Had first service done for $600 and their mechanic didn't torque the oil drain plug. On our next ride the plug came loose and all the oil drained out of the motor! Had to drive back to the truck on a dry motor making crazy noises! They picked up the machine said so sorry and that my next two services about be FREE! Months later i call to schedule the next service and was told by the manager, no we have no record of this and would not honor what the service manager told me!! How's that for taking care of their customers after the purchase and after their own screw up! This would be bad enough but they got us again... Next, bought a Suzuki 50 ATV for our grandson and we asked if Birds of Prey would match the sale price on the same machine at another dealer. They said sure and then after we got home and reviewed the final numbers and called the other dealer to compare their out-the-door price we discovered that Birds of Prey had added an additional $500 misc. charge to the bill and we ended up paying $500 MORE than the other dealers out the door price!! We use the fuel for all our small equipment - no issues. Sand in the gas is not covered under warranty, but Firman agreed to split the cost by covering new parts and we cover labor. We could live with that. After no call back from Ed for over 3 weeks we finally picked it up to have the exact same issues! Firman agreed to replace our generator due of the horrible service we endured with Ed.

My issue is this, I went to do a simple tune up, plugs and wires, ive done alot in the automotive industry, no big deal, the plug wire separated, also happens, there are 2 plug wires on my buggy, they do not sell them as a set, each from polaris, is ridiculous in price, and on back order, no after market options I've been able to find, edge, where I paid a stupid amount of money to, said they'd order the parts, it's take care of yer customers first, get them back up and running. And I love that's he a young entrepreneur, and he's doing a practical job to fix things with his hands to help support himself/ his family and help reduce waste in our disposable mindset culture. And when you talk to him, it becomes clear that he has a generally good attitude and is customer-service oriented. I also greatly appreciated that he was patient with the extra time it took me to take the info he gave me and research more, and ask more questions, etc., to make sure I felt comfortable with the work that would be done, and the end price of $120ish was pretty reasonable, in my opinion, to repair a 10-year old Briggs and Stratton mower engine that had started leaking oil profusely when running and hot. I and my children have now used it a few times to mow the yard and it's working great! it seems a little harder for me to pull the starter cord than it did before, but it could just be me, because the children didn't say anything about anything being challenging in any way. They zipped right through mowing like they usually do. He gave me a heads up that he was in the middle of working on a side by side or something when I dropped it off just before July 4, so it took him a few days to give me an initial estimate. Then it took days before I got back to him with the holiday and visiting my mom elsewhere and everything. once I felt comfortable and paid Sam for the invoice, which he sent electronically through email, it was only a few more days before he told me it was done. A few other places I called were booked out at least a couple weeks before I could even drop it off, and it got checked out and repaired while I was elsewhere, so I wasn't home to mow anyway. And other places' hourly shop rates were definitely more! The whole experience was MUCH better than throwing away an inexpensive and repairable mower and then buying a new mower for 3 or 4 times the price of what I paid for repairs or for that mower when it was new, especially when a new main gasket and new spark plug and sharpened blade breathed new life into my current (basic but reliable) Weed Eater brand mower (yes they made a mower back in the day lol!!!). I had just barely changed the air filter so that wasn't needed. Sam answered all my concerns and gave me time to research others' use or not of RTV on the gasket, explained how his invoicing and payment processes worked in advance, etc. and I got it back cleaner than it's looked in years lol. Overall positive experience and I'll definitely take that or another mower to him in the future for repair or maintenance!
