The bed sheet cover had what it looked like to b cigarette burnt on it. A pillow had a stain on it. N idk who thought it would b a good idea to put the shower curtain far from the actual tub cuz when I took a shower of course the floor got soaked. They do have a good size fridge n microwave. To say this place is a one star hotel is giving credit where credit is not due. This is a negative one star hotel. The infestation that this place has is atrocious at best. There are holes in the doors, the fixtures, and under the door to the room. Mold on the shower curtains, bed bugs, mattresses from the 80s, stains on the bedding, stains on the mattress, stains on the wall, hair everywhere, greasy floors and head boards. Checked in so late so didn't notice but woke up to roaches crawling on us at 9 in the morning. It was horrendous. Requested a refund and was denied as they want to talk to you and make you more uncomfortable. Someone was already arguing when checking out so no point in trying to request a refund. These rooms are great. Outdoor entrance. The front desk was so friendly and kind. Very helpful. Rooms are clean and modernized. Wifi was great. Sure there is a train about 50 years from the hotel so if that's going to bother you then don't stay here or the comfort inn because you will hear it. But not like it's really that loud. It didn't bother me or my family at all. They don't bother you at all here. No knocking on your door saying "housekeeping!!!" Even after checkout.they wait to see if your going to stay which is awesome. We have stayed at other hotels in this area and always wake up to housekeeping knocking before checkout time if we are going to stay but not here.I love it here. Very private. Respectful. Clean very clean. And very friendly staff. Right in the middle of town. Can walk to anywhere downtown. And for the price you couldn't ask for anything more they even set you breakfast or for early risers. Not eggs and pancakes just some fruit and cereal. Coffee and orange juice. I booked this motel through Hotwire because it had 80% of recommendation rate and surprisingly it's also rated really high on YELP. Arriving late, hungry and it was raining... The parking lot was tight (especially on the carport side). Only had like 2-3 tight spots left. One way in and one way out. Very friendly and efficient front desk. Check in was a breeze and took about 5 mins. I got everything I need to know, key card, WiFi password and breakfast time. My room was above the office on the 2nd floor. It still has that cheap motel look with the faux wood floor and furnitures. But my first impression was it's really bright and clean! PRO: Very clean and bright (lighting is not romantic, it's way too bright :XD) WiFi speed is good and plenty plug on both sides of bed. In room fridge and microwave Free breakfast, continental 6-9am (I didn't bother to get up early for it) Neighborhood seem safe OK: Tv channel is limited and image quality wasn't that great. Bed quality is as expected for a motel. No elevator. Only thing bothered me was: The heater/ac was a bit noisy but it's really common almost all motels has this problem. When I arrived to check in there were immediate problems. My girlfriend had problems checking in with the woman at the desk who started saying she was not allowed on the property and treated us like children. There were people yelling all night outside and pounding on the walls. Used feminine hygiene products were on the painting on the wall by the bed. This was after my girlfriend and i went to dinner at la fiesta and the room was getting cleanedAfter leaving the hotel we were charged for "spilling coffee grinds on the carpet" and the apparent 30 minutes it took to clean it.THE ROOM DOES NOT HAVE CARPET. I would give zero stars if I could. Had an absolutely terrible stay. Room was not clean. Beds were uncomfortable. The man who checked us in, was then later drinking alcohol and smoking in the parking lot of the hotel. I called management to get a refund because I did not feel safe approaching the guy drinking. She refused and said that I should have rang the doorbell, which I did, or called, which I did. She said I didn't and that she wasn't gonna refund me anything, that I should have just left if I felt unsafe, like we have money to book two different hotels. Her name is Tina and she is extremely unprofessional. Do not waste your money on this hotel. You will regret it immensely. read more

If I could give them a zero * I would!!!! first of all let me start off by saying I made a reservation with Travelocity for 7/1 I got to the hotel and was told the check in wasn't until 3pm... everywhere in the world check in is 3 pm said the hotel clerk. Ok I'm here now ... what can I do it's 12am on 7/1 so the young lady said let me check if we have rooms than told me she could cancel for me and I would get a refund within 30 minutes so I paid again directly to the hotel. The next day I received a call from someone at the hotel telling me that I had a reservation and if I wasn't coming to cancel. I told him the clerk last night told me she would cancel he called me a liar and his clerk didn't tell me that and hung up on me. I went online to my reservation with Travelocity and via text messages was told I didn't have a valid reason to warrant a refund. After actually calling the customer service number they called the hotel to get additional information to make a long story short they are refunding my money. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!! CONS: Next to railroad track; outside appearance is outdated; very basic breakfast (a couple of cereals, bread, coffee/tea, waffle maker [broken timer]); and only over the air tv channels even though printout of tv channel line up shows TBS, TNT, DISCOVERY, etc; two tables and four chairs in the reception room for breakfast; could not find shampoo so we had to go buy from Walmart. NOTES: (1) When I called to complain about tv channels, I was told they would reset their system. Don't know whether it was reseted or not but still couldn't watch non over the air channels. (2) Receptionist guy was unprofessional. (3) only one single use coffee bag in the room for two guests. Went down to ask for another one. Even though the receptionist guy gave me one, he mumbled it's only one for one room. (4) If you image google this hotel, there is a photo of a gym. In reality, there is NONE. We were traveling due to caring for our grandma on hospice and dying. We received terrible service, first off when we arrived there were guys that looked drugged out sitting in their car in the parking lot. When we entered the room it was small, and beds were tiny. So that night there was a lot of movement that kept us up most of the night. We left for the day to take care of our grandma and got a call from the hotel stating that we had a pet stay in the room which we didn't. They kept insisting and we said we'd leave and go somewhere else cause we didn't need to deal with this customer service with what we were going through with grandma at the time. They said they would just charge for that night and refund the other days. Now I noticed that they charged full stay. read more

