As a physician myself, I feel so lucky that we found Dr. Rodbell to be our daughter's pediatrician. He has an exceptional bedside manner, patiently addressing any question or concern new parents may have. He practices evidence-based medicine: he relies on the best information available in making clinical decisions. The members of his office staff are kind and competent. And, perhaps most importantly, his answering service is highly responsive in the event of emergencies which may occur when the office is closed. I cannot recommend him more highly to anyone seeking a terrific pediatrician in the area. read more

We could not be happier with Dr. Rodbell. He is an exceptionally dedicated, warm, kind physician, and the entire rest of his staff - nurses, admin assistant - are wonderful as well, without exception. Here are some of the things I love about him: -He is precise and very tech-savvy. He always brings his laptop into the exam room, and at our first appointment he dictated his notes (which he had taken on the exam table paper) into his iPhone in front of us, encouraging us to "please interrupt me and pipe in if I miss something or misrepresent anything." -It's clear that he and his staff LOVE kids. Their enthusiasm is readily evident and infectious. He taught us his favorite swaddling technique and his favorite baby-calming hold/jiggle, and he was visibly and vocally sad when we left the office: "I hope I don't see you soon [because I don't want your babies to be sick], but I'm sad I won't see them as often." -He is all about empowering you as a parent, rather than spoon-feeding you precise information (which doesn't work, because all infants are different!) He gently encourages you to trust your newly-emerging parental instincts and read your baby's cues, and he has a phenomenal sense of when to push you on this, versus when you need more support and hand-holding. -When our boys had fevers after their first vaccines and we called his call service at night, he called back in less than a minute. He also assured us that "as new parents, you should feel free to have a very low threshold when it comes to calling me tonight. Don't feel bad or silly. It's your right and I expect it." -He is exceptionally flexible when it comes to scheduling. As stated in other reviews, it's easy to get a same-day appointment if you need it. He's also open on Sundays for walk-ins and a handful of well visits. -He is humble and honest. When I told him how happy we were to have found him, he said "well, there is a honeymoon period. If you ever - EVER - feel that your are less than happy with my office, please let me know." -The nurse practitioners in his office are wonderful. Kelly Hightower also does lactation consulting - either in office or at your home - and is SO good at what she does. She had suggestions for breastfeeding twins that I would have never thought of. -As a same-sex couple, my partner and I have always been treated with warmth, kindness, and respect - in other words, we've been treated as they would treat any other couple. It's been a little over a year and it seems every time I go I love this practice more! Everything I said before stands and he remains a rock for our family in raising our spirited young lady. There have been some very positive changes such as the expansion of the office and bringing on full time of Beth which make the practice just that slight bit better. That said it still remains a fantastic and very personal experience you'd expect from a small practice vs one of the larger practices with 6-10 doctors. Finally, Dr Rodbell has remained flexible with our slightly different vaccine schedule as time has gone on. That said, we are still vaccinating pretty much in line with the CDC guidelines so this is by no means a comment to say that if you want to not vaccinate at all he is ok with that as that is not what we are doing. We are just a bit stretched out and he's supportive of that and splitting things up. read more

Have been with this practice for five years. Dr. Rodbell and Alma are exceptionally competent practitioners. They even do some things that I am pretty sure most doctors would just refer to a specialist or to the ER, like stapling my son's head when he got a sports injury and repairing infant tongue-tie. I am in the health care field myself and I trust them. They will always give you as much time as you need or want, making sure that all your concerns are fully answered. I have never felt rushed in any way with either practitioner. They are both extremely caring and good with kids. You really get the feeling that Dr. Rodbell in particular is doing this as a calling, not a job. He has spent significant amount of time and given us specific medical advice several times over the phone when we were out of town, even though he doesn't get paid anything for these "visits." It's kept one of my children out of the ER with a chronic medical condition several times. There are a few 1 star reviews here. I notice a common theme with almost all of them - the parents objected to Dr. Rodbell "pushing vaccinations." Note that while, yes, he does follow accepted, proven medical science regarding recommending standard vaccinations, he is very accommodating with spacing out vaccinations so that multiple aren't given at once. You can just make a nurse visit for the extra vaccination visits so there is no wait. They have been amazing about Covid-19 safety. They are on the ground floor in a quiet area, so they set up a private examining room next to the parking lot. The office is reserved for well visits only. We have been very impressed by their ability to diagnose and treat over telemedicine for many issues. They'll ask me to take particular close up pictures usually. Pre-covid (and I assume post-covid) their 8:00-8:30 no-appointment in-and-out walk-in hours were a godsend. I could literally walk in at 8 and walk out at 8:20 sometimes, with no appointment, for quick things like a strep test or ear check. read more

