turned on the big light and listened. The sound seemed to be coming from the fireplace. I grabbed the flashlight I use to when the dogs go out and shined it at the fireplace. I was shocked to see a constant stream of water coming from the front of it. I quickly got a bucket from the garage and watched in horror as it slowly filled. I knew I could not go to bed until the rain stopped. I looked on Weatherbug and saw that the rain should end at around 2:00 AM. I kept watching my K-drama while I waited. Once, I emptied the bucket when it was getting full. Finally, just as predicted, the rain stopped a little after 2:00. I let the dogs out for their run, gave them their bedtime treat, dumped the bucket one more time, and went up to bed. I had no idea where or why the fireplace was leaking. I called Roland's Roofing because they are within walking distance of my house. In fact, I have walked past them for years when taking exercise walks. The man I spoke with said he could have someone at the house to check it out the next morning. Someone came and looked at the situation, figured out the problem, and promised to send me an estimate for repairs. That was on Friday, so I knew I wouldn't hear from them until Monday, and it did arrive by email early Monday Morning. It had a contract with it that I could sign virtually and return. A few minutes after I signed the contract, a lady from Roland's called and asked if she could send a repairman to do the fix the next morning. I was more than willing to clear my schedule- not knowing when we would get more rain. I was really surprised and honored when Roland, the owner of the company, came with his roof man to personally check out the situation. He explained what would happen from start to finish before taking off. His roof man, Carlos, left to get supplies before getting to work on it. After a few hours the repairs were made, and Carlos was gone. I got an invoice by email for the exact amount of the estimate. There were no additional costs for materials. It rained today, and there is absolutely no indication that there is still a leak anywhere. Roland's Roofing fixed the problem completely, super quickly, and definitely inexpensively. I have just tried to resolve a problem with Melissa at Roland's Roofing. Candace answered the phone and told me Melissa was out of the office for the day. I laughed and said I wasn't surprised. She must have seen my last name on the caller ID. My husband had called earlier, and he was expecting a callback. He never received one. I thought Melissa might be dodging our calls. I explained my problem, and Candace and I worked everything out. Moments later, I received a call from Melissa, who apparently was in the office. She was very angry, wouldn't let me speak, and accused me of using inappropriate language. My husband heard the entire call and agrees that I conducted myself civilly. She kept at me, saying she's sent numerous itemized bills (which was one of the things we needed.) I checked my husband's email, and he had no itemized bill from Roland's. I told her that my husband had prominent friends and we would not recommend the company again, based on her behavior, not on the work that was done. The work was excellent. In the meantime, I finally received an itemized bill. I called her back to find out why they were billing us for repairs to a shed we never had, and she again was rude. She said a non-employee heard me talking about someone's father and using inappropriate language. It was completely bizarre. All I wanted to do was make sure that when I paid them, I was paying for work that was actually done. I didn't want my insurance carrier to ask me for money back when they discovered they paid in error. It could have been so easy. But it wasn't. read more

I have to admit, I was a little suspicious of this place. Okay, dear reader, you need context. I was looking for a house to buy and I really liked this one. But I couldn't commit. When I started asking questions about it, found out it needed roof work and the seller was going to get it done before closing any sale. So I kept driving by and looking at the house and I remember noticing a roofing company truck parked in the drive, but I didn't think anything of it. Next thing you know it, I'm buying the house and they are preparing to get the roof done by Roland's Roofing. Well come to find out that was the same truck in the drive. So needless to say I was concerned about a possible conflict of interest. I'm any event, the company was really great. I asked the seller if I could make some decisions on the color and style since I'm going to have to live with it. Hear I am, with actual no ownership interest in the home and they were super helpful. I was sent options and colors and was able to upgrade for a nominal charge. And despite some weather challenges (like a huge fall thunderstorm) they got the roof on right before I closed on the sale. And the roof is beautiful and will look even more spectacular once the house is painted. read more

