Limited appetizers, liquor, wines, beers and fountain drinks. It was a very nice place to relax and unwind. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. I ordered my margarita with the charcuterie board with different types of cheese, olives, nuts, pickled veggies and bread. Margarita was not to over powering of alcohol or mixer. It was pretty balanced of alcohol and sweetness. The place was busy due to Zincon happening in the hotel. But staff keeped it pretty clean and redy for the next guest. Over all I enjoyed my time with a few friends. A bit pricey but worth it.

Service at the bar is great. Prompt and helpful. Our first round was ordered and closed out at the bar, and we took those cocktails to a table. From there, a server started rounding on us. This is where things went south. Table service is a crime!!!! Three of us sat and had drinks. I was paying in cash, or at least I thought I was! I already knew the price of the drinks because we had a round prior. I ordered one more while at the table, and my friends did not order anything g. So when then drink came, I gave her a $20. That should cover the drink AND the tip. HOWEVER- When we went to leave, the server came chasing me out with the bill. I was like excuse me? I gave you a $20. Did you think $20 per drink was your tip? She appeared a bit taken aback but the whole idea was we only had an hour and we were trying to get to dinner. She said I still owed her money!!!! I was in complete disbelief but also didn't want to make a scene or make us late for dinner. I will NEVER be served at a table at that bar again. Bartender service only. They don't get confused about customers paying with cash.

I ordered a soda and she just put it on a dirty table before I had to mention that the table needs to be wiped. I asked our waitress to wipe the table that was covered with cigarette ash's, but rather than cleaning it, she just wiped them all over the table with a sanitizer wipe. I asked for more wipes to wipe the table myself. There is still a full ash tray of cigarettes cigars sitting at our table with the dirty sanitizer wipes, overflowing. We've been sitting here for an hour and she's been at our table twice. Once to take our drink order and once after having an empty glass for 15 minutes to ask if we wanted a refill. Took 20 minutes to receive a new glass. The service is honestly trash. For charging so much, I expected better service. Her manners were awful, she didn't even introduce herself. If it was packed, I'd understand, but it wasn't. The waitress at the table next to us was checking on her table at the most every ten minutes. Or at least walking by making sure they didn't need anything.

Cold beer at Rocks in the Hyatt Regency

One of the bars inside the Hyatt Regency, we stopped in for a quick drink and a bite at the start of our conference week here in Orlando. The bar is comfortable and well lit, surrounded by big glass walls and overlooking one of the Hyatt's pools. Service was good, the beer was cold and the chips were crunchy. I liked the guac with them though not spicy enough. Not cheap, but reasonable considering the captive audience here at the hotel and on I-Drive.

The service is efficient, the food and drink specials for Happy Hour from 5-8pm are excellent and you can easily walk to your event. The Lounge is relaxed and not crowded as other locations in this area, especially before a performance or a Magic game. (Both were going on the night we stopped in.) Last year, Yelp held its annual award event here. I ended up meeting a couple that was in the lounge area that were going to Dr. Phillips later that night. We struck up a conversation-they asked what this big Yelp group was about, and I provided the details. They said they always come to the WXYZ Lounge before a performance arts event as this place is not crowded and the food is quite good. I remembered this conversation when a friend and I attended a recent event at Dr. Phillips. As luck would have it, Woody and Kim were in the Lounge when we walked in Friday night! I introduced them to my guest and thanked them for their recommendation. We then went to sit at the bar. First off, LeBeth was our main bartender, and she was excellent. We remembered each other from the Yelp event. We ordered two of the featured cocktails, Waterloo Rose Pedals (gin) and Svedka String Winder (vodka). My friend asked if the vodka drink was sweet and LaBeth stated she could add more lemon to her cocktail to counterbalance the sweetness. Both drinks were excellent, and although I liked my gin drink, I switched to the vodka drink for my second one after I had a taste of my friend's drink. A shout-out also to the "bartender in training", Jeffrey, who assisted us. The food was also amazing. We first ordered from the Small Bites menu. The Buffalo Cauliflower floret bites were lightly breaded and soft, with Bleu Cheese crumbles, and the buffalo dressing was provided on the side. Very tasty! The Veggie Eggrolls with the sweet Red Chili sauce was also a big hit. We then added a Chicken Caesar salad and the Fish Tacos from the Big Bites menu to also share. The salad was a good size, served in a large round, flat bowl, with the Caesar dressing on the side. The Fish Tacos were very FULL tacos, and the combination of the spicy sauce and the sweet and tangy coleslaw complimented each other well. We both agreed these were some of the best fish tacos we have tasted! Overall, a great place to stop in for Happy Hour and it is THE PERFECT stop before an event at the Dr. Phillips Performance Center.

