Then during the pandemic they were unavailable for a bit, and had the unfortunate experience of going to a competitor nearby which traumatized my cat all three visits. I'm outraged and deeply disappointed by the service and total lack of customer care my friend received from RockStar Rover. I bought her a gift certificate for $205, unfortunately one of her kitties was sick so she couldn't use it right away. I was in utter disbelief to discover they would not honor the gift certificate, especially considering gift certificates do not expire in the State of California - and it is illegal in the state of California not to honor a gift certificate. Have gone here several times and have never had any issues. I have a MalShi puppy that isn't used to baths but thanks to the groomers here, he's okay with baths now! He always comes back with a nice nest trim. A bath and cut is about an hour, depending on the day, they're very timely. Would definitely recommend to picky dog owners! This review has been 5 years in the making. I love this place. I have a Pomeranian that is pretty nippy when he doesn't want to do something. My girlfriend and I use to always have to find new places around town to take him to get cut and groomed. He would let you do anything once but the 2nd time around he was on to you. I don't have kids but getting calls from the groomer to come pick your dog up because he is misbehaving is the equivalent of getting a call from the school saying come get your child because hes out of control. It was always so embarrassing. Anyways we went to Rockstar Rover and when we took him back for the 2nd time we were expecting the same call, "your dog is misbehaving and we cant do anything for you". But no!! Allison was the groomer and we go back to her every few months! I don't know what she does, but she is somehow able to shave him, bath him, cut nails, everything! She always says how well he behaved he is, but I don't know if shes being nice or what, but I don't care. He always comes back looking great and smelling good. We used Allison for a number years. Back to when she worked at Petco West Hollywood. We continued to use her when she started her own mobile grooming company and even once we moved to the valley from LA. I always felt deep down the the washes were great but the hair cuts were always uneven and funky. I wanted my Maltese to have that fluffy Maltese look and every time I asked for a trim he would come back looking really funky. We would laugh sometimes because he would look a little funny. We never looked for anyone else because we used her for so long we grew loyal and comfortable with her. Finally the last time she came to our house to groom the dogs she forgot to put their collars back on. One of my dogs has a habit of finding a way out of the back yard and running away no matter how we try to secure the back yard. Thankfully neighbors always call to return her. So when Allison forgot their collars I was a little stressed to let one of the two run free in the back yard. We texted her to let her know she had them and she responded saying she will put them in the mail. Time went by and we never got it so we called again and she said she had forgotten and she was camping and would do it when she got back. So more time goes by we try calling, texting and nothing. She completely avoided us. That was two years ago. We are still yet to here back. We were loyal clients for 6 years and it really was disappointing. We didn't think she was that type of person. Bad bad business! Our years of loyalty clearly meant nothing to her. It ended up being a blessing in disguise since it forced us to look for a new groomer and our new lady is great we have been using her for two years now and she is almost half the price and does amazing work! read more

Okay so I decided to have my dog groomed here on a whim because let's face it, between being too busy with work and battling extreme procrastination/laziness, I couldn't help but prolong my poor dogs regular grooming. I think my dog was also getting overheated from his long fur and might possibly have picked up a flea or two due to all the scratching. Alright, fine, he also didn't have a bath in two weeks so he did have that raggedy look. I was extremely glad that they were able to take him in the same day (a couple hours after I called in actually). Not only that but my day was packed with errands and such that they were still informative and accommodating. I even had my friend drop him off whom dropped him off late, but they still took him in. Anyways, my dog is no stranger to jagged and choppy haircuts. Whether it's because I cut his hair on my own or just experimented with too many different groomers to be the "best" competitive cost option, he never quite had the perfect cut from nearby groomers. My favorite groomer is 20+ miles away and takes a good week for an appointment. This place is slightly more expensive than my favorite groomer, but exceeds in quality. When I picked my dog up his hair was perfect! It was exactly how I asked and the groomer here is so thorough that when she explained all the things that were included I definitely thought I was getting a bargain. The cost includes your typical groomer package; bath, haircut, gland expression, and nail trim. However, she include a free flea bath and another bath after to condition his fur. I guess she did this because flea baths are very damaging to the fur, but he needed it since I'm completely out of flea preventative. The groomer also filed down his nails to be smoother and more "presentable". But the main thing here is the haircut itself. It was probably mostly a clipper cut, but I've seen even other groomers fail at doing smooth clipper cuts. His face was perfect too! I can't tell you how picky I am about the way his face is cut. This is why I normally do it myself, but the groomer here nailed it. My dog came back cuter than ever and more dapper than I could imagine. I will be returning for my regular grooming since it's much closer. I really love the aromatherapy and spa treatments available too.
