I hate leaving negative reviews (I've only left one other before due to horrible service) but I feel that I must for Rainbow Kids and staff. My daughter, who just turned 3 years old had been a patient here since her birth. Before Dr. Hermann's office moved to it's new location, my husband and I absolutely adored her and her front desk staff. After changing locations and front desk staff (we began to notice the high turnover rate for front desk staff at this office), the services became less than stellar. The first issue that I dismissed was the new young lady working at the front desk. She would never smile or greet us, only speaking to ask for our payment in a very dry monotone voice - which we found to be a bit cold. Since we liked Dr. Hermann, we ignored it and continued. Late last year, my husband and I purchased a home in Henry County which is located close to an hour away from Dr. Hermann's office. In the midst of our move, our daughter had a horrible asthma flare up. We called Rainbow Kids and to our dismay, they didn't have any close available appointments. Due to the nature my toddlers asthma (she's been hospitalized in the ICU due to the severity of it), we decided to weigh our options and see about finding a practice closer to home. I called Dr. Hermann's office and informed the young lady at the front desk of my plans. I let het know that under no circumstances did I want to switch pediatricians, but that my little one needed to be seen by a doctor asap. I also requested a copy of my daughter's shot records via email to show the new pediatrician that we'd be seeing that day. The young lady at the front desk said ok, and sent me over the shot records. As soon as my daughter was seen by the new pediatrician (who was amazing and saved us a trip to the E.R.) I called Rainbow Kids to inform them and to schedule our next appointment as requested. The young lady on the phone informed me (in an extremely icy tone) that we had been dropped from their practice because the other office requested a copy of my daughter's medical records. To say that I was shocked would have been an understatement. I had JUST had a phone conversation with their office about wanting to stay on as a client, but needing to be seen by a doctor immediately - which the lady at the front desk seemed to agree with. Because my toddler's asthma couldn't wait a few more days to be seen by Dr. Carol Hermann, she dropped my sick toddler with out notice. Of course I went into panick mode. When your child is sick, and has NO doctor, the feeling can be overwhelming. Thank goodness that the other local pediatrician offered to take us on after I explained what happened. Fast foward to yesterday (4 months LATER) and we receive a phone call from Rainbow Kids Pediatrics asking if we wanted to come in for our daughter's 3 year checkup. I informed the NEW front desk person (who was very kind actually) that we had been dropped months ago which she seemed confused about.
This office started of really well, but the lack of organizational skills should make you think twice before committing. I feel the doctor is overwhelmed with the growth of her practice and is not able to keep up with the demands of it all. Our last few months with her practice, we were frequented by medical students and not the doctor herself - and we were never informed ahead of time that we wouldn't be seeing her. If you're looking for a natural approach doctor then she is it, but if your little one gets ill, there is no guarantee that Dr. Hermann will be of any service as she drops patients with absolutely NO prior notice. read more
