The bed is comfortable, the suite area in the living room was homey and inviting (we didn't need the fireplace due to the warm weather), and the soaking tub was very inviting. We ate 2 dinners and a single breakfast at the restaurant and were impressed by the food each time. Truly a magical setting, and a great place to unwind and recharge.

The refrigerator works so well and is of great capacity to keep all the food and beverages. They now have a wonderful bar soap in the rooms that is locally made. Here's to hoping the Dogwood never changes much! Best place to relax and use as home base for some fun on the north Umpqua.

The Hampton Inn was very clean, roomy, comfortable and quiet. Our room had a large bathroom with a nice large shower, comfortable nights sleep. Everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff was courteous and friendly. There is a very nice exercise room and an indoor pool. The next morning at check out I was told the room was $380. I said that's a lot for a good night sleep and the clerk said " we are renovating and are short on rooms so you have to pay more." Shortly after we arrived, they yelled at our 1.5 and 4.5-year-old kids for touching the sprinkler system. Instead of a polite heads-up, it was immediate hostility. Later, they got snarky with us for being about 10 minutes past checkout--even though no one was waiting for our site, and we were clearly in the process of leaving. It wasn't just a reminder; it was rude and unnecessary. We had to directly ask them not to speak to us so nastily. Between the two families, all of us felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. There are just too many beautiful and friendly places to stay in this region to deal with that kind of treatment. The only reason I'd recommend this place is if you absolutely need a hot shower and can't find one elsewhere. Otherwise, steer clear.
