Our chef was lovely and the food was great (aside from the rice being a little undercooked) but the company overall needs to improve tremendously as far as communication goes. I had reached out trying to submit payment about 4 days prior to our event and it took 2 days to get a response back. Then there was the day of the event. I was supposed to get a message that day to let us know what time the chef would be arriving to set up. I was expecting to be informed of this in the morning so that we could plan our day accordingly to make sure we would be home when the chef arrived. I was calling, leaving messages, I messaged the business on instagram, I sent an email, and I sent text messages asking for someone to let us know when to expect the chef when it had gotten to 4, 3, and 2 hours until our event was supposed to start. We finally got a message from our chef at 5:05pm saying he would be there at 6:40-6:55 to set up for our 7pm dinner. He ended up showing up at 6:35pm, and still the set up felt rushed and he seemed a little flustered about how quickly he had to do it. he also ran out of his alcohol used for flames, so we never got to get a grand finale. I still to this day haven't received any call, text, email, or instagram message apologizing for the lack of communication or even answering any of my questions. Again, we loved the chef, however we would absolutely never book with this company again because of the stress the lack of communication caused. Multiple times the day of the event we thought we had been scammed because no one was getting back to us to let us know when to expect the chef. We had booked this for the first day of my sisters Bachelorette trip, and luckily we had planned to hang out at the house most of the day, otherwise we would've had no idea how to plan when to return home to make sure the chef could set up. We just enjoyed a super fun birthday party/ lunar new year party with the Rockstar Hibachi mobile dinner service. We were excited to have dinner and a show while celebrating with friends. I will say that I thought I knew what to expect for hibachi, but this was way more fun than I anticipated. Chef Han was with us and he basically gave us the hibachi experience from Dick's Last Resort. Our dinner involved drinking games, trivia, being heckled, and a cool fire show at the end. Chef Han was hilarious and really did great with our rowdy group. Food was good, I enjoyed the scallops the most, cooked perfectly. Extremely disappointing experience and unacceptable business practices. I booked a hibachi experience two months in advance with a clearly stated $600 minimum, which I paid in full ahead of time. Their own booking system reflected that total even after adding extras. After the chef had already arrived and started setting up, I was suddenly told there was a "calculation error" and that my total was actually $935. A $335 increase, communicated only after the service had already begun. If a business makes a mistake, that is on them, not the customer. I booked well in advance, which gave them plenty of time to catch and correct any issue. Choosing to address it only after arriving on-site is completely unacceptable. What's worse is they proceeded to charge my card on file for the additional amount without my authorization. This was not a misunderstanding on my end. I relied on the total presented through their system and fulfilled my payment obligations before the event. Passing along internal errors after the fact and charging a card without consent is not okay. I would strongly caution anyone considering booking to get all pricing confirmed in writing and to monitor their card closely. read more

We immediately pulled the chef aside, and his response was a dismissive "I don't know how that would've gotten there. Sorry." No real concern, no ownership. I emailed their team right after with a photo of the screw. No response. The next day they sent a templated feedback form, which I replied to again, but it's now 5/11 and still no follow up. OMG! Where should I begin? I've only had hibachi food in Vegas at Volcano Grill and it was ALWAYS amazingly good and fresh. Since I have probably eaten at every Chinese restaurant in the valley and beyond, from coast to coast, this was the worse food experience I have had. I ordered a little after 10 pm; BOGO edamame and the rockstar fried rice. The expected delivery time constantly changed. I actually watched a full episodic show before the food arrived. The food FINALLY arrived closer to midnight, which was the latest arrive time. The driver was pseudo polite. As soon as he handed me my order I could tell there was something missing. I tried to call him but the recording claimed it didn't recognize my number that I'be had for over 15 years...hmm. So I went inside because my stomach was touching my spine. I opened the bag and my intuition was correct. There was only one of the two garlic edamame's ordered, which was fine because it was cold and there was absolutely NO garlic anywhere in sight or taste. Disappointing! I checked the Rockstar fried rice, which included chicken, steak and shrimp. The presentation was meh but looked like it may be