This hotel is really putting in the work to provide a great customer experience! Renovations are underway inside and outside the hotel. The staff has been very kind and accommodating, and mno complaints on my room. I had one maintenances issue and it was addressed immediately. Absolutely unacceptable, just look at the pictures. Bugs in bed, fire hazards, safety hazards, I mean come on man. (Pictures taken from 2 seperate rooms we had booked out of 4, half of the people staying here with us ended up sleeping in their vehicles). Pool closed. Most vending machines & ice machines are out of order. No breakfast. Only room left when I booked through my company was a smoking room, which unsuprisingly, stank. Cracked bathroom mirror and electrical wall plate with non-working nightlight. Both lampshades were cracked and warped, scratches all over desk and bedside lamp. Many splats of spackle on walls, but yet still stains. Couch in room, and desk chair, both had greasy stains, arms of couch were darkened and sticky. Curtains were hanging off rod, hooks were missing. Window overlooked a dumpster with a bonus shopping cart of trash parked next to it. Cigarette burn in blanket of bed, and on countertop next to commode. There is a big wet patch in the hallway carpet just past the check-in desk that has dark stains suspicious of long-standing leakage. Only saving grace was staff at desk, who checked me in with a smile, and in morning refunded me for the rest of the nights I'd booked. Also, no elevator. I needed the exercise, but getting bags to 2nd floor it would've been nice. read more

Run. Let me tell you a little story. This place was so rough that my company moved us out first thing the next day. Big corporations don't just move people, especially when it comes to hotels, they try to save money. The AC didn't work, TV didn't have correct channels, and they had a stand up $25 fan in the hallway just blowing hot, nasty air around. Place was bad, y'all. Please stay anywhere but here. I'd have rather slept in my car with no AC and just the fresh air, windows rolled down, possibility of getting robbed, than this place. I'm not sure how they can even sell rooms to people? Price maybe? No idea but yuck, never again. 1 night was 1 night too long. read more

The room was exactly what I paid for. There were no bugs in my bed, no bloodstained on the walls, no dru addicts in the parking lot nor prostitution in the hallways. Pretty great deal for the price! The parking lot was very well lit and all the electronics in my room worked. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Terrible service. Toilet is clogged and the "hotel" doesn't have a plunger. No lock on our door and the peephole is straight through. Rooms dirty look like they haven't been cleaned in weeks. Dirty walls and bathroom very disgusting. No lightbulb in the lamp. Just an overall Sh** show. Terrible place do not stay here. read more

The rooms were terrible! Nothing like how the images provided! There are dirty towels, walls and floors. The outlets in the bathroom do not work! There's a crack in the room window and a large gash in the table, and the room doesn't get lit up by the small and dim lamp on the nightstand. The neighbors were smoking pot and they were loud. Room service didn't come to fix the beds or collect the towels (we had told one of the employees, they were surprised.) There were only two revoltingly lumpy pillows, that were dirty, on each bed. (Room 207, just checked out) If we weren't intending to check out after two days, we'd reevaluate staying there. read more

This is the budget motel in Stephenville. I had to stay here out of curiosity cause the reviews were so bad I had to see for myself if it was as bad as they said. The room was clean although plenty of silly stuff with mismatched furniture and even plumbing fixtures but everything worked and the bed and pillows were comfortable. If my company was paying for the room I would have stayed somewhere else but I saved 65 bucks on the room and went out for a fabulous steak. The TV worked great when I returned so I was happy as a sales guy on the road. If I brought my wife. I'd pick something nicer and it wouldn't be hard to find but rooms in Stephenville are expensive, so I'm glad they are here. read more

The door to the room did not lock. Got to the room after being at the college and it just pushed right open. I informed the manager and he stated it was probably a loose screw. The fridge was nasty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned or defrosted. When reveiwing the hotel accommodations it offers complimentary breakfast and nothing was put out except coffee. Don't go here! You pay for what you get - maybe even less. Advertised an exercise room - none. No water in hot tub and pool. Drink vending machine out of order. Nothing in snack vending machine. Breakfast minimal at the very least. Almost nothing. Couldn't use outside door - battery dead. Looked like they shipped at Goodwill. Paper signage stapled on walls. Bed was ok but the pillows were very small and lumpy. AC was good. Very few cars in lot - this should have been a hint. The owners need to take some pride in their hotel and do a little more (update, breakfast). Won't go back. read more

This is definitely one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in on this Continent. Actually, I have stayed in many hotels in third world countries that are better than this. Where do I start? When you first arrive, you walk in a hot stuffy lobby adorned with water stained ceiling tiles and no lights. Apparently the management of the hotel likes to save electricity by not running the A/C or turning on the lights. This dark, dingy welcome is on foreshadowing of what awaits you. If you walk around the building, you will see where the roof has been peeled back by some force of nature, maybe years ago, exposing the rafters. On the second floor of the hotel, the water damage from the damaged ceiling is impossible to miss. The ceiling is falling and covered in mold. If you stay here and plan to swim, make sure you bring your HAZMAT suit. The swimming pool would only work on St. Patrick's day as it resembles a bioluminescent green hue that can only be obtained by hosting a thriving museum of aqueous pathology. As you enter your room, you are greeted with a musty smell that reminds you that the risks of mesothelioma and pneumonia are very real. The bathroom is moldy, the beds are horribly uncomfortable and if you are lucky enough enough to ask first, they may even provide you a chair so that you can sit at the wobbly desk smartly placed near no available power outlets. The wifi in this hotel is only slightly faster than the gestational period of the 17 year Locust. If you want to send an email, I recommend using the Popeil Method - "Just set it and forget it". Needless to say, the next time I am up here, I am going to stay in Glen Rose or at the Hampton. This place is a dump! read more