So I reached out to this company for roofing repair / replacement secondary to an inspection report for the sale of my house. I send them all the paperwork and hear nothing. One day someone knocks on my door stating they just tried to call me and was here to inspect the roof. The young man was here maybe 10 minutes tops if that. I asked about an estimate he shared not really taking the measurements for it was hit outside and the roof was slippery. He shared once I got the insurance appraisal information to give him a call. I suggest, I am not comfortable with giving a call if his company is unable share their findings of my roof to assist with my insurance claim. He was like oh okay, I will send an estimate later or at least send you pictures. Let's just say, I had to reach back out to Roland's Roofing to get that estimate that didn't arrive. Today, I get a text message asking if I saw the estimate. I reached out to the young lady and made mention some of my concerns weren't addressed. She stated she would look into it. It was very easy to deal with this company. Daniel gave a prompt, pro estimate to repair wind damage. Explained alot about our insurance policy that the company never actually explained. Repairs followed soon after. We had gallons of rain leaking in before. As Carlos was finishing his repairs, there was a torrential downpour. We thought we were due for a repeat with leaks. Carlos worked in the very heavy rain to finish it up and ensure it wouldn't leak. He was soaked head to toe, like he fell in a lake. Scrap pieces were literally floating in our front yard & Carlos kept working like a machine. He finished, cleaned up, and our roof didn't leak a drop!! Roland's was recommended to me for replacement of solar vent fans on my roof. I filled out their request for an estimate on their website and I was contacted the next day and set an appointment for the following morning. The gentleman who came out was very polite, took photos and assured me he'd have an estimate to me by that afternoon. Four days later I still haven't received an estimate or heard from anyone. I contacted the office and spoke with a woman who asked for my address and said she would text me what I needed but I never heard from her or received any texts or emails. I called to schedule time for rep to come out and provide me a quote, and no one ever showed up. My appt was from 10am-12pm, I called to ask what happened and was told that there were no 2hr windows after the receptionist looked again she saw that I was given that window of time but rep was held up at another location. There was no apology for wasting my time from work and was told that no one needed to be home to inspect roof which blew me away because I had not spoken to anyone of actual leak location inside my home and I wasnt leaving my gate open all day for them to show up whenever. I asked if they could come by after I got off of work at 6pm since I was going to make a decision today (and they wasted my time), and was told "NO". On top of no apology receptionist said "You gotta do what you gotta do" extremely unprofessional. We had asked Alamo Handyman to fix a leak in our roof, and they turned the job over to their sister company Roland's Roofing. The appraiser came over to assess the job and give us what we considered a very fair estimate. Work began a few days later. The roofer replaced some of the plywood, installed new flashing and about 100 sq ft of shingles. He finished the job quickly and cleaned up after himself. A few days after the roofing job was done, we had one of the heaviest rainstorms I've seen in years. I was nervous about the roof, but we didn't get a single drop in the house. The roof is well and truly fixed! Unfortunately, some of the Hardiplank siding was damaged during the work. When I pointed this out, they sent over a siding guy to fix it. They gave me one of the damaged pieces so I could match the paint. Looks good as new! Roland's is right on price and quality. And I appreciated their responsiveness to fixing something that went wrong. Give 'em a call! read more

These guys went above and beyond, even during covid. My Roofing was a more complex issue then a standard composition roof, as I have a flat area that has been nothing but problems over the last 10 to 15 years, with ponding and leaks, as well as 44 squares of composition Roofing. Brian and Robert were very responsive and helped me to make the decision to put TPO on the flat area, as well as a 15 by 50 foot patio cover. To make things even more complex I requested copper metallic standing seam over the front overhang. It did take a little while to get it, since it was such a small amount, but the final result is amazing. I chose Roland's mainly because of Brian's quick response; never did I not get an answer to my phone call immediately if not within a minute. With three separate types of roofs to be installed, I feel they did an amazing job, and after our downpour of a couple weeks ago , there was one small Skylight leak which they immediately took care of. I would recommend these guys to anyone, especially if you have multiple Roofing request. read more

Sigh. So PRO: the customer service I've gotten after the first appointment has been AMAZING. Bryan has been super responsive and downright kind. HOWEVER CON: my roof is STILL leaking. They've come out twice, given me a few different 'reasons' why they think I have a leak, only to have water pouring in my house at the next rain. The last time they came, they sealed flashing they'd previously repaired that they said was maybe leaking. It looks horrible--like I did it myself (which says a lot since I suck). So much for home value! I contacted another company who assessed the problem, and they informed me that the flashing that Roland's repaired were done incorrectly and it was obvious what was causing the leak--Roland's just didn't address it. So now I have to spend money to have the leak fixed again, and the interior damage to my home fixed again. I emailed Bryan requesting a full refund and he was sympathetic. He said he would get back with me, so I will update as it unfolds. If there is no response, I will be taking further action since I've nested so much time into this. Contacted them after a hail storm to get an inspection of damage on metal roof. Technician Danny showed up on time but my wife immediately noticed he had a boot on his foot. After walking the yard with my wife he proceeded to tell her that all of the damage was cosmetic. He did not get on the roof and inspect the chimney or anything else. My wife asked if we could get an estimate to fix any damage at which point he took a single picture of the roof and told her he would see if they could even repair it or we would just need a new roof. When I got home my wife filled me in so we called another company to come look at it. The second company found that the flashing around my chimney and the vents on my workshop were all damaged and allowing water into the house. I am currently waiting on an estimate from the second company. Never thought I would see the day where a roofing company would come to inspect damage and not even get on the roof. Update: Received a call from the owner this morning to discuss the situation involving the inspection. Owner was very apologetic and willing to make amends for this in any way necessary. I informed him that I had received an estimate from another company and felt it right to extend the business to them but appreciated the call and resolution. This is the type of service that will have me willing to try them again in the future. read more

The service was great, workers were great, very friendly and courteous. Daniel was very helpful and quick to respond when needed. We needed help because we had a hole in the roof. We ended up getting the whole roof replaced since it was already very old. We called Roland's on a Monday and Daniel was able to come and give an estimate the following day. That Friday he ordered the materials which were dropped off the Monday following. Roland's replaced my roof in November 2018. Their estimate was quite a bit above two others, but they showed me where those estimates weren't completely complete, and the kicker was they could do the job in a couple weeks not a couple months like the others. Recently a small leak developed at the roof junctions of the house, garage, and poorly designed patio room addition, and recent heavy rains revealed it was a big problem. They sent out Pancho (I think that's his name) from the original crew, he looked, made temporary repairs, and said I'd be on the schedule. But before he left, he said something about my fireplace I didn't understand, and spent a good amount of time there correcting some flashing, a problem I didn't even know about! And that schedule was today, Pancho was right on time and got to work. I wondered how the small leak and other damage caused would be handled, but he took out a good section of decking and flat roof covering, and some shingles, and replaced absolutely everything that needed replaced and then some and did a great job that took all day. They just finished my roof yesterday, and did my mom's roof last week.