fresh; it wasn't. My go to is usually rice or potatoes. So, excited, I took a spoon to mix up the ingredients since the protein sat on top of the rice; it was old, cold and smelled and tasted like someone dumped Cumin and sesame seeds on top before packing. The steak was tender and so was the chicken but, the shrimp were overcooked because they were tiny like popcorn shrimp; is that oxymoronic? The entire order was disgustingly disappointing, almost inedible if it wasn't for the two proteins (chicken and steak). You could literally count the amount of shrimp (2-3 pcs.) chicken (maybe 5 diced pieces and a few even smaller bite size steak pieces. It was a waste of money and the time it took to choose and place the order. It reminded me of the pandemic where there was no quality control. If you have the audacity to be open and call yourself a restaurant, you should have the goal of serving and selling food that you can be proud of. I'm a chef and this order would have NEVER gone out. One set of utensils, no soy sauce. Don't walk, run as far away from this place because there is NOTHING rockstar about it except for the bad behavior or in this instance awful food. Pros: Nothing Cons: Extremely long wait times. Cold and old food. Missing food. Missed notes. Simply not worth the wait, time or effort. Possibly a great concept but, poor execution. We had Sam for Hibachi. Day of, I had to reach out to the company twice for the chef to text. My last time reaching out was at 4:30 and the event was at 6:00pm. He texted me about the event and then proceeded to explain he got pulled over by a police officer for speeding. He sent, "Sorry Julia I might be a little bit late. I was stopped by police right now. F**ed up right now. I will be. I will be late for 15-20 minutes probably I hope you understand." Then showed up at 6:40 (40 minutes late). He was not apologetic at all and took a very long time to set up his grill. He was upset that there were stairs even though I explicitly told him there were. He finally set up around 7:30 and he began to eat our food. He did no tricks. He attempted to do a fire trick with the bride (we were on a bachelorette trip) and he failed. It was silent and incredibly awkward. The food portions were incredibly small considering we paid $750 for a great meal and entertainment. Then once we were finally done, we gave him a $100 tip. Which was very generous in our minds because the service was very terrible. Sam then proceeded to ask if he can charge the card on file the rest of the "20%" because that is typical for an event like this. He would not leave until we told him we would do it later. We did a trip to AZ and scheduled hibachi for our last night. it was terrible - they were late and gave various different excuses before admitting their party before ran late, took an hour to get everything set up and start cooking, and would not stop trying to force sake on us. Chef AK was nice but this was not professional behavior. We scheduled for 7pm and last minute they told us the time change was an issue so we had to pick between 4pm and 8pm, we picked 8pm. We didn't receive the first protein until 9:30pm. Some of the girls couldn't even stay to eat bc it took so long and they had to catch red eye flights. By 11pm we asked them to just cut it short because the rest of us had flights to catch so we didn't even get any of the seafood/vegetarian options. We were STILL asked to pay full price and when we tried contacting the company for a refund or discount we were ignored. TERRIBLE experience, TERRIBLE customer service. Have used this company several times in Dallas for large company party and it just keeps getting worse, but this was the last time. After confirming multiple times and final selections sent over a week in advance of their requirement, we did not get the white rice for almost 1/4 of our 45 guests, but kept being promised it was coming, but it never did. Then they finally tell us they didn't have any white rice, they used it all for fried rice. Would have been nice if they told us that sooner. The appetizer we spent over $200 on was forgotten and not served until the END of the meal and everyone pretty much done. They tried to bring SAKE even though we told them MANY TIMES we CANNOT have SAKE at work, and the entertainment was not that good this time. At our 2024 party, we were promised an extra chef because we have almost 50 people and the rice and vegetables sit there and get cold for 30 minutes before the meat starts to come out (learned from prior party), but of course they lied and did NOT send the extra chef after promising it several times. Spent a ton of money with these folks over the years, made a complaint by email twice in the last week since our last party, with NO Response, No Apology and of course No Compensation for one of our owners to stop eating and having to leave our company party to go down the street to buy rice, but unfortunately everyone was done eating by the time he got back, so some people didn't get their full meal! Also, it only seems they can communicate by email late at night, so you have to wait a day or two to get a response to questions, etc. read more
