The place is a place but if you're looking for a place to stay with your friendly puppies or big dogs . This is the place to stay because they are dogs friendly and affordable. We stayed there for two nights and we had a good experience with our dogs. One good thing about it is close to shops and good restaurants you can basically go anywhere you like and get around to the nearest restaurant and shopping center. The pool is open! Kids are incredibly excited to swim finally. The pool area is relatively smaller than the photos posted on Expedia, but the kids are having a blast! Just a quick heads up, an appointment is required to take a dip. The room is clean and comfortable. The third floor was renovated according to the host, and the smell of new carpet is in the air. Plenty of parking is offered with a clean entrance. You have Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and a Walmart across the street. Champagne was extraordinarily courteous and welcoming. You can not go wrong with this gem! UPDATE We made our way over to ALDI for snacks and drinks. McDonald's for dinner, you can never go wrong with a McDouble! After settling in, it was time for a shower. I took my drink and headed over to the shower. Nothing but HOT water was pouring from the fountain of the Sequoia! It literally took me 10 minutes to figure out that the COLD water was not an option! I felt like that poor girl in Wes Craven's "The People Under the Stairs." It was burning HOT! As my kids were in a deep sleep, I headed over to the phone in my white towel. The front desk personnel was unbelievably courteous and offered me another room immediately. When I walked downstairs, I was greeted with a smile and handed a new key card with the hotel's "VIP" Suite! It's late, and Ezra has to hit the softball field at 7 AM. Pictures to come! read more

Spent the night of January 12th based on a rating of a 3 star hotel. Maybe a one star would be appropriate. Breakfast was included which was Luke warm at best. No flavor with the eggs, sausage and potatoes. Maybe because they weren't hot. Noisy hotel with employees in the hallway at 6:00 AM which didn't help. Will never stay here again read more

We stayed at the Sequoia Inn November 5-10, 2023 in an executive suite. The room was comfortable and no issues, although glad I read about the hot and cold water being reversed in the shower! We had breakfast every day here and it was fine. I've had better but no complaints. Hot food when we were there at 6:00 and also 7:30. The staff were friendly and no complaints regarding them. I did hear the train multiple times a day but it wasn't loud and didn't bother me. I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

Monica at the front desk displayed passive-aggressive and rude behavior. After a two-hour drive to reach the location, her unnecessary rudeness during check-in was disappointing. I would first like to start with the front desk. I spoke with Ameriah from the first and second phone calls to checking in. Just on her alone I would highly recommend this hotel. She was kind, thoughtful, and went above and beyond. It's wonderful to know there are still kind people in this world. This young lady deserves a raise! The hotel is clean, rooms are comfortable and the bed was one of the best if slept on in awhile. They have a nice pool and a hot breakfast. I would highly recommend and will stay here next time I'm in town! *****UPDATE**** I realized when I got home the very next I left my Apple charger in my room on the bed. Only stayed for 1 night which was enough. The hotel is pretty old but the rooms were ok. The beds were soft and ac worked great, the shower has no grip on the tub and my daughter took a bad fall since it was so slippery. There was also a strand of hair on one of my towels. I stayed at the Sequoia Inn April 5 - 7. The room was extremely clean, and will stocked with all essentials. I was on the second floor and the room was very quiet. I have stayed there several times before and this has always been the case. On this occasion I had left some items in the room. Dottie who works at the front desk went straight up to my room, found and secured the items until I could have a friend come and pick them up. She was an angel, and very gracious. This place is centrally located, right across the street from a mall, McDonalds, Starbucks, target and in n out are with in walking distance. Hotel has 3 floors. The hallway on the third floor has a smoke stench. The rooms are semi-clean. There are complimentary toiletries. This is a 2 star hotel; unless you really need to stay, I probably wouldn't be back. read more

We had a suite and a regular room. Both were great! Newely redone and perfect for our needs. We had one light outside begin flashing on our second day and breakfast timing was very inconsistent. However, these were not major issues and the good far outweighed the bad. We had a nice, clean and quiet experience and would definitely stay again. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed. First, it is way overpriced for the quality. Upon entering the hotel, the appeal was dingy and old. The room was dingy and dated and the carpet was dirty. The next morning, upon getting ready for checkout, I glanced over to the spare bed in the room! Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the bed was invaded by ants! Yes! ANTS on the bed!! Please see pictures!! Thankfully, this was not the bed I slept in, but pure luck! When I checked out, I told the front desk clerk and she just said "oh, sorry." I was in a rush and did not have time to ask for a manager then. However I did call back a few times and gave my information because a manager was unreachable. I also sent an email, and still, a week later, have not received a single call or response. In addition to that, I overpaid for a dingy hotel and there was no breakfast in the morning. All that was available were old apples and bland coffee. Terrible. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is unfortunate in the manner this issue was handled and the overall quality of the hotel. I was very disappointed overall. read more

Great place to sleep and close to food and shops. The pool was closed due to covid. That sucked. Our room was comfortable and cozy.

