Positives: Budget motel, near interstate exit, & fast food, for the cost-conscious. Not part of a…read morenational franchise. Few blocks from grocery stores, historic downtown. Rooms & fixtures have been updated, are clean. Quiet, located near a residential neighborhood, & a Catholic church, away from most noisy truck traffic. Pet friendly room is adjacent to safe area to walk pet. Rooms have newer microwave, mini Fridge, satellite TVs. All rooms non-smoking. Lobby is updated. Friendly & helpful desk staff. Breakfast buffet was adequate: hot food in crockpots. Negatives: The exterior appearance, conditon needs work. A derelict former diner building is adjacent which makes this motel look seriously sketchy. Parking lot & walkways show too many gross cigarette butts tossed by careless guests or staff taking smoke breaks. Walkways could use power washing, trash receptacles should be cleaned or replaced. The adjacent residential neighborhood seems to include some heavy cannabis users, so if the smell of drifting marijuana smoke is a turn off, this could be a problem; however much of Oregon deals with this issue, so not unusual. But if traveling with children, that might be problematic. Despite the negatives, I will stay there again when traveling with my dog & to save $$. For this solo female traveler the property felt safe enough. I didn't detect any obvious drug/criminal activity on the property.

Swapped towels, emptied trash, etc. The one thing they didn't do? Make up the bed. Apparently that's not part of housekeeping here. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and this has never happened before. Overall, it's a nice place. Clean, well-maintained, nice staff. They just don't care about your bed, I guess.

Four friends and I stayed at the Guest House for one night last week on an Oregon bicycle tour…read moretrip. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the owners, Gary and Linda, who warmly made us feel welcome. They offered a lot of great local, insider, information about the surrounding terrain, roads, and (few) restaurants. Gary even called the owner of the local bakery (Lion Mountain Bakery) at home that evening to order our sandwiches so that they would be ready for us when we rolled out early the next morning. The Guest House is very well-appointed. We stayed in a 6 person room (3 sets of bunk beds), which was very comfortable. Showers were plentiful and very clean. There is a nice outdoor hot tub for use, although after the long day in the saddle and a late night at the local brewery, we skipped it and opted for more sleep instead. Gary and Linda have really figured out the needs of their guests, which are often road cyclists or mountain bikers. For example, there is a nice large locked room for many bikes, a bike repair stand, chain lube, tools, etc. Also, the homemade breakfast in the morning was really fantastic. Coffee was great (expect that in Oregon), and Linda's homemade granola and smoothies were very good- perfectly suited for our long day on the bikes. I can't recommend this place more highly. Stay here if you're passing through. You won't regret it!

I told them my friends were leaving on Sunday and I was going to stay an extra night on Sunday night and wanted to reserve Sunday night when I called them...I asked if they wanted my payment info and the woman said no and that I could pay when I got there. the lady ended up charging my friend instead! when we asked for a refund for Sunday night, we were refused because we missed cancellation period. When we got there the first night, we parked in a parking lot and had to walk to our camp site...hauling everything was a hassle. there were 3 tent sites and all sites had to share 1 porta potty. the reason I am giving this site 1 star is because they are wayyyyy overpriced, considering you have to park and walk to site, share a porta potty, and get spied on and penny pinched for every fee possible. they ended up charging us $60/night ...original price was $37/night but they charged us extra for 2 extra adults and 1 extra car. total rip-off considering there are nearby campgrounds that have bigger sites, better bathrooms, can drive onto site for $10/night and you wouldn't have someone spying on you while you camp. skip this KOA, go for other campgrounds that won't rip you off.