I am extremely unhappy with this practice. This office was recommended to us by my OB since I was pregnant. Even thou I was told the dr will come to the hospital when my daughter will be born, no one showed up. I have been to at least 5 check-ups so far and every single time we go in they make us wait at least an hour before the doctor comes in. Yes, waiting for at least an hour with an undressed newborn it's quite concerning!!! They also PUSH vaccines at every single visit and if by any chance you decide to refuse them like we have, you are a complete joke to them. Just 2 weeks ago we went in for a check-up and the prescription was being sent to the wrong pharmacy and all they did was laugh about it. I would NOT recommend this practice to anyone! read more

Horrible, money hungry If it wasn't for his vaccine pushing agenda, he would be a cool doctor. He is good with the kids and does have experience. Came in for a wound and he immediately pushed the tetanus vaccine. I wanted to see the insert and he was reluctant to give it me. Once he did, he confessed that it will be a cocktail of vaccines, not just the isolated tetanus shot. Without getting into the vaccine debate, I was very open to the tetanus vaccine alone. He told me that the emergency room might have it. So I wanted to leave, but he tried to keep me detained to sign a waiver basically stating that I am putting my child's life in danger by not vaccinating her. I did not sign. I got home and did some research. There was 0 cases of tetanus reported in the US in 2016 and 2017 by WHO which is the World Health Organization. I understand that money rules the world and he gets paid by the pharmaceutical company for every vaccine, but our kids are our future. We got a new pediatrician!! read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Rodbell. He is the most perfect pediatrician I can imagine: he's patient, concerned and careful with your little angel; he's clearly up to date on new research from the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics; he listens impeccably, and he is 100% available when you need him. He had a very smart solution to a very strange sleep problem that our infant had, and mommy was only sleeping in 45 minute chunks as a result....which resulted in general family misery ;) This makes Dr. Rodbell our family's hero!! I highly recommend meeting with Dr. Rodbell if you're pregnant and looking for a small-practice pediatrician where you'll see the same doc every time. Or if you're looking to switch or new to town--you won't be disappointed. read more

I am very unhappy with this doctor as well. He made us visit the clinic every week in the first two month since my son was born, and almost every time all they have done was to undress my poor little guy and weigh him. I talked with other friends later and found out this was totally unnecessary! The only explanation that came to my mind is that they wants to charge more often. And they even weigh my son wrong sometime! In the second month, my son was inhospitalized and we needed to see Dr. Rodbell after he was discharged, which was the same time as one appointment. The nurse in his clinic said that they need to double the charge because this visit might take longer. This is absurd!! All they are thinking is money, money, and money! read more

We LOVE Sage Hill Pediatrics! I chose Dr. Rodbell because he takes GA state healthcare, but I am SO thankful that we accidentally found him! I would rate him at 100 stars if I could because of the care he has given my 3 children! My kids call Ms. Esmeralda the "Shot Ninja" because of how quickly and painlessly she delivers shots! All of the staff are kind and helpful and great with my kids. I have had to reschedule some appointments with no problem. The staff are quick to return my calls, and appointments are always easy to schedule. Dr. Rodbell is incredible with my highly energetic children and has never been agitated with them. He knows how to have fun with them but is always highly respectful. He is highly knowledgeable about ADHD medicine, which has been wonderful because that meant we didn't have to find a separate psychiatrist to prescribe the meds my child needs. We went through a really rough time last year with our child with ADHD, ODD, and other health concerns, and I broke down sobbing during my children's appointment, and he handled my meltdown with unbelievable empathy and understanding, and he was able to point us in the right direction and help us get a handle on our situation. He also worked with us financially as we were "in process" for a LONG time in getting approved for Peach Care. The wait times in the front of the office have never been long. The wait time in the patient room has been long a couple of times, but honestly, that has been my experience across the board in 4 different states. The difference with Dr. Rodbell is that I've never felt rushed. I don't mind the wait because I know the care that my children will receive with him when it's their turn will be thorough and extensive. I highly recommend Dr. Rodbell to you, but my children are between the ages of 8-3, so I don't have experience with him with my kids as infants. read more