LOUD TRAINS (((0))) I was awaken several times during the night by trains. The tracks are just 50 yards from this Inn. The trains roll slowly past, and blow their horns like crazy. Otherwise it was a pretty good room for the price. Very basic 2-Star hotel. Small room, but very clean and well maintained. As was mentioned in previous posts, the floor is not carpeted, which I really liked. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. There is a small fridge and microwave. Ironing board and iron. Blow dryer. The breakfast is pretty laughable. I ate elsewhere. So, I took one star off for the trains. The second star comes off because of this: when I checked in, the clerk gave me the room key and number. I went to the room only to find someone else's personal belongings inside. So, I went back to the front desk to let them know. I was reassigned to a different room, but it sure didn't make me comfortable knowing that someone could be accidentally let into MY ROOM at any time. A huge problem in my mind. And we've traveled quite a bit so to start with the place looked like converted apartment bldg We were only driving through Hanford and stopped for the night to sleep to begin with the bed cover was stained (yuk) And it must be a place local meth addicts go to party because there was a big group of people in the room next to us that spent the entire night yelling slamming doors and stomping on the stairs and did I mention-they were really loud (very loud ) talking and yelling the walls seemed paper thin they were coming and going every few minutes I don't know which was louder the times when they were outside our room or back into theirs they were even yelling to one another from the parking lot if that's not bad enough you have a train running every hour blaring a horn and to rub it in a little more someone was racing on the street which was loud enough and on top of that setting off all the car alarms needless to say we didn't that sleep we stopped for a bit and sadly enough management didn't seem to be a bit phased by it as if it were the norm for any night don't be deceived by any cheap prices or clever photos that booking .com may advertise BOOKING .COM and any other 3rd party agency that promotes this establishment should be ashamed total fail!!! I made a reservation the day the tickets were available for Kelly Slater's wave park opening and today, four days before the event I'm notified my reservation was cancelled because three were "overbooked". Overbooked?!?! No, they screwed people who made a reservation earlier at their regular rate when they realized they could ask for a monumental rate. My reservation went to some poor soul who probably paid triple the price for a 1 star motel. Anything to be done about it? No, I'd rather drive the 30 minutes to Fresno, pay more, and stay somewhere that the management has integrity. Less chance of bed bugs as well. I have to give this motel zero stars. Didn't even get to stay there because the clerk got upset because we were sitting on the stairs awaiting check in and he came out and yelled at us. We didn't know it was against the rules to sit on the steps. He said it doesn't look good for the customers but we were customers as well until he cancelled the reservation and he made us leave. They allowed children across the hall to sneak in over 12 friends, who then proceeded to blast aggressive rap music with racial slurs. The owner was very cool and understanding when we couldn't get a uber. I went into the office and asked him about calling a cab and after many attempts and no one picking up, he called a uber for us, on his expense, and as he was confirming our ride when then taxi guy called the owner kept our Uber ride and told the taxi to give him a legit number and drop cards off at the office, very clean rooms and quite and the most inexpensive room for the bang for the buck ever had in a booking. Perfect spot! My family and I had never been to Hanford and needed a comfy place to stay as we made our way from Yosemite. Staff - AMAZING, We were warmly greeted, checked with a friendly chat in less than 5 minutes, 2 bottles of water from the fridge and we were off! Rooms - Clean and modern, reminded me of the hotels we have stayed in across Europe. Minimalist and efficient use of space. We were in a room with 2 doubles. Amenities - Fridge, microwave (huge plus) and the things you would expect: hair dryer, lots of hooks for things and tv with great cable. Breakfast - waffle station, coffee, bagels, toaster, fruit and breakfast bars. So clean!! Not a drop out of place, and even the sugar drawers partly opened to see what was available. Location - walkable to the downtown-ish area, like superior dairy. I felt like this hotel was amazing value for money. But really, I can tell that the young owners take pride in their business. I was happier staying here than at the more costly hotel in the area because it felt personal, and real value for money. That makes all the difference! read more

