After having a tooth extraction with another well-known oral surgeon, I was in pain for 7 years. I went back to that oral surgeon many times. I went to Kaiser, USC, UCLA, and several other oral specialists. Each one told me that there was "nothing wrong, it was nerve pain". I ended up going on medication that I didn't want to take, thinking it would be the rest of my life. Then I saw Dr. Brucker for another matter. While there, I told him of my troubles. Dr. Bruckner took me seriously. He investigated. He found that the bone where the tooth had been extracted was sharp and causing the pain. He performed a simple surgery, smoothing the bone. That was a month ago and it has healed correctly and today the pain is gone. This doctor is brilliant and caring. His staff is superb. Let me start by saying I'm deathly afraid of the dentist and haven't been in 11 years. I had to go because I was having issues with an impacted wisdom tooth. From the first initial phone call to the surgery with Dr. Bruckner this office went above and beyond! We were referred to Dr. Bruckner from Simi Children's Dentist for our 5 year old. I was slightly hesitant at first as he is not known as a pediatric oral surgeon, but as soon as we met him I knew he was the man for the job! From the moment we walked in the door his staff made us comfortable. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They called the hospital and arranged for a room for our daughter, so everything was ready as soon as we got to there! The surgery went smoothly and we were ready to go home the following morning after a quick appointment at his office. He called me that night and explained what needed to be done! I made an appointment for first thing the morning he was open again. Worst experience I have ever had within the dental field. Doctor Bruckner has no bed side manner what so ever. He was rude and insulting. I had four wisdom teeth removed, and ended up with dry socket syndrome in one of the sockets. It had been that way from day one after the surgery and he neglected to tell me, and it wasn't brought up until I asked about the unbearable pain at the 1 week follow up. Avoid at all costs. Ask friends and family if they have some one they can recommend you to, even if you have to drive out of your way. All of his former patients I have spoke to have had the same opinions of his bed side manner. If you don't have super thick skin, this is not the place for you. read more

No one wants ANY surgery-especially oral surgery but I recently needed it and was referred to Dr.Bruckner. The office staff was very accommodating ,explained everything to me and helped me with my insurance. Dr. Bruckner was very professional ,explained everything to me after my exam and answered all my questions. The procedure was completed quickly and efficiently and WITHOUT any discomfort at all. He personally called me later in the day to make sure I was OK and that I understood all the directions. Dr Bruckner removed a tumor that had destroyed most of the bone in my lower jaw and surrounding tissue. The tumor on X-ray looked like something out of a monster movie, it was devastating to see. Dr Bruckner walked in unphased by the Rick Baker zombie picture on the screen and assured without any hesitation he could repair my face. I found Dr Bruckner very funny but with an All Business face seldom cracks a smile but, he does. The surgery took several hours and from what he said was quite involved. Dr Bruckner bone grafted from the second premolar on each side, about 85% of my lower jaw. The surgery center we used was the best. The staff here was awesome, even my wife waiting in lobby area agrees. I had very little pain and quick recovery. I had surgery Wed and felt like I could have return to work Friday if it wasn't for the pain medication made me feel well...medicated. my face and jaw look perfect, hard to believe but I may look even more handsome than I did before surgery. To add My mother in-law who trusts only maybe Ronald Reagan is a fan of Dr Bruckner who pulled wisdom teeth from her Daughter and my niece, so if she gives him high marks you should trust him. So happy with how everything turned out, the fact he could repair my face was amazing, hero type of amazing. I recently had two extremely painful and infected wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Bruckner. His staff was extremely friendly and his anesthesiologists were the sweetest! Dr. Bruckner is not the most talkative but he is extremely thorough and to the point. He let me know exactly what I needed to do pre and post operation and how to prevent infection. He also gave me a xanax to take an hour before surgery in order to calm me down. I was so relaxed that I hardly remember them putting me under. The procedure lasted about 10 minutes and I was asleep for it all. They covered me in blankets and put chapstick on my lips to keep from getting dry! I felt like my mom was there lol. I nursed my surgery site really well for about 7 days and had no issues or pain whatsoever. The stitches dissolved easily and the open cavities fused together within days. The doctor was also on call 24/7. I had a question at 11pm one night and I got ahold of him within minutes. Having my wisdom teeth removed was something I never wanted to face because I freak out with any pain! He changed that for me! I have to have 2 more wisdom teeth removed and I legitimately can't wait to take another week off work and eat ice cream and oat meal non stop! I highly recommend him for anyone looking to have an extraction. Never have I ever felt so taken care of. read more

