I was concerned that, given the early hour and holiday weekend, a ride share wouldn't be as reliable as a licensed cab. The 6 AM cab was booked, I received a confirmation number, and I went to bed. The next morning, however, things took a turn. At 6 AM, with no cab in sight, I called the support number. The automated voice read my address (somewhat incorrectly) and then hung up after asking if I wanted to talk to an operator. I called backed, only to have the same thing happen. Then window from "press 0 to speak with a human" to hanging up was about 1.3 seconds. On round three, I got through to a young man who sounded a little harried. I asked about an eta for my cab and he said he didn't know. A driver would "pick up the ride" in any minute, since they were all just starting their day. I asked what he meant by "just starting their day," since I had booked and confirmed a pickup for 6AM. If the drivers only started at 6 and needed to be dispatched first, why was that even an option? I would have pressed further, but at this point the operator decided to hang up. It's now 6:10, and my flight is still leaving at the same time, so I'm getting a little worried. Then I get a new text. My driver has accepted my order and will be there...in 13-15 more minutes. I called the operator again to ask what was happening, but the automated voice seemed to be on the fritz as well (based on the other employees, she was probably just starting her shift). I opted to cancel the service and go with someone a bit more reliable.
