Stopped in for a steak sub on Friday 4/24 at around 11:30. First time here. The steak subs were awful. The meat and the cheese were tasteless and rolls and meat were over cooked and with one sub there were burnt. Google the best sub shop in Dover and they are not on any list. If you are going to charge the customer $30 for two subs you should be on the top of your game. Never again. read more

My son and I drove to Dover, NH from Cleveland, OH for a few events in and around the area. We were hard pressed to find decent, or even GOOD pizza. We tried 4 different places in 2 days between Holden, MA and Dover. 2 came HIGHLY recommended. We were a little apprehensive to try our 5th pizza, let alone order more than a slice, but we're SO GLAD we took a shot at Roger's! We got a large with pepperoni and mushrooms. WOW! EXCELLENT sauce! The service was great, the food was good, but we felt the prices were a bit high. An extra $4.50 for pulled pork on a 10" pizza. My husband said it was really good, but he wouldn't pay $15+ for a 10" pizza again. The potato skins that we shared were the best that we've ever had! The dining room was small, but comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our taco and Buffalo chicken salads from here last week! They both came in delicious tortilla bowls! All ingredients were plentiful and delicious, and they came with delicious house made dressings. We hosted a coed baby shower in the function room, it was fantastic. I couldn't believe how much food there was. From salads, pizzas, and pasta, a wonderful variety. They also made a special gf pizza for my niece with celiac. Guests were raving about it. The servers were accommodating, and kept up with the crowd. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is the room is a little tired. However, after we added decorations and people it was not noticed. Don't hesitate to book your function at Roger's Pizza. We went to eat at Rogers 10/11/2020 and asked our waitress if we needed to call to save some time on Wednesday 20/24/2020 for my father in laws after the funeral get together.. she told us that she would do it and then proceeded to let us know we all set . We get there after the service and was met by a pissed of waitress that knew nothing about us coming!! So rude and I've been promoting Rogers so much because we have been doing a lot of take out from here and have dined outside numerous times!! Back in the 1980s, Corona Pizza was my go-to pizza place restaurant in Gonic. Their House Special was a chicken finger and broccoli calzone. It was my introduction to "calzone," since most people had never had a calzone before the 1980s. Corona Pizza has been gone for decades, but still the only calzone I ever order is a chicken finger and broccoli calzone, no matter where I go. About 20 years ago, when I worked in Dover (from 1999-2002), I once ordered a calzone from Roger's. It was the same calzone that I always order anywhere I go - chicken finger and broccoli. To my horror, when I got my calzone, it did not contain chicken fingers, but grilled chicken, and broccoli. It was disgusting. I never ordered from Roger's again. Fast forward to 2021... When I can, I make an effort to visit places that I have not reviewed before. I have completely given up on contactless food purchasing, as you can see from my reviews detailing the abysmal performances of the few restaurants I have visited in the past year. Still, I order take out food about once per month since I cook at home from scratch for the other 29 days of the month. Tonight, it was time to give Roger's another try. Instead of ordering online or by phone, I went to the restaurant in person. I was pleased to see that the staff wore masks and that social distancing was encouraged. A friendly woman took my order. Remembering my last experience at Roger's, some 20 years ago, I made sure I explained the type chicken that should be in my calzone. Fingers, breaded deep-fried fingers. Not Buffalo tenders or BBQ tenders, just regular chicken fingers, my order taker happily confirmed. Did I want sauce and cheese in my calzone.... you know, like a calzone...? Yes, I did. This is essentially a chicken Parm calzone with broccoli. We seemed to understand each other. I paid and headed to Shaw's to pick up a couple things during my 20 minute wait. When I arrived back at Roger's to pick up my calzone, it was ready. Another female Roger's worker handed me my calzone. The number on the box matched the number on my receipt. I thanked her and drove home ready to enjoy my tasty treat. Imagine my surprise when I opened my calzone and discovered I did not have a chicken finger and broccoli calzone, but pretty much the complete opposite: A sauceless, sausage, spinach, and garlic calzone. *sigh* I ate it anyway, but I was very disappointed. 2 stars because I was hungry and ate the calzone.... I have been to Roger's dozens of times. I think maybe twice I've gone to the restaurant itself, but I get delivery from them frequently. Just now I got delivery. I ordered via the Toast application. It took 15 minutes for me to get my order delivered, which is great but for an extra reason: I ordered soup. Roger's makes a FANTASTIC crock of onion soup. Best in the area. When it's delivered it's hot and the cheese is melty and so comforting. They also carry pizza (good, but not the best in the area), potatoes (they know how to do these), salads (I think taco salad and my brain goes to Roger's), desserts, sandwiches, pastas...and then the dinners. Their chicken pot pie is not really pie - it's the contents of a pie in a bread bowl - but satisfies the comfort food need. It's not perfect, but it's close. I gotta say I wasn't terribly in love with their shepherd's pie, it was sort of bland. I have had their corn chowder...again, bland. I was very surprised by that. And who doesn't like fried dough? The fair favorite is something that they offer, but for some reason it's just not up to fair quality. But they are so nice, if something isn't in stock then they tell you ahead of time, and...well, there's a reason it's been in business in Dover for so long. People in Dover love Roger's. read more