I had an infection surrounding one of my wisdom teeth. I was in excruciating pain and needed relief. I have a busy work schedule and needed to have it extracted as soon as possible. Dr. Bruckner gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and scheduled the extraction on my lunch break. He was able to take the tooth out using only local anesthesia, I felt nothing, and the best part......... I was able to return work later that day. Dr. Bruckner removed my daughter's 4 wisdom teeth, which included some that were impacted. He did an excellent job and she recovered nicely with no issues. She had no side effects from anesthesia. There was always someone there to answer our questions during recovery. Office staff was amazing with my insurance, which I didn't even know would cover part of it. They scheduled my daughter at a moments notice so she could still use that insurance since she was up against an age requirement. Dr Bruckner even helped me out when I almost fainted while listening to the postop instructions. They spent 20 minutes with me (A nurse literally sat by my side) and made sure I was OK. Pleasant experience all-around, including my first-ever general anesthesia. I'm 4.5 days out now and doing great -- a little sore, but no pain. Our family has been coming to Dr. Bruckner for several years now. He and his staff are so nice and comforting at all times. Just as all the other nice reviews said, Dr. Bruckner called the evening after our dental surgeries also. His assistants were always so helpful, and never left our side after the procedure until we left the office. In September, I had two extractions and three implants put in, as well as some bone graphing all during one surgery. I never, and I repeat never, had one second of pain or discomfort from the procedure at any time. I never even had to take one pain pill from the procedure. Dr. Bruckner is a true professional and never had I or any other family member had a complication after any dental extraction or surgery procedure. In addition, Dr. Bruckner new I had an unusual situation and had only certain hours I could make it in for the surgery. He worked around my hours, and said he'd work through their lunch hour if the surgery were to become more complicated after he got started. Another plus, the implants were able to be implanted the same day as the extractions, which most Dentist never do. They usually always make it heal first. Well this cut 6 wks off the time so I could have the crowns put on 6 wks sooner (meaning less time being toothless) I think the implants being put in the same day also reduced any possibility of pain or excessive bleeding. I could not say one bad thing about Dr. Bruckner or any of his staff! Each and everyone of them treated me so kindly at all my visits. I believe he's the best oral surgeon if you need any dental extractions or implants. He's now put in 4 implants on me, and one on my son, and we both feel the same way. read more

I just moved to Simi Valley and woke up on thursday with a swollen cheek and in pain from my bottom wisdom tooth. Didn't know who to call so i relied on yelps suggestion. They were completely right Dr Bruckner saw me the same day and told me my tooth was infected and i needed it out and also need my other bottom one out thats why my pain was so bad. Thank goodness he said he could do it that day because i would have suffered the whole fourth of july weekend. He had to do it under just novicane because i had eaten that day not knowing i was having surgery. He gave me a sedative to relax and i didn't feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure. This review is for anyone who needs, or anyone who has a child that needs braces/oral surgery in Simi Valley. Dr. Bruckner took no care in communicating with my general dentist and orthodontist and as a result NEGLECTED TO PULL 2 out of the 9 teeth he was supposed to pull in the surgery! He then hurried me into his office because he collected money from the insurance company for a tooth he did not pull, which is, yes, you guessed it, INSURANCE FRAUD. Months later, I come to find out that a tooth he claimed to have pulled during my original surgery, IS STILL IN MY MOUTH!!!! He then blamed me, the patient, claiming I did not come to my required post-operation appointments, even though NO APPOINTMENTS WERE SCHEDULED AND HE CLAIMED MY TREATMENT "WAS COMPLETE." He also blamed my orthodontist and general dentist (who was barely even involved in the whole fiasco! Since this is a review on a public forum and I am entitled to express my opinion, I would STRONGLY SUGGEST NO ONE VISIT DR. BRUCKNER.