I called at 2:30 pm today Aug 26, 2019 to Book a room for a couple and their 14-year-old daughter who has been displaced and in need of temporary lodging. I manage the benevolence ministry for a church in Lemoore, and identified my church and my capacity to the front desk. Soon as she heard me state that I was calling from a local church, she told me they quit working with churches as this was bringing unsavory people to their hotel. I was a appalled and offended by her statement, and informed her that we would not be doing business with the hotel, ever! I am not sure what her definition of unsavory is, but I guarantee unsavory people exist in all circles. Extremely disappointed in the hotels position, and classification of people associated with churches in the area. We are just a church trying to help people in need in our local area, while patronizing a local business or at least trying to! This is a simple and clean place to stay in Hanford. I have spent 3 nights here recently, and have decided to make this my new place, instead of the Comfort Inn. Downtown has the trains and traffic noise, but if you don't want to pay for the pool and steam table eggs, this is an economical alternative. read more

On November 17th 2013, at 3:51 AM, my friend and I arrived at Downtown Motel, in Hanford, CA because we were tired and needed rest. Once we got into the room it was very cold and so we turned on the heater and went to sleep. The room never really warmed up, so we didn't really get any sleep and we slept until someone was banging on the door and telling us it was check out time. When I got up, I noticed why it was so dam cold in the room. There was a long crack along the side of the door where you could see day light, so that was why we couldn't sleep because it was so cold. I called the office, and told them what I had noticed and I wanted to stay a little long and get some sleep and they told me that I would have to pay another $52.00 because it was check out time. So I got dressed and paid another $52.00 so we could get some sleep before we got back on the road. While I was there I asked if I could get a refund because the room wasn't satisfactory to sleeping in and to stay warm. The woman said you will have to contact the owner and so I did. When I contacted them they refused to refund the money. I also tried to contact my bank to reverse the charge and the bank told me that they refuse to refund the $104.00 for both nights. I know the motel is dive but come on, all I wanted was a room to get some sleep in and stay warm for the night and I didn't get either. Don't go to this Motel it suck and so does the service!!! read more

I second the other review here to NOT trust your reservation here - especially when there's any sort of future event at the Surf Ranch/Kelly Slater wave in town!! I was lucky actually and still got my room but the franchise owner (who really has no boss to be accountable to and it's not like reviews really make a decision on when you have to stay at these places as you're just looking for somewhere cheap and close to a location or to crash when you're driving through town) but perhaps if I add to this here it will show a trend, especially as I heard he threatened others on a TripAdvisor review like he threatened me. I also had reservations for the Kelly Slater Surf Ranch event way before the event when the tickets first went on sale. The DAY OF the event I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic in LA which is the only reason I answered when the phone rang and it was this hotel manager's assistant (as he claimed) that had called me to confirm my reservation or they would release my room (as I'm sure they wanted to charge 3x what I reserved it for). He was very defensive with attitude then and said he also left me a voice mail and an e-mail which he did - however I was en route to Hanford and not available to get those messages at the time he sent them to me. I then told him yes, I'm on my way right now but then he said he didn't have my credit card info and needed me to pull over on the side of the road and give it to him right then. I told him that was impossible and then somehow the phone got disconnected. As soon as I got to a place out of LA where I could get off the road I called the hotel back and was frantic that my hotel had been released and was trying to portray my frustration to this hotel manager, as I read on my reservation they cannot release rooms until at least 7am the day after you are supposed to check in and I had provided my credit card number to make the reservation. Then he claimed that they tried to pre-authorize my credit card and it was declined (which is completely made up as I know that for a fact!!) and so then I went ahead and gave my credit card number to him - but before that he said if you keep using your tone I can cancel this hotel on you right now! I also read a Trip Advisor review about this place too where he threatened another guest. It's unbelievable the way customer service is for some people. I remember the days I was in retail we would get rated on our friendliness with a customer and given an unfriendly if we just made an error and forgot to take the security tag off or didn't use their name - but that was in the old days, now these entitled people nowadays have no idea how to build a true business and have empathy for consumers. He could have said something to the effect that I know you're frustrated, calm down, I apologize for any confusion here, but the room is still available! Anyways, I will never stay at this place again!!!! There are plenty of other hotels around and I'm sure more will pop up as Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch gets further developed!!! read more

Just completed a 2 night stay and we can say without hesitation that we would stay here again. This is the kind of place where upon pulling up you might second guess your reservation - but that's just because it is old looking and a bit Bates Motel looking on the outside. The rooms are all updated and when you combine that with a good rate, very friendly and accommodating management, good if simple free breakfast and ability to walk to places of interest in Hanford - the Rodeway Inn is a solid 4 stars. The rooms are small put neat and clean. No closet- at least in our room - which may be an issue for some business travelers - but not for shorts and Tshirts. read more
