I spent an evening at this Rodeway Inn as part of a layover at Seattle. The stay was ample and did the job, but there is room for improvement. There is a shuttle service available to/from the airport to the motel. The shuttle can be initiated by calling the front desk. However, the shuttle hours are limited so it is a good idea to look at your flight arrival/departure times, and seek alternative airport transportation during the off hours. The Rodeway Inn is within walking distance to restaurants--dining options are available at nearby hotels, as well as a Denny's and 7-Eleven close by. Check-in was quick and the staff are friendly. There is a $100 deposit that was refunded within 48 hours of checking out. The property itself appears tired and jaded. There are no elevators at this property and the upper floors can only be accessible by stair. The room itself was quite jaded, with furnishings in real need of replacement. The carpets needed a good shampooing and a deep-cleaning would be a game-changer. There is a mini-fridge and microwave oven in the room. Additionally, there is a plasma TV in the room as well as reliable WiFi. The HVAC is functional but could use a filter change. Overall, my stay was to spend the night and catch an early flight, and this Rodeway Inn has helped me achieve that goal. read more

No room service, the WiFi never worked, the water barely gets hot, no microwave, front desk staff speak very little English, they add a $100 damage deposit (the whole hotel isn't even worth $100....) It smells bad. This hotel needs to be condemned. Also, I was told there was a "complimentary" cruise shuttle and when I went to book it they wanted to charge me $52. They could start by cleaning the rooms, vacuuming the entire Motel, fixing things that get broken, kill the coach roaches, get a seal on the toilet to indicate the bathroom has been cleaned, stop advertising free breakfast when there is non. Get a water stopper so you can have a bath but before having a bath please clean the tub. When there are broken or chipped items in the room it would look a lot better if you made the effort to fix them. You know the "five second rule if good drops?" Great price and friendly service, however there are children who live here and they crowd the parking lot and have no respect for cars passing by. They don't move out the way, they run in front of moving cars. They flip you the finger and make gun gestures as you drive past. Makes it hard to talk to the parents if that's how the children act they could be dangerous. They also pull out dressers from behind the trash can and climb on them. This is the hotel the police check you into when you're having mental health crisis and they can't arrest you. When the police remove you from the propery, the hotel staff steals your stuff. To be clear, it was my friend having problems not me. The stench of that room still haunts me. read more

Absolutely disgusting. The walls were stained with god knows what. The room stunk like puke. The mattress was past its end of life and on a metal frame. Terrible nights sleep. A bright flood light pointed at the front of the building kept the room lit. The furniture all looked like it was picked up off the street. The AC did not keep the room cool. I was flying out the next morning early and decided to find a place I could sleep at , walking distance from the airport. This was non-refundable but was so gross to me I almost bailed anyway. Hair on the bathroom floor, what looked to be mildew on the top of the shower enclosure and a hand towel that was clearly left from the prior guests. I unwrapped the bar of soap and it felt wet. It appeared to be stuck back in a package to pass off as new soap. It was so gross. Never again!!!! I'd give zero stars if possible! read more

I didn't find any bed bugs. I also didn't find signs that housekeeping knew how to clean crumbs off of the mismatched bedside table or toothpaste off of the bathroom mirror. I didn't find signs that maintenance knew how to use painters tape or to remove fixtures before paining the walls. I didn't find matching furniture or any matching decor, I didn't find toilet paper that had been placed on the roll so that it fed over to top to the front. I didn't find carpeting in the room that matched the carpeting in the hall. Or the curtains. It the comforters. I didn't find a lot of things. But I did find a vacancy at 3 in the morning when I was exhausted and needed a place to sleep; so I guess that's something. read more

Smelled like smoke, it was seedy and dirty, lacked any niceties, shuttle service only operated 7 am- 7 pm, so was no help for our 7 am flight to Washington, DC. Rugs were dirty, sheets had holes in them, very small rooms, no chair to sit in (no room for a chair), tiny towels. I could go on, but you get the idea. Oh, on our return to Sea-TAC we had to get back to Roadkill to pick up our car. We called (twice) to asked them to send the shuttle to pick us up. After waiting 25 minutes, we gave up and took a cab (rip off $21). Positives: Very close (1 mile) to the airport. read more

