A secret gem of historic Americana roadside motels that were so famous from mid century - this…read moreplace is surprisingly intact and unique and the owners are very cool - Great little hip stop to enjoy - where else can you stay in an A frame that isn't a cabin in the mountains ? This is a unique spot - there's always food down the street at Flying J and their coffee is renowned - Enjoy everyone !

We arrived at The Ranch in the middle of the night (early morning hours?) with two teens, a dog,…read moreand the kind of road-weary optimism that says, "How bad could it be?" Turns out: not terrible, but not great either. The place has a kitschy charm--funky A-frames that look like they gave off "Cozy Cone" from Cars vibes. Sadly, the customer service was less Radiator Springs, more DMV. While my partner and I weighed one room or two, the owner cut in with: "...or sleep in your car. That's your choice." A masterclass in hospitality. The room smelled like a mix of mothballs and memories, and the sheets looked like someone had already had a full night's sleep in them--hair, dirt, the works. We ended up pulling blankets from the car and building a hygiene-safe zone on top of the bed. To her credit, she told us checkout was at 11 but said there was no rush. I appreciated that and the fact that she let us sleep past checkout. Still, between the attitude and the dirty bedding, I can't really recommend this place unless you're nostalgic for motel life and bring your own linens.

Everytime I've stayed I've had a wonderful rest. The bed was so comfortable I didn't wanna wake up.. I slept the best I have in a long time.. I will definitely be coming back! 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

I loved the Itty Bitty Inn so much!!!…read more This is easily the best motel that I have ever stayed at - or even heard of, for that matter. It is, in fact, so much better than the second-best motel that I don't even know what the second-best motel I've been to is! Not only is the Itty Bitty Inn now a must-stay for me on my next trip up the Oregon Coast, but it is so great that it has dramatically increased the likelihood that I will be driving back up the Coast soon. I'm still shocked that the Lonely Planet guide didn't mention it. Rick (the owner) is the coolest. The first thing that he did was give my friend and I a rundown of Coos Bay hotspots. Then he showed us to our beautifully decorated and upholstered rooms - we had the two Tiki-themed rooms, each of which had too much detail to even be done justice by a picture. He proceeded to then pour us complementary beers and directed us to the outdoor patio for lounging and decompression after our trip. I felt like the King of France! I now absolutely need to stay in every one of the rooms for at least a night (there are 5 total, each with a different theme). This is no trivial feat, as apparently new complete redesigns are always in the planning stages. I can't wait to see the place next time I'm in town!!!
