Horrified of the etiquette of Roya. The "manager". Roya has been incredibly rude and incredibly malicious in my interactions with her. Not once has anyone else at Westlake dental treated me anywhere near the way Roya has treated me. There was no attempt to be understanding, kind, or patient. Or professional! Paying for dental care is a painful financial hardship. Even with insurance support, what comes out of pocket can be strenuous. Especially for single income households. Haven't gone over my financial limitations and setting up a payment plan with the doctor, I have been treated terribly by Roya, when it came to scheduling and collecting payments. The doctor assured me that I would be taken care of, that they would be accommodating to payment plans, and I truly cannot believe the extremely rude and Disrespectful Way, Roy has spoken to me regarding payment collection. It truly disgust me that others would simply not care for being decent to a customer at your place at work. Wouldn't even let me explain, immediately attacked me with harsh words and outright rude comments and aggression. I complained to the actual "" manager and was apologized too, and told I would not have to deal with Roya again moving forward with this very much needed and expensive dental procedure. Only to be blocked by Roya when trying to schedule the final appointments of my procedure. Intentional malice, intentional aggression. I cannot believe anyone would employ somebody to handle Customer Service, or B of help to customers trying to pay for medical treatment. Shame on Roya for how you treat people. Shame on Westlake dental for employing such a crude person. Dental care is stressful enough, no need to be ugly and put ugliness out there in the world. And to make peoples lives harder, who are already fighting through hardships. Disgusted.

So when I say that Dr. Benjamin Sun is the best dentist I have ever had in my 78 years, I mean that sincerely. I was in pain from a lower right gum infection. I procrastinated like crazy and let the pain from the infection get worse all week until I left a message with his emergency line late Saturday night -- Dr. Sun called me at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday and prescribed an antibiotic for me. Dr. Sun makes each of his patients feel incredibly important and special. He then discovered that one of my old root-canal molars had cracked which caused a gum infection and explained all of my options to me. What impressed me most was that he never pressured me into getting an implant. He told me that I could have the tooth extracted and, if the cost of an implant was too much, I could simply leave it out. He wanted me to make the decision that was right for me. At one point I told him, "I'm 78 and at the end of my life." He looked at me and said, "You may be surprised -- I've known people who live into their 90s." That simple comment made me feel young again. I went home and discussed everything with my husband, Paul, and we decided to go ahead with the implant. I have never felt so comfortable and respected by a dentist. Dr. Sun is kind, honest, patient, and genuinely concerned about his patients rather than trying to sell them treatment. His office staff is very warm and makes the visit pleasant. I give Dr. Sun an A+ and a gold star! If I could give him more than five stars, I absolutely would. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for an exceptional dentist -- especially someone who is nervous or afraid of dental work.

When I learned that the Drs. Beierle were retiring, I wondered how things might change. It has been my happy experience to see that the practice continues to grow in heart and care - the physical space and each person who works there have created such an inviting atmosphere that I believe it only attracts professionals who the same desire for excellent, compassionate care. Over the last three years, I made a decision with counseling and support from this office to try to correct bite deficiencies with braces so that I can repair and preserve my teeth and smile unashamedly again. It was a tough enough decision on its own, but made tougher by its beginning just about a month before the whole country closed down due to the Covid pandemic. Over this time, I have had numerous calls from the office saying, Dr. Vik or Dr. Joe would like to see me to check on my progress. There has never been a charge for those calls and visits, and recently Dr. Vik arranged his schedule so that he could attend my orthodontic appointment at a different practice so that he could ask questions, offer his observations and to help him prepare for the work I want him to do after my braces are removed. This is extraordinary care! I told my long-serving Dental Hygienist, Deanne recently how much I appreciate that she and the doctors are always observing, always encouraging, and always advocating for their patients. Not too long ago Dr. Luthra joined the practice when Dr. Jan Beierle retired. Today I had to have a filling replaced and I am so happy with Dr. Luthra. I was really nervous going in because I hate getting Novacaine and usually find that for whatever reason I stay numbed for a crazy long time after getting a filling. Dr. Luthra was great. He not only put up with my nervous bullshit but numbed the tooth directly and here I am an hour later feeling perfectly normal with no residual numbing. Really nice guy and obviously quite skilled. He did not say a word to me. The nurse came in and told me to go to an oral surgeon. Not how long has this been hurting? is any other part of your mouth In pain? NOT ONE WORD. At that point, I was crying and asked could he at least give me something for pain and was told he couldn't because he didn't know what it was. I was crying so hard and said I couldn't even touch my tongue to the area, that was very clear but he gave me nothing. I walked out extremely upset and no one did a thing. I had been to this dentist before and it was the same then - whatever dentist you got that day, if you were lucky, walked in, worked on your teeth, asked and said nothing, then left. Please please do yourself a big favor and go ANYWHERE else. I have never written a bad review in my life but I had to give everyone a warning so don't say you weren't warned.