Let me preface my review by saying that I am traveling to a different state every month. That said, the important criteria for me are: cleanliness, an approachable staff, and a quiet room. Based on my 4 day experience at this Seattle location, I give them 5 stars. Staff were so nice, helpfull, and professional. My room was clean & so comfortable. I require something substantial covering me and my bed came with a quilted, reversible bed cover. I was so happy about this as well for the comfortable mattress. Also in the room was a desk, comfy office chair, new & very effecient a/c and large openable window to hear the finches and see Pacific Northwest trees. The bath was spotless with a nice shower. To add a cherry or two over top, was free morn ing coffee, free airport shuttle, a 7/11 & Denny's in walking distance and the light rail that takes you right to the downtown area. Wow, what a dump. From the moment I walked into my room, I was underwhelmed and disappointed. First off, was the overall stink of the room, smelling of mildew and other unidentifiable aromas. I immediately opened the window in an attempt to air the place out. I was a bit surprised to see there was no bug screen, since Seattle has its share of mosquitoes. Nevertheless, I was willing to suffer some bites in order to breathe something other than the fetid air in that room. The room has a number of impromptu patches on the wall (see picture), making one wonder what sort of activities are normally engaged in while people stay here. My TV could not be turned on by the remote, nor could the light between the beds. One of the chairs had multiple cuts in it, but evidently the management still felt it was serviceable to continue using it. Lastly, a word about their shuttle service, such as it is. I arrived at 9:30 in the evening and when I called for the shuttle, I was informed it only runs from 7am to 7pm. Tack on another $17 for an Uber ride. The next morning, I went down ten minutes early to wait for the 9am shuttle. At 10 minutes after, I went inside to inquire about the shuttle and was told the next one would depart at 9:30. When asked about the "every 30 minutes shuttle", they finally agreed to give me a ride. Bottom line: if you can find a freeway underpass to sleep the night, you are probably better off than going to this dive. read more

I felt a little adventurous and booked the cheapest motel close to SeaTac (Seattle-Tacoma) Airport that I could find. Having said that, I knew what I was getting myself into. Rodeway Inn is an old, run-down motel located right by the light rail station. I didn't have a car on my last trip to Seattle, hence proximity to the train station was a factor (5-minute walk from train station to hotel... not bad!). The room had a TV, fridge, and microwave. I thought the bed was okay. But man, they need to buy new pillows! I've always been wary of the sheets, comforters and pillowcases, and whether they get washed at all, and that sentiment holds true up to this day especially for budget hotels. The staff was pretty friendly, though. The guy who checked me in was on top of things. When I got to my room, I noticed that they didn't provide enough towels for me so I called him and he had housekeeping bring me more towels in two minutes! I paid $112 for two nights, which you probably can't find anywhere else in Seattle. But you get what you pay for. If you're on a budget, or if you need a place to crash for the evening to catch an early morning flight, then Rodeway Inn might be a good place for you. I should add that they offer free shuttle rides to the airport, and I think you can arrange for a pickup as well. Will I come back? Probably not. But maybe I will if I'm on a budget. read more

What hotel charges more to NOT SMOKE, this one!!!! 10$ extra for a non smoking room upon check in. All hotels prefer that you don't smoke in the rooms. Here's more of my list....No secondary lock on the door, the tub does not drain, so you are standing in water ankle deep.. the phone does not connect to the front desk so you have to use your own phone. The TV should be in a museum or trash can!!! The room was filthy. The walls were thin, the bed was an old time spring mattress that was stained. My advice is to avoid this place at all cost!!!!! Yes. Front desk person told us we couldn't bring all our luggage in (?)-- We told him we were extremely frequent travelers and were going to bring our luggage in our room if we liked (We need our luggage??). He continued to call our room 3 separate times and pester us about "moving in" and leaving at check-out time at 11AM. My group was staying for business purposes and are frequently traveling adults, but felt as if the front desk person was prejudicial against us due to our young(er) age. He seemed to highly dislike us and highly enjoy letting us know he was watching us on his cameras. So creepy... We took a video of our room to prove we left it clean and free of damage as we've read other reviews and see this Rodeway Inn has a nasty little habit of tacking on unauthorized and unnecessary upcharges. Pretty sketchy hotel - the man behind the desk wasn't very cheery at all and took a $100 deposit that would be returned in 5 days or we could pay cash, weird atmosphere, the beds were rock hard, peeling paint and funky bathroom, and when asked for an extra pillow, we were told there weren't any. They hard charge the security deposit, which seems unnecessary anyway, then they wait over a week to initiate returning it to you. Honestly I hate to give this hotel 1 star. It's old needs renovation. The outside is a complete eye sore. The manager is rude and in my opinion very racists. He and my husband got into a small disagreement and he refused to let us stay the next day. (Which I wasn't upset about leaving because I hated it anyway) it was the principle of the matter. Nononono. We did not feel safe here at all from the moment we stepped out of the car--hell, when we pulled into the parking lot. It's all the way hidden in a corner behind another hotel, the glass door to the lobby was cracked, there is no elevator, but don't worry! There's a ramp to the second floor behind the hotel in the sketchy back parking lot, no accessible entrance to the third floor, and doors to the outside that don't really shut all the way. I know it's super cheap, but there's a reason for that. If you're just looking for a normal hotel to sleep in for ANY amount of time, this is not the place to go. If you want to exchange illegal products and services, this place is perfect. read more

