Rooftop on a Monday evening. Dead, but GOOD if you're looking for a quieter bar option!
    Stephanie S.

It's all about the rooftop patio, baby! On a Monday, it was completely dead AND they do close it up at 10:30pm so keep that in mind. I believe last call for food was around 9pm. Bonus, it's nice and quiet and you don't need to shout over any music. Service was friendly, drinks were good and well-priced (cocktails were ~$6+change), steak quesadilla was tasty! Again, rating might be a completely different story on the weekends which are busy, busy, BUSY during the Summer months. One of the more solid, non rip-off options in Port Credit!

I was looking for a place with a patio and a decent menu in Port Credit and came across Roc n Docs. It was a beautiful day and the fact that their patio is rooftop, enticed me even more. With the waterfront festival going on and the weather being so great, I was surprised that they weren't more busy on a Saturday afternoon. There were only 2 other couples on the patio when we got there. My girlfriend and I both ordered a sangria and I ordered the honey garlic wings with fries and my girlfriend got the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. The wings were ok. The flavour wasn't anything outstanding. I would say even the wings at the hot table at Fortinos give more flavour. The fries looked better than they tasted. Think Swiss Chalet fries but thicker. The sangria was good and the fruits they used looked super fresh. Not frozen. I wish they added some mango or maybe some peaches. I think that would've made it perfect. I'd come back for the patio and maybe try an appetizer like nachos or something. 3.5/5.

This is a nice little bar with great food! There was a live band playing so a $5 fee was charged per entry. However, the service is amazing and they have one of the best chicken burgers! The Poutine and mozzarella sticks were good as well.

Who would have thought that a series of kitchen closures along the Lakeshore strip last night would land us in this fun little Port Credit spot! What's more, this spot had a live band AND 1/2 price on their entire menu?!?! Fate I tell you, folks, FATE!!! After a Yelp event just down the street at Ten Restaurant & Wine Bar a group of yelpers and I were looking for a change of scenery for a couple of drinks and some quick snacks. After walking west on Lakeshore and finding spot after spot closed we happened upon Roc'n Docs! They had a strict 25+ age restriction at the door and they nearly denied me (I'm 28 by the way) because my newly shaven baby face looked too young to enter (OK OK I admit it, I was kinda dressed like Dennis the Menace). Once we all got in (what a hassle), we found our way to the rear of the restaurant and took up seating where we could. As the band set up it was awesome to see this place was packed for a Sunday night! RnD had an interesting vibe/look to it, it was almost like a dive bar where you go to see undiscovered bands before they get big mixed with really nice fixtures and decor. Bravo guys I really enjoyed the look of your place! My kinda jam! Once at the bar we ordered a round of drinks, I found out that the entire menu with the exception of 2 items was on for 50% off! Amazing! My Buffalo CM amigo and I ordered the rib special which came in quick time and were blazing hot! The meat was tender and saucy! Were they the best ribs I've ever eaten? No. Were they good enough to make me come back. Yes. Then the band started and while I didn't get their names I did enjoy their renditions of popular Bob Marley classics and others. I can't wait to come back and if you're looking for live music and good food and drinks in Port Credit, give this place a try!

Had a great night here with some friends. The service was pretty good when we got there early for dinner because it wasn't that busy. Later on in the evening service was much slower. We came to see a friend that was performing on stage. The acoustics were pretty good. The food was really good. They just happened to have a half price special on ribs and wings that night. Had a fun night roc'n at Doc's. There is also an outdoor patio upstairs.

Finally got a chance to go here and it was great. Sunday night everything on the menu is 25% off. They had a cute elderly man doing live music. The drink selection is good, and the food was above par for sure. I will be back. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming and clean.

Decent service and mediocre food. Our waiter was friendly but she didn't do anything special, we had to call her over a few times. Our wings were a little on the dry side and flavourless. They were advertised as "grilled wings" so I was expecting char marks like the ones from the pump in clarkson but it was more of a crispy skin. My poutine was delicious! One of the best poutine sides I've ordered. Usually when you upgrade your poutine to a side the restaurant doesn't even use cheese curds but they do. I'd come back because they have great prices and I'm sure they have more to offer.

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. The menu leans fusion, so there was a lot to try, and overall it felt like a fun place to share plates and compare notes with the table. The cocktails definitely stood out for being stronger than the usual lighter, sweeter drinks you get elsewhere, and the smoky cinnamon one was probably the most memorable. For appetizers, the beef tartare with bone marrow was the clear winner for me. The tartare tasted bright and fresh, and the marrow was rich without feeling greasy. The mussels were also enjoyable, mostly because they were fresh and sat in a creamy broth that made the whole dish feel comforting. We also tried the octopus with pumpkin purée, which had a nice chewy texture and a lovely sweetness from the purée, although a slight charred taste came through more than I personally wanted. For mains, a few dishes landed better than others. The ribeye with chimichurri was one of the stronger choices, tender, properly cooked medium rare, and especially good with that sharp, herbaceous sauce. The ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. The salmon in puff pastry was enjoyable enough that I would order it again, even though the pastry itself was a little softer than I expected. The udon carbonara was decent and comforting, but probably not the most memorable thing on the table, and the signature chicken had flavorful meat even if the rice leaned a bit too soft for me. One small complaint I kept coming back to was the bread, which tasted more charred than I like. Still, Wilcox feels like a nice little spot for a relaxed dinner with drinks, especially if you go in the mood to share, explore the menu, and order a few of the stronger dishes.

We have the cauliflower bites to start as an appie. They were very good. My main was the chicken fingers & fries. The fingers appeared to be the cheap ones out of the box!? I'm not sure how restaurants think this is ok & charge $17.00 for them! And despite my request for well done fries...they weren't! To top it off...the food wasn't as hot as it should have been. On the upside, our server Simone was very nice, however. I've observed that lately restaurants aren't serving the ketchup in the bottles as before. Now you're limited to little cups of ketchup. I don't know about you but I'm NOT a fan! This place was too mediocre to warrant a higher review or another "go out on a snowy night visit" again.

None of us were overly-satisfied with the experience and I doubt any of us would return voluntarily. They do appear to have a nice patio which would seem nice in the summer; however, it's currently facing a construction zone that doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon. It labels itself as an English pub and they've done very nice things with the décor. I especially appreciate the rows of books at the back of the pub. There are numerous flat screen TVs distributed throughout the pub, playing various sports games/races. The servers are friendly and prompt, although, they asked a couple of questions indicating they weren't familiar with the menu. The atmosphere was pleasant and laid back, The menu has "traditional English fare" at traditional English prices. A typical entrée will cost between $12-$15. Their bar menu is more reasonable with beers ranging from $3-6. One friend has a gluten allergy and only had one option to choose from when picking a main. Thankfully, she was somewhat in the mood for salad but when asked how it was, she responded "it's lettuce." Not the best review of a dish I'd ever heard. The rest of us ordered traditional English classics. Two of the members in the party were very curious about the strange aftertaste left by the "bangers" in the bangers and mash. I must admit, I tried it and couldn't label the strange taste either. The fish and chips were decent but slightly over priced. The best part of that dish for me was the coleslaw of which I could have eaten that dressing all day. When time for coffee and dessert, this place lost another star or two. One person in our party wanted decaf (which they didn't have) and the one person who wanted dessert was underwhelmed by the ONE option available, a deep fried mars bar. Those who had regular coffee were satisfied with it's taste. However, the rest of us went to local Tim Hortons to satisfy our coffee and sweet tooth cravings after dinner. All in all, a lot of little things were wrong or missing that gave this place such a low rating. I don't believe any of us will be returning voluntarily in the future.
