My husband bought me a beautiful cross necklace a few years ago at Liberty jewlers in Fremont Michigan. Recently, the clasp broke. So I took it in for repair. They told me that they would give me a call to let me know how much the repair would be for this little tiny clasp. Ok. A week later I get a call that my necklace has been repaired and the cost is $88! They had never called to get my approval. So, I go in to pick up my necklace. Well, guess what? Somehow the chain got LONGER. Did they replace the clasp or give me a different chain in a switch? I complained. They just said "sorry". Fast forward 6 weeks or so and I get a call, I think her name was Kathy. She said "I understand you had a problem with your repair?". I explained. She said "We will send you a $50 gift card". I dont want a gift card. I explained further the issue with the necklace and not calling me to inform me of the cost. She says " Would you prefer a REFUND of the $88?". I said yes and gave her my address. Today, we received a GIFT CARD in the mail for Roger's Jewlery. that is NOT a refund. I am extremely unhappy with this company Liberty Jewlers who is apparently owned by Roger's. Buyer beware! read more

Rogers Jeweler's has been around to see me through promise rings, family jewelry inheritances (and appraisals), wedding rings and all the way to my daughter's first set of diamond earrings. Over the past year and a half I've had the opportunity to add in a new dynamic, as my job requires that I work with them on an ongoing custom engraving project. Quite simply put - throughout ALL of those transactions and over 25 years of patronage, I've NEVER been disappointed with the quality or customer service I've received at Roger's. Beth, Lori and John are a pleasure to work with - and never bat an eye when I shoot them an email asking for a "rush" job. These are simply good people, doing good work and our community is made better for that addition. I'm honestly disappointed that YELP highlighted the one negative reviewer (from a person who has gone the sum total of ONE time to this place of business over 3 years ago) instead of the other 2 more recent and reasonable reviews. What a HUGE disappointment --- for two reasons: Rogers Jewelers was buying a clock from a gentleman. The man stated he did not take checks, that he was a small business here in town and that he made that very clear when he set up the agreement for the clock purchase. He stated that he works very hard for the Big Rapids community but he just doesn't deal with checks. The man from Rogers said to him, "Well, if you don't deal with checks , you don't even have a real business anyway." --- Way to support the small businesses of our own town! Second reason -- I was there (which is why I witnessed the whole clock transaction) because I needed a ring size-reducer for my engagement ring -- just temporarily until I save the money to have it sized properly. The lady that helped me, Beth, took my ring, put it in the gem microscope (because apparently they need to know the clarity of a stone in order to properly install a ring reducer) and then said to me, "CZ?" Let me start by saying that I already knew that the stone in my ring wasn't a "mined out of the ground diamond" but it's not CZ either. It's a diamond that was created in a lab, because simply put --- we cannot afford the price of the "real thing". With that being said, had I not been aware of this, Beth did something she had no right to do. If a woman walks in with an engagement ring on her hand, why on earth would you tell her it isn't real? To try to make a sale? How heartless do you have to be to potentially crush someone's dreams? If that is all her fiance could afford, then he did what he could and she didn't need to know any differently. Who gave Beth the job of informing women of the real/fakeness of their engagement rings? Getting engaged is one of the biggest events in a women's life and Beth is taking it upon herself to destroy this happy time for who knows how many people. As far as I'm concerned, Rogers doesn't deserve the business of the Big Rapids residents, or anyone else. That is not something we are proud to call ours. read more