Due to a little mix-up (long story) I arrived in Seattle the night before my reservation at another hotel started. They were booked full up for tonight (actually, they can't even seem to find tomorrow's reservation, but that's another review entirely) and here I was standing outside the baggage claim area with tons of luggage on a rainy Seattle night just before midnight. What to do? Why, hop on my handy dandy Yelp phone app and start calling local hotels to find a place to sleep tonight, that's what!!! The Rodeway Inn was the first place I called and the lady who answered the phone was very reassuring. Yes, they had a room available and quoted a very reasonable price. Next, she ascertained where I was (where cars pick you up) and gave me directions on how to get up and over the sky bridge, down the escalator, and over to where the courtesy shuttle picked me up about 10 minutes later. The nonsmoking room is clean (I did the standard bedbug check and all was clear) but pretty basic other than the large (waist high) fridge and microwave . The fridge is in perfect working order with all it's shelves and a working freezer. Oh yes, I DID mention the microwave, didn't I? I've stayed in worse. The lady who checked me in even asked me if I wanted a wake up call. I forgot to ask what time breakfast was, but I'm totally cool with just sleeping through it. Don't set your expectations too high, it's no resort destination, but if you just need a clean and safe place to crash near the airport with a free shuttle, "That'll do, pig." read more

Pro: The staff is open and friendly. Cons: There are so many basic hotel needs and requirements I'm going to just have to list them: 1. The pest problem others described is real. I even took a picture of my particular eight-legged roommate for the evening. 2. No iron or ironing board in the room despite the hotel's room description listing such. This is a big deal to me as I travel mainly on business usually with a suit and no matter how smooth my flights are I have to iron out my dress shirts in the morning. 3. Basic hotel maintenance not done. Two particular examples (within this list of examples) is the hole in my bathroom door and the fact that my shower wall was bowing out considerably due to water damage. Another example mentioned in other reviews is the shady door locks that look as though one could take a screwdriver and wander about the hotel as they pleased. 4. More specific to my stay, the knob on my shower was labeled in reverse (picture also attached with the knob in the position I showered) where the more cold you turned the knob the hotter your shower got. Bottom line, I don't expect a lot from the bargain bin prices this hotel offers, but there are some basic needs and requirements all travelers need to be met and these guys just don't cut it. As I started off this review, the staff are incredibly nice and friendly, but it wouldn't be fair to the greater audience here if your didn't know what you were getting yourself into. Keeping in mind this is a 1.5 - 2 star hotel, its proximity to the airport and cheap pricing makes this a convenient location. Nothing fancy, but the rooms all have refrigerators and microwaves. Breakfast consists of a pancake machine, 2 loaves of bread, butter and jelly, and 2 choices of cereal. A gallon of milk is usually left out on the counter, so it remains the same room temperature as the coffee. Alternatively, the Clarion next door has a restaurant, and 7-11 is a short walk away. The staff is always quick and pleasant, and an airport shuttle is provided, although a 10 minute walk can get you to the airport security checkpoint. (5 minutes to the light rail/city bus). read more

After seeing some of the pictures online this hotel seemed clean and decent. Boy are those pictures misleading! I have included our own pictures. Please save yourself the horror and spend the extra dollars for a nicer hotel. When we checked in we were informed we were in a Smokers Room! Had no idea those still existed. Had to go buy spray freshener to bear the smoke smell. Our room key died every day, every day we had to have a new one programmed. Its scary folks, avoid this place. read more