We had a meatball pizza that was delicious. The crust was crispy, the sauce was very good, and meatballs were excellent. The food and the service were great. We will definitely go back to Rogers. This was our first experience at Roger's. It was average as we have experienced many sit down establishments in the Dover area. The staff was friendly and engaging which is always a positive. We were immediately greeted and given menus. We ordered 2 small pizzas (mushroom and pepperoni which was good and overflowing with ingredients) a BLT-C and a "pick two." The pizzas had a great dough taste and was the best of the meal. The BLT-C was average. The bread was good however the Turkey was lacking flavor. My biggest concern and possibly a point to not go back was their Pick Two. We chose the Fries and Onion Ring the portion size wasn't comparable to the price. The Onion Rings were homemade and delicious and the fries were good. However, as mentioned before packed substance issues. We received maybe 10 rings and a handful of fries. Would we go back? Probably. Pizza was good and the menu had plenty of options. read more

This was the best overall delivery experience I've ever had. Called at 9pm and the phone was picked up by a person that was excited we called and to give us food. Rogers. What to say. I want the food to be so good yet it never really is. I love cheese as much as anyone but they drown everything in it! Too much. It hurts to even say that. The bloomin' onion was great though! I felt like I needed to be carried out on a stretcher with my pants unbuttoned to get out of there and unfortunately I don't want to eat that way anymore. Best place Ever! Great food, great service, cozy atmosphere! The reason I'm writing this is our visit there last night- they burned the pizza! So why five stars? The way they handled it! First of all, the wonderful waitress immediately told us the crust was scorched and offered to make a new one. It looked pretty ok to our hungry eyes so we said "that's ok". She came back a couple more times to make sure we were ok with the pizza and apologized each time. The kind manager also came by a couple times to apologize and offer a new pie. Embarrassingly, one of our party started making complaining noises about the pizza as we finished.... even though we had by now eaten all but one slice of the enormous pie! Sorry about that, ladies! There is not one thing they did wrong. If a slightly overdone pizza is the worst thing I have to deal with, life is good. Even burnt, this was a very good pizza. They ended up not charging us for it because it was sub par for them. Anyone can look good when things go right. It's how you handle it when things go awry that tell the measure of a person or business. Rogers pizza is awesome. They do it right! read more

The main reason I like Roger's may be the reason somebody else doesn't. I like greasy pizza. This pizza is full of greasy pizza taste. Yum. The toppings and cheese are pretty generous, especially on the "House Pizza" and it's a thin to medium, not too crispy crust... a little reminiscent of Costco pizza in flavor. Horrible experience. Perhaps a result of Covid-19 Virus. My wife and I have been Life Long customers that is now changed forever. Two 10" pizza's ($44.93 OMG) ordered today as Takeout along with Lemon Cake. One Pizza was as ordered, but the other was not. A regular veggie pizza was ordered without sliced tomato but to include hamburger. It was specified that I did not want Veggie Supreme, but that is what I got. Upon getting this home, I picked off all of the veggies that are not on a regular veggie pizza. Unfortunately, the flavor of the pizza was destroyed and had to be thrown away. As for the cake, two slices were ordered without ice cream and whipped cream. Again, the cakes had both on them which made them wet and soggy. Sad read more

We went to Roger's last night and I waited about 10 minutes longer than they had told us for a small taco pizza and an appetizer plate. The total was over $26, and I was disappointed when I saw the size of the pizza... The food was definitely not nearly enough to have paid over $25 for, and once we tried it, we were even more disappointed. The pizza was just okay- nothing to write home about, for sure- with halfway stale chips on top. Everything on the app plate looked like it came directly from the freezer section at my local grocer and some of it wasn't even cooked to our liking- the mozzarella sticks, for instance, were not melty and gooey like they should have been. We sadly ended up tossing most of the food in the trash- our five year old didn't even want the chicken fingers, which is almost unheard of. I have no idea how Roger's has been in business for so long as there are plenty of better pizza places locally. My husband's comment was that he wished I had just left and gotten a $5 hot and ready from Little Caesars instead. The one thing they do have going for them is the employees- they were all very friendly and seemed super attentive to the dine in guests. If they even had decent food this place would be a winner. read more