There are so many other hotels to stay at, do NOT stay here. Im sure you've heard the phrase, "you get what you pay for"... Well this shit hole isn't even worth half of what you pay for. Where do I start?! First the pool and hot tub is drained, mostly. The concrete on on the bottom and sides have been sledged into pieces. By the pictures on the other yelp reviews they haven't been cleaned and filled in over 2 years. Random junk and trash sit inside the pool area bringing the appearance way down. But that's not the reason for my review... A family member passed away last week, which brought my self, my 2 young daughters, my sister along with her children, and my mom into town for funeral services. After making a 6 hour drive in from Corpus Christi, I pulled up into this Luxurious Grand Palace. (*in a bouji sarcastic voice*) Our loved one who passed away family had reserved and paid for the night prior to me coming for my mom and sister. Due to the financial situation they were in they were thinking about making the 6 hour drive back home after the services, I offered to pay the 2nd night for them so they could rest for a safe drive home the next Morning. I wasn't sure about staying there my self though because of how dirty and run down the place looked, (even offered somewhere else a lot nicer to mom and sis but they were already unpacked) but after a long day with family and grieving I decide to just stay, just needed a bed for my babies and I to rest in before our long drive back home. It's 9:50pm when we pull in. My daughters go with their 2 older cousins to start walking toward the office while I grab a a couple bags out of the trunk of the car, as they're walking my daughter is singing a song from the church service earlier. When I walk up to them they mention that their was a lady at the counter wording to be quiet and placing her finger over her mouth, I tell my 8 year old, "yes it's almost 10 pm honey, people are going to bed." When we make it inside the lady immediately tells us that we need to go to our room, that we are being really loud and that there are people sleeping, I agreed and tried to tell her I agreed but she told me to shut my mouth and to stop talking. I was in shock. I replied with and excuse me but you can't talk to people like that she then informed me that it was her hotel and that she could and would talk to me however she wanted. And then said that by the looks of me I couldn't even afford the room that I was in (This is coming from a lady wearing a wrinkly Nirvana) tee shirt and her I brushed hair put up on a raggedy pony tail). I just asked are you serious?? I was in shock who says that to a customer? (No matter how a person looks) you should never say that to a customer (and believe me I was exceptional well dressed... lol) She is demanding for me to go to my room or leave her property, I told her, "ma'am I haven't even checked in yet, I've only paid for my families room". As she proceeds to Check me in she is going off, by then her poor husband walks to the front and tells her to leave. Needless to say I said never mind I'm good I'm not staying here, and went to the Holiday Inn across the way. I potty her poor husband to be stuck with her. She is going to run their motel in the ground with her shitty customer service and etiquettes before the mold and bed bugs take over. Also I forgot to mention the whole office reeked of pot, this really is the filthiest place ever to stay at. In a way I guess she did me a favor for running me off, My sister and mom were complains about how hard and uncomfortable he beds were, and how their backs were aching... There are so many other decent places in Stephenville do not go here, look around spend an extra 20 dollars it will be well worth it. I promise! read more

Wow this this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at in a long time! I'm barely out of college so I'm used to staying at cheaper places but there are some ridiculously bad things here that could easily be fixed if the management here cared. My "white" sheets have some black stains on them. Looks like someone drove over them. The shower rod is barely hanging on to the walls so this causes water to spray all over the bathroom floor. There is mold growing in the shower. The alarm clock is broken. The room doesn't stay colder than maybe 76-degrees. I'm afraid that my truck will be gone when I wake up tomorrow. I understand that this place is cheap (which is great) but seriously things could be a little better. read more

I stayed here a few years ago when it was called Quality Inn, it was the first choice hotel I ever stayed at and it was awful. Second floor, the first two rooms they ended up giving us didn't even lock, when the third room locked we figured out that any key to any room would work for any room, and my most memorable part about being there (I was in 5th or 6th grade I am now a senior in High school) was waking up at 2 am because of a possum in my bed. I saw the other review say the shower curtain bar was broken, WE DIDNT EVEN HAVE A BAR FOR A SHOWER CURTAIN! It was my first hotel and the WORST hotel. (Editing this review years later I cannot believe I forgot to mention all of the bugs everywhere. It was a scary place. I can see why it went from Quality to Econolodge but they really need to just close this place down. It was awful.) read more

If I could give less than one star I would. The staff was all nice and the a/c was fantastic, but that's where it stopped. The room smelled of a century old musty basement. All bedspreads had cigarette burns in them. The one bed my wife and I felt safe enough to sleep on had two hairs between the top and bottom sheets. I'm fairly certain our bed was tipping one direction as well. The bathroom had mold all around the top of the shower, and there was a half used bar of soap on top of the shower surround. All towels had stains on them. The pool had 6 inches of green moldy water in the bottom of it. There were old mattresses laying in the parking lot. I didn't expect the Taj Mahal when we booked the room, but I would have at least expected a clean room that smelled decent. After all, the sign out front advertised all new rooms and the pictures online looked great. Oh, and there was a dead grasshopper in the room too. read more