We've come to Dr Rodbell since my son's birth by a recommendation. We had trouble with his weight gain and breastfeeding and gave me advice that, much later on, I've found that was meant for weaning, not building milk supply. He pushed me to supplement formula, giving me a sob story about his own wife needing to formula feed. I struggled with breastfeeding (with supplementation) for 6 months and finally went exclusive formula feeding since my supply dried up. I was devastated, but accepted that I just couldn't provide for my baby, but my anger toward Dr Rodbell's practice rekindled when I found out what horrible advice he gave me, knowing now that this could've been avoided. We also had to wait at least an hour before he would see us for appointments, told us that attachment parenting is not culturally relevant to American society, but had no evidence to show me that it was, or that it was unhealthy for my child (we didn't listen to this particular advice, and our son is a healthy, well-adjusted toddler now). We had since moved and had our second baby, and I grew more informed and wiser and discovered how inadequate and out-dated Dr Rodbell's methods are. I do not wish anyone to go to him for any kind of care, because the most mistakes we've made with our precious firstborn was under the advice of this pediatrician. read more

We would give him 10 stars if we could! Great experience every time we have our visits. The staff is amazing there and they're always able to get us in last minute and seen quickly! Also, Dr. Rodbell cares so much for patients, anytime we have a concern he always types out a game plan packed full of tips that make it so easy for first time parents! Most importantly, Dr. Rodbell was there when we needed help the most. Once our now 8 month old was unfortunately was sick at 2.5 months, we had to stay at CHOA and Dr.Rodbell and his staff were so helpful and supportive during that time! Dr also made sure to follow up with us and was able to get quick responses for us from all of our attending physicians. Another impressive thing was that almost every top physician there at CHOA knew who Dr.Rodbell was and had wonderful things to say about him. Having this level of expert care is the best choice any parent can make for their child! read more

If you are looking for a pediatrician, I highly recommend Dr. Rodbell. He is very knowledgeable and really good at explaining what's going on with our child's body. He has a gentle manner and is great with kids (he has five of his own). But what I especially love as a first time parent is how much time he is willing to spend with us and how available he is. He makes sure all of our questions are answered and it is obvious that he really cares. It's easy to get a same-day appointment if you need one, there's never a long wait at the office and all of the staff are really sweet. If only all doctors were this good! read more

Wonderful doctor and wonderful office. We took our newborn to him and he took lot of time talking to us like a friend and assuring that everything was fine with the baby. One of the nurses, Laura, assisted my wife with valuable breast-feeding tips. I highly recommend Dr Rodbell to anyone. Incredible pediatrician. Extremely knowledgeable and impeccable bedside manners. We came to him after a terrible experience at another doctor's office with our newborn. What a world of difference. He is very pro-active and will listen and address your concerns thoroughly. I have met so many condescending doctors and he is definitely on the other end of the spectrum. Takes your concerns very seriously. Now be forewarned he practices Sabbath so he wont be able to see you from Friday noon till Sunday so if you have an emergency those days you have to make emergency arrangements through one of their other doctors, which may be bothersome to some people. Otherwise, this is one of the best doctors I have ever met and his growing practice demonstrates how in demand he is. read more

Both of our girls have been patients with Dr. Rodbell for a few years and we've had our reservations from time to time, but always came back until recently. In the most recent experience we had with Dr. Rodbell we have decided it is in our best interest to find a new doctor for our LO's. Dr. Rodbell misdiagnosed our daughter with having the flu, when in fact she never had the flu to begin with, she had pneumonia. He prescribed her Tamiflu, which we started her on and less than 36 hours after she was admitted into the hospital where she tested negative for the flu. She was treated for pneumonia only. We were so upset... We reached out to Dr. Rodbell's office where we spoke to Emily, the office "manager", and told her what happened and how our child was misdiagnosed. There was no remorse or ownership on the other end of the line, instead loads of BS excuses. At that point all I asked for was reimbursement from them of the outrageous $75 I spent on the Tamiflu out of pocket, which we never needed to begin with. Emily told me she would run my request my Dr. Rodbell and get back to me, but no surprise, she never called me back. I called again and followed up and again was greeted with excuses and told I would get a call back and again nothing. I've lost all trust in this establishment and Dr. Rodbell's judgment and integrity. It seems to me he is more concerned with billing my insurance as often as possible. He is always quick to schedule follow's, where we are shelling out back to back copayments and he bills my insurance company ridiculous rates. He'll see my child for 3-5 minutes and bill $600-700 a visit. Parents use caution when considering this office as your child's source of wellbeing. read more
