Dr. Herrman made the very poor decision to voice her concerns about my child's weight IN FRONT OF THE CHILD, rather than privately to me, her mother. She told her that she shouldn't be in the running club anymore because she could "drop dead any second" since she is underweight according to the (outdated) BMI chart. Unbelievable, and totally inappropriate. She scared the lights out of my kid and had her obsessing over her weight and body for truly no reason. I refuse to force food or encourage any kind of body shame. My child eats well, and is naturally petite, as is my whole family. Shame on this doctor for not knowing what should and should not be discussed in front of an impressionable 9 year old. We have since found a wonderful pediatrician for her and are much happier in her care.

From the very beginning, I clearly communicated my religious decision not to vaccinate my child and was told this would be accepted with a proper exemption. I followed all instructions and provided the required documentation. At no point was I told this would become an issue. At my child's 4-month appointment, I arrived on time and was immediately told I "did not have an appointment," despite having confirmation from this office. While I searched for proof, I overheard a staff member go to the back and tell the doctor that I was "trying to be seen without an appointment," which was completely false. This was said in a dismissive and disrespectful tone. After I provided proof, no one apologized or took accountability. When Dr. Tristan J. Van Voorhis entered the room, there was no greeting, no professionalism, and no attempt to address what had just occurred. Instead, I was told my child could not be seen due to insurance issues that were not accurate. After I corrected that, I was then given a completely different reason--that their "policy had changed" and my child would no longer be seen due to vaccination status, despite prior approval and documentation already being on file. We were then left sitting in the exam room for over an hour with no communication, no follow-up, and no resolution. No one returned. As a Black mother in a predominantly white practice, the tone, treatment, and assumptions made throughout this entire experience felt dismissive, disrespectful, and deeply uncomfortable. The way I was spoken about, ignored, and ultimately denied care after previously being accepted raises serious concerns about bias and discriminatory treatment. This was not just poor customer service--this was a complete failure of professionalism, communication, and basic human respect. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge other families--especially families of color--to proceed with caution when considering this practice.

You can't call in and speak to someone you can't call in and get your prescription, everything is online and for grandmother sometimes these things are difficult. I would need to speak to someone. The young lady I spoke to the day was not very nice or friendly and kept me on hold for 20 minutes. It was not appreciated. There are some good doctors there still but the service is not the same.

Parking is free and right there outside the clinic. Dr. Rodbell is thoughtful and very up-to-date on all his data, and Alma (the NP) is very efficient and really good about coming up with customized plans for our child. They always respond quickly on the portal, and we have multiple times been able to reach one of the two providers by phone on the weekend with questions ranging from true urgency to just general reassurance for first-time parents. They have done quickly scheduled sick visits both in person as well as on telehealth depending on convenience. They have easily connected us with outpatient lactation specialists, imaging studies at CHOA, and other ancillary services. On a less objective note, you can tell they really care deeply about the kids they take care of and enjoy watching them grow. Sometimes the appointments start up to half an hour late, but that's because they always take the time to really hear you out and address everything. And we haven't had that kind of delay the last few times. Anyway- as a first time parent, I would strongly recommend this office.

This office has a very strange vibe to it. They are not friendly and warm at all. Something a pediatrician office should be at all times especially with kids. The ONLY reason we continued to go to this office is because they have availability and it is close by. However after recent experiences we will never return. The office is always empty while other peds offices are not even accepting new patients. This should have been warning enough. Previously my daughter was misdiagnosed according to another physician who we took her to the same day who claimed this office should have never let us leave if they claimed her diagnosis was fatal. Another recent visit, they seemed annoyed by us being there. We called and got a same day appointment and not once smile out of Dr. C - very stern and zero warmth. The front desk is not much better. Fake smile at best, zero genuiness. They charge $100 upfront and then bill you 2 weeks later for co-pay. When things keep appearing without explanation, I have to take time out of my very busy schedule to chase down what a co-pay is about and for what date of service. No clarity ever. All in all, I am so extremely disappointed in the way we were treated. I take my nanny in with me for help and they are extremely rude to her and do not acknowledge her presence. We will never endorse this behavior and hope no one else has to face the unkind experiences we have had.

The Nurse who did the piercing was personable, professional, and took her time to ensure we where comfortable. I am so pleased with the job she did. The office is so cute and clean too! Apparently all the rooms have different country themes. We were in the African room. Lastly, I do wanna point out that they do use medical plastic instead of metal earrings. This is the same material they use for a medical heart stent. This is to ensure there is no bad reaction to the earrings. I like that. They are also still cute!

They are very responsive and kind to frazzled first time parents. The nurses and staff have also been great. They remember my daughter and joke around with her. It is a welcoming and pleasant experience, even in bad circumstances.

Here are some of the things I love about him: -He is precise and very tech-savvy. He always brings his laptop into the exam room, and at our first appointment he dictated his notes (which he had taken on the exam table paper) into his iPhone in front of us, encouraging us to "please interrupt me and pipe in if I miss something or misrepresent anything." -It's clear that he and his staff LOVE kids. Their enthusiasm is readily evident and infectious. He taught us his favorite swaddling technique and his favorite baby-calming hold/jiggle, and he was visibly and vocally sad when we left the office: "I hope I don't see you soon [because I don't want your babies to be sick], but I'm sad I won't see them as often." -He is all about empowering you as a parent, rather than spoon-feeding you precise information (which doesn't work, because all infants are different!) He gently encourages you to trust your newly-emerging parental instincts and read your baby's cues, and he has a phenomenal sense of when to push you on this, versus when you need more support and hand-holding. -When our boys had fevers after their first vaccines and we called his call service at night, he called back in less than a minute. He also assured us that "as new parents, you should feel free to have a very low threshold when it comes to calling me tonight. Don't feel bad or silly. It's your right and I expect it." -He is exceptionally flexible when it comes to scheduling. As stated in other reviews, it's easy to get a same-day appointment if you need it. He's also open on Sundays for walk-ins and a handful of well visits. -He is humble and honest. When I told him how happy we were to have found him, he said "well, there is a honeymoon period. If you ever - EVER - feel that your are less than happy with my office, please let me know." -The nurse practitioners in his office are wonderful. Kelly Hightower also does lactation consulting - either in office or at your home - and is SO good at what she does. She had suggestions for breastfeeding twins that I would have never thought of. -As a same-sex couple, my partner and I have always been treated with warmth, kindness, and respect - in other words, we've been treated as they would treat any other couple.