There is paint just slopped on to every surface and drops all over where it should not be. You can tell they hired the cheapest and laziest connectors to "redo" these rooms. Shower was falling apart, paint on the shower floor, the carpet, tile etc. They literally put no care and minimal effort into these rooms. It just didn't sit right with me it just gave me an overall icky feeling staying in the room. Like I was staying in a motel off the side of a highway, not a reputable Marriott brand. The hotel is old, elevators are very slow and sketchy. Hallways are dark and carpets are stained everywhere. The thing is, I wouldn't say it was horrific but I wouldn't stay here again, when for $115 (only 10$ more) I can stay at the Courtyard which is a same tier level hotel, which is so much cleaner and well put together, like they actually care.

I stood at the hostess podium for a few moments while the hostesses talked amongst themselves at the other end of the restaurant. One made eye contact with me and then continued her conversation. A different hostess came in from out side and came over to help me out. I sat at the bar and started browsing the menu. Shortly after the bartender, Mason came over and asked if he could get me anything. I ordered an Adult Juice Box as I continued to look at their offerings. The restaurant had an open concept with large glass doors that were open to the pool deck, they also had out side tables that you could opt to sit at, with the kitchen opposite of the bar. I started with the Pinchos Shrimp & Barbados Wings. Both were DELICOUS! Mason was extremely attentive and friendly - he continually checked on everyone at the bar & assisted guests at the walk up window that was pool side. Mason ensured that everyone seated at the bar was topped off on their drinks may it be a cocktail or just water, he ensured our glasses were filled. I ordered another Adult Juice Box and the Jerk Chicken & Mango Salad. Everything was so delicious, and the service from Mason was great. Though my first impression when walking in was to be ignored by the staff much like my previous night at another hotel restaurant - Mason turned my experience around. So thanks, Mason you are a gem and they are lucky to have you!

It is a massive box structure with a fabulously large atrium in the middle. The check-in process was handled quickly and efficiently. This is a Marriott property and the staff were all very friendly and well trained. The elevators face in to the atrium, and it is a scenic view as you had up to your floor. Elevators were quick and there seemed like there was always one waiting on the first floor. Rooms were decently sized and well appointed - very clean and comfortable. Bed was in good shape and got the job done. Hot water was hot and made the shower experience fine. After putting my stuff up, I took a stroll around the place - most of the amenities appear to be in the first floor: bars / restaurants and shops. There is an outdoor pool area and a fitness center somewhere in there as well. To be fair, I did not spend a whole lot of time in the room as I had quite a few activities to attend to. Would I stay here again? I would if the cost of the room was workable. It also depends on where you are planning on going in Orlando. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend staying here if you have the option. Parking is self-park and cost is about $44 / day, or valet park for considerably more at $56/day

The lobby and the plants were stunning and really impressed us. We had a hiccup with our room type initially, but the staff upgraded us without issue. The room itself was clean, spacious, and on the 4th floor with a semi-pool view, which was lovely. However, there were some notable issues. The parking system didn't work correctly, and it seemed like this was an ongoing problem. The hot tubs were disappointing, one was closed, and the other had no jets and was the grossest hot tub we've ever seen. That was a major letdown. Checking out was a bit chaotic too, as there were people cutting lines and no one explained that there were multiple checkout lines, so my husband ended up waiting unnecessarily. On the bright side, the hotel restaurant was delicious, and our server there was great. The wine bar, unfortunately, was another story, the service was slow, and we ended up giving up and returning to our room. We enjoyed the upgrade and the overall ambiance of the hotel, so we would recommend it if the price is right, but definitely keep these issues in mind. I chose to give them 4 stars, instead of 3, due to the upgrade, and two free drink vouchers with check-in.
