At the time I was only 23 and had never gone through the experience of having to bury a loved one. They lead me through the whole process and explained everything. The whole process was probably as easy as they could have made it. All of the recommendations for a florist, limo service, everything they helped with and all recommended companies made that day seamless. I definitely recommend using them if you ever have to. They have a wonderful staff that really will go above and beyond for you.

Our family can never thank him for the peace he has given us. My brother Glenn recently passed away in Texas. He he did not have a wife or family who could take care of his burial in Texas. I contacted Schmitt's funeral and spoke to Curt and he recommended a funeral director in El Paso TX who I was able to get my brother from the hospital morgue to a facility where he could be properly cremated and then after some veterans paperwork... We were able to have his remains shipped to New York to the Charles G Schmitt funeral home. Curt was wonderful with his staff making arrangements for my brother who is an army veteran. The thing is I haven't been in contact with my brother for over 40 years so I didn't have a lot of information and what little information I was able to provide they were able to get my brother approved to be laid to rest at the Long Island National veterans cemetery in Farmingdale. The staff at the Long Island National veterans cemetery was amazing, I was thankful for the honor guard as well as the clergy that was provided. There is no words for the value and appreciation one gets from a military service. Our cemetery would not make any recommendations and only a hand full of friends have had to make this choice in their lives so no real solid leads. So, I did some research and found Davydov on Yelp! Their reviews were very good so we decided to go with them. With in 24 hours Mr Albert Davydov contacted me and was very knowledgeable and up front with how the work has been heavier then normal due to the Covid virus. We were in no rush and we're actually thinking Spring delivery when we started this journey in August. Albert listened to our vision and helped us every step of the way from color of stone, lettering style, quotes, and designs. Our cemetery is very strict with specifications allowed and Albert assisted us through the while process making it so much easier fir us. Sadly, my younger brother passed away so the monument production came to a halt and more paperwork was needed before production could commence. Thank goodness for Albert and his experience, we were in total shock with this passing and Albert kept us on track. Towards the end one of our very important details was not going to work as we thought and although we were sad; it sounded like the words would be too small couldn't be done. We would be happy with just the shape of the badge. We were so thankful for Albert's patience with us. Well...the monument was delivered and it looks stunning! Albert and his design team decided to HAND etch the details of the badge for us and I was speechless! So brass is being lifted, as in stolen from what I was told - all around NY cemeteries, gosh we're stooping to new lows in today's society folks - so brass or any moderately rare metals were out as to plates or ornimental decorations. Albert informed us that certain sections get certain sizes so ya can't just plop any headstones anywhere, there is a system and we were in the more moderately priced section. I was convinced that this was going to be a trying task, but with double monitors and PDF's up the ying yang, choosing a proper headstone was as easy as ordering business cards online, give or take We waited till spring, as Albert advised so the dirt will have time to settle, no mud will splash up upon the black granite and new grass will sprout around it soon, as soon as it's delivered which thankfully is part of the price.

They took no time to explain anything to my family and myself and they treated my mother, the widow as though she did not deserve a second of their time. When asked to explain certain fees, they always responded by stating that the price was standard. Looking back now, we definitely overpaid for certain things. The only reason we chose them in the first place was because my father was friends with the owner. I would never recommend this place. My father deserved better.
