They definitely have their own twist on things. The sweet potatoes were good but a little heavy on the nutmeg. They tasted like a mix of apple and pumpkin pie. The mac and cheese was really creamy. I really liked the horseradish coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of collard greens but I still tried them and actually thought they were pretty good. For our mains, two of us had the brisket and one had ribs. Both were super good. There were 4 different sauces. I recommend trying them all. I wanted to try the sausage but they were sold out. I guess you need to get there earlier than an hour before they closed. We finished with a couple desserts. The banana pudding was probably the best I've had. Their seasonal cobbler was blueberry and very tasty! I was hoping for peach. Maybe next time. Yes there will definitely be a next time. It was a lot of food so we had plenty left over that ate for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is super friendly and really clean. Like most barbecue places I've been to there is no table service. You order and pay at the counter. Then depending on how busy they are they will bring your food to your table or have you pick up at the counter. For me the cherry on top is their pay it forward meal. For $15 you can buy a meal for someone in need. They hand you a receipt that you pin to a board. Then when someone needs a meal they can go in and grab one off the board. They offer them their lunch special. While I was there I saw a very grateful individual come in and get a meal. The staff were super nice and treated them just like any other customer. Great food! Great service! Great value! Do yourself a favor and try this place!

For dessert we had pecan, raspberry and key lime (Key Lime is my absolute favorite now!!) ‍ it is so smooth and just the perfect amount of every ingredient. We also had French press coffee and now they believe us when we tell them it's the best coffee!! I only got two good pictures of soufflés! We sat on the nice big patio in the corner. When I advised that I had called and she placed me on hold but never came back. I told her that I was on hold long enough to brush my teeth and get dressed. She rolled her eyes. Never apologizing. While waiting on my food, a gentleman came up complaining about his service. She IMMEDIATELY apologized and adjusted his bill, then laughed and talked with him. I've been here before and had a wonderful conversation with the manager and hostess that was on duty. This time, was a bad experience. My order was two Ceaser salads with blackened shrimp. The food took FOREVER!!!! The customer service was DEFINITELY lacking! Whitney if you hate your job or certain folks, maybe do something else because life is WAY too short. Next time I'm here, I'll DoorDash if she's on duty. I will not go where I do NOT feel welcomed.
