Open Mic Blues Jam at Roger's Place

It's a lovely little low-key place! It's a great place to relax, but I'm not a fan of the stools and tall tables. The don't serve much in the way of food, except for hot dogs. The bartender is nice and remembered details about me even though I hadn't been in a couple months. Great service! Edit to include more details: I'm not sure about the type of beer they serve. Normal? All I know if my cider isn't an option. Live music is performed on most nights. They have amazing bands. And if you smoke (you shouldn't) there's a cover smoker's patio (which you shouldn't use because you shouldn't smoke).

This place is awesome for what I like. Quiet, low key, fair drink prices and snacks!! It's in little strip mall on the end and they have an outside covered seating smoking area. Smoking is no longer allowed inside but that's ok. Great people and good convos all night!! Their Chili dog and fries is fantastic.

Roger's was the first bar I went to when I moved to Knoxville in 1978. Still go there weekly. Fun place with good hot dogs and live music.

Tried this place as recommended by a friend. It was great. The food and service was great. Johnny Carson recommended this place on his show.

It's definitely a nice getaway in Knoxville for those that like to game in a lively environment and enjoy time with friends and family. And on top of that, it's also great that this and the other parts of the same chain (Bit Burger, Space Bar) are near each other in the same area as well. Makes for a lot of great food service for what you can order (that will be similar at the other spots). The staff has always been (10+ visits) nice and responsive to any requests. The drinks are fun but I like to personally stick to some snacking. I have found the buffalo wraps and mini hot dogs to be the ticket. The pinball machines have a lot of variety and art to admire in them. There are also other board and video game options for those that don't like pinball. I know you'll see us there - so definitely say hi! SYOY!

The corn dogs were fine but likely frozen. The salsa with the chips felt canned. I didn't try the other food but did order a burger from next door Bit Burger with an extra service charge. I ordered the Mega Man, a burger with cheddar, caramelized onions and white BBQ sauce. I didn't taste much of the white sauce and thought the side potato salad was okay, but I did like that they make them smash burgers. As a boba fan I also ordered one of the poppin sodas so that was fun. Overall Token Tavern is a fun place to go with a group of geeks like myself!

I counted 23 taps of beer at the bar, virtually every style is covered, an impressive number and the three we tried were excellent. I had the West Coast IPA and my wife had the Oktoberfest and the Black Rice Lager. The service was excellent. Instead of going for the pizza, which they have a lot of, we went with the Pretzel and beer cheese which my wife liked better than I did. The real star was the Muffuletta sandwich which hands down was the best version of this sandwich I've ever had. The Olive spread had diced jalapeño in it so pretty spicy and oh so good. So between the many taps and that sandwich, CBB West gets a five star.

I assume they call themselves 'BIT' because they have old arcade games. It came with tater tots. I think I paid extra for the tots. Tasty cheesesteak. Somewhere along the way, Tennesseans decided green peppers belong on a cheesesteak. We liked our beers. Crafty Bastard was hosting some kind of event. It was a little distracting. That could be why I have very little video of the beer. And/or, it doesn't look like Jordan is enjoying herself. KIDS!!!

It's in a weird, kind of out-of-the- way shopping center, next to a movie theater that's been turned into one of those odd evangelical worship centers (I wouldn't say "church"). That adds to the appeal I think. The staff are friendly and fun, which is what you'd expect in this kind of place. Some of the customers were cosplaying the night we were there, which again added to the fun atmosphere. Even the backlit menus are fun! We had 2 of their most popular cocktails: the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster (named for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) and the Turing Test. The former comes with a buzz button, which is a seed that makes your mouth tingle. They tell you to take a drink, then chew the buzz button, then take another drink. I found the initial taste of the drink sort of one note. But after the buzz button, when I took another drink, I could taste the many layers of ingredients they use in this drink. It was definitely better. The Turing Test was supposed to have a walnut-ish taste. It was good, but the walnut ingredients were pretty low key. We had a huge lunch the day we went here, so we ordered some of their light bar fare as dinner. The Orbital Cheese was surprisingly good: crunchy parmesan pesto crostini bread that was wonderful on its own, but also really good with the melted feta cheese and tomato dipping sauce. The Rack of Rhynark included bacon, sausage, a few roasted potatoes and a (bland) slaw sort of thing made with radishes or cabbage or something along those lines. This dish was okay -- the bacon being the best thing about it. You don't really come here for the food though anyway, it's the weird drinks and the atmosphere. It's worth a visit!

Neon lighting is everywhere, and the EXCELLENT service are all trained to verbally communicate as if you're in a space lounge. You're greeted at the front door with a funny line like, "Hello Captain, are you ready to greet your crew?" Then smoke surrounds you as the room "air locks", then a host brings you into the bar. The immersion is so fun! Most surprising were the menus, which you open and they glow in illuminated light... very futuristic. The drinks we ordered were absinthe specials, which were served in creative and smoky ways. Note: these were strong drinks :P I saw food at other tables and the pizza looked great. All in all, this bar is so immersive and I can't wait to return!