So, we like hotels with good and quiet room AC, comfortable beds/ good linens and low disturbance surroundings. Scored perfectly on that metric. We checked in at about 9:30 pm and out at 6:30 am, not a long stay. Elevator was hinky but fine, soda and ice machine fine. Continental breakfast not so much. Coffee machine says it's not working-staff: "oh it does that, you can still get coffee out of it" me:"ok."Choices of solid food were sparse but got us to the meet. The remodel was definitely done but was selective. Place smells of new paint and carpet install. So new, right? Couple carpet stains in our bedroom area but only if ya look. Our newish tiled shower had grout issues-room 215 and the floor tile looked like someone had regularly worn soil encrusted boots and degraded the surface and grout. Didn't seem dirty but seemed worn already. Maybe an early rehab phase-idk. The bedroom area was kind of a modular built in situation to be contemporary and was fine. But when people have multiple devices a remodel should include new outlets. Hard to find one that wasn't loose. We bring a multiple usb charger so just had to find that one hiding in the room. There was a magnetic charger set up on the alarm clock-and two usbs on the lamp but we needed five so...also fridge was very cold, tv was solid if not limited in choice. For the price it was a value. Pretty clean except the tile issues. Oh and both the sink and shower faucets are backwards so counterclockwise starting with hot as hades to about 1 o'clock for the right cold/hot mix-valves upside down-dyslexic plumber? I think I saw someone else review about that one. Next time we're in Hanford we'll stay here again as long as all things are equal. If I was on business I'd have reviewed the ancillary things because I'd have stayed longer but quick in and out, it was a value for us. Really a 3.5 star but put 3 since it's not a 4. read more

I feel horrible giving this place 1 star but please read my review to understand. My family and myself drove 5 hours to stay here. The Sequoia is a Beautiful looking hotel. The staff who checked us in was so nice and extremely helpful. The room was clean and a very good size for a small family like mine. DOWNFALL, there is a door on the side of the hotel that was being propped open by a rock to let homeless people come in through. It was right next to our room. We closed it multiple times and informed staff. My family and I did not feel safe at all. I would not recommend this place for families. Also with it being non smoking, a room 2 doors away from us had someone smoking inside and it was affecting our allergies and my son's asthma. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place unless these issues get resolved. If those things were not an issue, this would be a wonderful place to stay because it is so beautiful. read more

Myself and my elderly Mom were visiting family for Christmas. We chose Sequoia Inn from reviews and from family recommendations. I had asked for adjoining rooms so I could be close to my Mom, she get's nervous in a hotel room alone. When I checked inn the front desk girl was very rude. I walked up she said hello checking in? Let me see your credit card and ID. She never said a word, gave us to keys and I asked if they were adjoining rooms she said no we don't have any. I had called a day before and spoke with the person in charge and she knew who I was immediately and said we did indeed have rooms together. This ditz put us across from each other right next to the front desk, in fact the office was on the other side of my wall. The electronic keys would not work, I had to have her come over and try and she said the locks were old they take as few moments. We both had a king room. Nothing special except that I did find it to be very clean which was nice. However, the noise was beyond bearable. People slamming doors, talking loud, and at 4:40 AM you could here the staff in the office right on the other side of my wall talking, crushing ice and getting ready for the continental breakfast which by the way was three doors down. The beds are worn, at least mine was , my mother said her mattress was fine. It was the noise that got me, and when I would call the front desk to address it I was told I will see what I can do. I would recommend staying on the third floor since walls and ceiling are very thin, and DO NOT stay in rooms 105,108, 106, avoid the bottom floor next to the front desk at all costs, unless you want to be up all night. I might give it another shot, but this time third floor only. read more

