After that excellent experience, I decided to bring my hubby for a Sunday brunch. I was VERY satisfied with their brunch menu! I could not believe the amount of food and drink that we both received--it was almost too much (in fact, we did take some breads home with us). When it comes to drinks, like pastries, they don't skimp on quality. The fresh-squeezed juices are terrific and the coffee baristas really know what they're doing. I ordered a coffee on Easter Sunday that was delish and had a hot cocoa most recently. The raspberry juice was so great that my hubby, who was feeling a little under the weather, had two! The ambiance is what you would expect from a French cafe in the city. It's a smaller space but I recommend sitting outside if you can. We sat in the far back courtyard and despite the cold temps outside, we were cozy thanks to the warm heat lamps and they also provide blankets! I highly recommend this spot for the friendly service (even if your Spanish is not great) and really delicious food. THE BAKED GOODS: All around the baked good area there is bread and pastries laid out on tables, racks, and stored in refrigerators if perishable. There is a big bread/pastry display in the middle of the area and an area where the bread is stocked in little open cabinets. I don't know what my pastries were called but they weren't that great I have to say. The one that had either strawberry or raspberry on top -- I expected it to be soft and jam-like but it was semi-hard and gummy. The one that looks like a piece of lemon pie -- the crust was not flavorful and the filling was bland. THE TIPS: They have a deli station where you can order sandwiches and some items out of their oven such as calzones, sopaipillas (a kind of fried pastry), mediaslunas (croissant-style pastries), brownies, kuchen sureno (pie), and queques (muffins).

I was torn between the veggie quiche (zucchini, tomato, basil) and the chicken avocado sandwich. The hubs couldn't decide if he wanted the chicken curry salad or the roast beef one. Ultimately, we ended up with zucchini quiche and curry salad. Both were great! The hubby's salad had coconut flakes and deliciously seasoned curry chicken. I was impressed with the size of the quiche and the perfectly flaky crust. To drink, he had raspberry juice and I had limeade. After our lunch dishes were cleared, we received our coffees and a little coconut cookie on the side. A perfect ending to a lovely lunch.
