My parents purchased plots when she passed, and since then we had moved to California. On July 29th of 2025, my mother passed away after years of making it clear that her only wish was to be buried with her daughter, across the country. Dodge Thomas was my third call, after being recommended by a relative, as I tried to make final arrangements for my mother as she was on hospice. Mind you, we're in California. From the first call, I dealt with Blake. To say I was impressed is an understatement. From California to New York, Blake arranged everything. Once she passed and I called Blake, everything was set in motion. As for the services (wake, mass and burial), Blake (and the entire staff) went out of their way to make sure my family and I were looked after, that we were taken care of, and went out of their way to make sure that my mom's services were conducted with care, integrity, and honesty. Through the darkest chapter of my life, Dodge Thomas proved to be a kind, respectful, honest and caring beacon of light. For that, I am eternally grateful. Unfortunate to have met under these circumstances, but for any end of life arrangements, I cannot recommend Dodge Thomas enough. 20/10.

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, not only with my dad's funeral itself but also just answering general questions for me (especially as a first timer) and helping coordinate a military flag folding as well as putting his ashes into a special biodegradable urn for ocean scattering. Two things: -The property was getting yard work and leaf blowing done during our scheduled viewing (8:30am). The landscaper was using a leaf blower right next to the door as guests were walking in, and continued throughout the viewing. It was very loud and distracting. Another guest even got up to shut a door it was so loud - the staff did nothing. It would be nice if they could schedule their landscaping around the times of services. -The owners dog "got out" (his words) and scampered into the viewing area. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, and the dog was well-behaved and did not bark. It was unclear if the dog was an official "therapy dog." But it was clear that the owner did not ask the widower of the deceased if he was okay with this. What if someone is afraid of dogs? Allergic? I just thought it was very unprofessional to have a large black lab barge into a small (fewer than 15 people) and quiet viewing. I can't comment on their services as far as arranging the funeral etc., but based on my experience as a guest, I would recommend folks in the area go elsewhere if they desire a quiet and peaceful wake/viewing because that is the opposite of what we got.

They are warm and welcoming with a terrific school and it is probably one of the only synagogues that is growing and growing here on Long Island! They took extra care to find a preacher from my relative's country to lead the services--that was such a thoughtful touch. Please move away from money grubbing funeral homes like the one in Canarsie that everyone goes to -- they don't care about you nor your family member.