The front desk is very helpful and polite. You are close to shopping outlets and restaurants. The free breakfast is a plus saves you money from going out to eat. Even though I will give you 5 stars I do have a few complaints the bathtub is way too small for the bathroom (hint) jacuzzi tub just saying. He's not hiding in his office, he's out on the property with his staff, sleeves rolled up, pitching in to help as well as making each guest feel welcomed by engaging in a fast yet friendly hello as he goes about helping his staff! **UPDATE** Although the initial experience was just horrible. The manager Danica Rhyne reached out to me via phone/email to apologize for the entire situation. She made sure the charges (which were still on hold for days after) on my account got cleared and she also gave me a reimbursement for one of the nights. I can appreciate when management steps up to try and right the wrong. There is no way to erase what happened but there is definetly something that can be done to make us a little happier about the whole thing. I appreciate her attempt to make me happy and after all her efforts, we will probably give this place another shot next year when we head back to Hanford for the tournament. The elevator made a constant beeping noise when we arrived, so I asked the receptionist if she could turn it off for the night for people to sleep. Front desk people were really nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Look - you have to adjust expectations when you are staying in a 2-3 star place. Walls are thin. If you face the street you'll hear cars. You're in farm country so you will smell manure outside (perhaps it's dependent upon which way the wind is blowing). It served it's purpose for a decent one-night stay. I do think that it's more like an $85/night then $105/night. As someone who likes to eat healthy, breakfast was super unhealthy, cheap food. Kind of gross. They can do better. Tip - towels with stains should be taken out of circulation, doesn't feel good to see that. read more

This was the first and last time we will stay at this hotel (Sequoia Inn). We were told it was a good place (price $$$ & cleanliness) to stay at. Well the 1st room they gave us, we opened the door and was hit with a Horrible smell of animal & urine smell, there was a pizza crest under the table/desk. I immediately requested a different room. I was advised that the whole hotel was dog friendly. I have stayed in pet friendly hotels before but certain floors were designated for pets, here they are NOT. The 2nd room we were given was clean & did not smell of animals, however the room my mother-in-law had the bedding (sheets/pillow case) had make-up smeared on them. In the morning around 10AM we exited our room into a hallway that smelled like dog urine. I do NOT recommend this hotel. I only gave this a hotel a 2 star rating because the 2nd room we were given was "just ok". read more

Stay if you must and don't expect much. The hard boiled eggs had obviously been peeled a day or two prior. Smelled rotten. Stale bagel. No cream cheese. An employee came in once in the 30 min I was there. People were not happy. Juice was mostly water. Asked for a roll away bed because the pull out bed is totally not sleepable. Like a wire cage wrapped in fabric. Ultimately they did take $50 off the bill. I really had to complain a bunch but they did it. If you are in Hanford, this is probably the best place to stay. If you are in Hanford and need a place to sleep, this may serve your needs. It is basic, not luxury. Room was large. A breakfast is included. Wireless weak, so you may have to rely on phone line. If you stay here you might want to bring a plug bar for your electronics. I found enough outlets around the room; but a bar would have made it easier. A device such as an Airport Express might help, but I can't be sure it would make a difference in the signal. Try to get a room that is not on the pool/spa side of the motel. The pool/spa can get noisy. This motel has good freeway access to Highway 198. read more

My coworkers and I stayed here while in town for work. The rooms are decent but there's no laundry facilities or gym even though there's a room that has a sign saying there is...it's being used as storage while they renovate some rooms. The pool closes early and they come out there and kick you out at closing time, giving us maybe 30 minutes to use it by the time we get back from work. The pool furniture is covered in cat hair from the stray cats hanging around. If you're a smoker you have to find a spot to sit on the ground outside, they have plenty of ash trays but no benches anywhere. read more

Only complaint was that front desk wasn't being manned so I called them from their desk phone and it took a long, long time before they returned to their desk phone to pick it up. Rooms were clean staff was pleasant. However the elevator has been broken for a week and the staff doesn't know when it will be fixed. Also hot tub is broken. I asked for extra towels around 5 PM still hadn't received them when I went to bed at 11 pm. No discount was offered even with these issues. I did get a discount promptly after I requested one though. What really got me was that they lock the front doors after 10 for security reasons. You have to be buzzed in. So I was afraid I was going to get mugged or assaulted if I was outside late. I guess it's just not a safe neighborhood. read more
