If you rent a watercraft take photos of it prior to use and request and employee help you dock the boat each time you come in. The URI management that runs Rockport Marina are unprofessional and rude. The guys at the dock were nice. They are notorious for charging customers for damage that existed prior to your rental. They tried to charge a friends card $340 for allegedly worsening existing damage, we offered to pay the full amount if the manager could show us photos proving we caused the damage. He declined. We spent over $800 on water craft, cabins and incidentals. I have no doubt he charges the customer before us for the damage, didn't fix it and then tried to charge us. The state park is great, but URI's contract should not be renewed. I've never experienced anything like it. If you have a bad experience make sure you file a formal written complaint with the state park. read more

Do not rent a jet ski from this underhanded dishonest poor imitation of a company.Cody is the main culprit. I rented a jet ski for an hour and the machine simply died after 15 minutes.Not only was i denied a refund but my credit card was charged for another $300 with Cody the liar saying I was somehow responsible for the piece of unmaintained piece of garbage. We had a not so great experience with the new marina shop. Three of the four times we visited the shop there was not a employee there, only a sign saying they would be back in 5-10 minutes. Each time we waited, we were not the only customers waiting. We also had an issue with the water trampoline that we rented. It is advertised on their website as being a 13' trampoline, however, in reality, it was an approximately 6' trampoline with an inflatable platform and tube. The two anchors that held the trampoline in place were not strong enough for my four adult children. After an hour of playing on it, the trampoline floated away. My children had to swim it back into place. By the time they were done getting it back in place, they were exhausted and didn't want to play anymore. We had reserved it for four hours, so we wasted money. When we went back to the shop to let them know we were done with it, they thought my children had intentionally moved the trampoline and that's why the employee down at the beach didn't come help. What if my children were younger? They wouldn't have been able to swim back and being disabled I can't swim. Obviously there is a flaw with the anchor system of the trampoline. The last trampoline that we had used there was three times the size and was anchored with tie downs on the beach. In addition, while visiting the shop for ice cream, I had overheard a conversation where a mother had reserved youth kayakes for her children but none were available. She had to settle with adult sized, and she was none to happy about it. Because of this recent experience, we will not reserve nor visit the marina shop ever again. If you are looking to rent a cabin, here is a cabin review: upon arrival the smell in the sunset cabin is awful. Nothing was cleaned, other people's belongings were still in the cabin. So it was clear that no one even checked it before renting it out to other customers. There's no pictures on their website so I will leave some here. If you want to stay at Rockport bring a tent and save your $100 a night for a "cabin". read more

BEWARE!!!! GET A COPY OF YOUR CONTRACT BECAUSE THEY ALTERED MINE! At the start of the day the teenage attendants (looked to be around 12-13 years old), told us to just grab "whatever" life vests off the wall. They didn't pay any attention or give any direction as to the life vest checkout. Later in the day, Cody (The manager/owner) accused us of checking out 4 life vests when in fact it was 3. After we returned our boat rental, Cody demanded we pay an extra $30 to pay for life vest we never checked out. I then asked for a copy of my contract only to find out that the contract was altered with a pen after the fact that I had signed it. The incompetent staff members refused to say anything about when they issued us the vests and the owner refused to review the video surveillance to prove that we had only checked out 3 vests. After about 30 minutes of the owner calling us liars and thieves, he threatened to call the park ranger if we refused to pay the $30 for the "missing" life vest. We payed the $30 as he was on the phone calling the park ranger to come force us to pay it, accusing us of violating state law for not having a life vest. In the middle of all the accusations, Cody proceeded in the back room/office only to return with a gun on his hip. Outraged that the owner would go to that extreme in the presence of my 5 year old son, I was forced to sign a charge on my credit card to alleviate the situation due to the owners threats. If anyone else experiences this, feel free to contact me via email to get a class action law suit started promptly. I would also read up on their google reviews, as to this is not the 1st time this has happened. This place sucks! We had over 30 people show up for a family reunion and they were over an hour late. We didn't get into lake until 11am when we were promised 9am. They didn't deliver the 2nd jump thing they promised. Each boat had issues and the jet ski died continuously. They then treated us very rude when we tried to address the issue. Figured I owed the community the review. Even if its a bit late. Going off what Tyler posted with the broken boat.. last year we rented that exact boat.. mind you the boat pictured on the site is a newer model Yamaha or equivalent not a 20+ year run down boat. The trim when we took it out stopped working and malfunctioned so the bow of the boat was straight up in the air.. the radio wires and ignition wires as shown in the pictures were the same for us hanging down. We limped the boat back after using it for 45 minutes. Asked for a different rental said they didn't have any. Asked for refund the ladies in the office said no problem the owner/manager refused resulting in a heated argument his offer was to credit an amount for next time. I refused.. I disputed the charges minus the time used. Be careful of renting from this marina. We did file a report with Dnr to inspect the boat. read more

Totally incompetent! Made reservations for a cabin 5 months prior. We showed up 2 hours after check in time, and the place still hadn't been cleaned. Then, we realized they had switched our reservation from a cabin to a tent. The people running the desk were absolutely rude and eventually just said we couldn't have anything (which was fine with me by this time). Don't rent the jet skis... this place will take your credit card and when you are done without you knowing will charge your credit card for damages. When you ask to see the damaged part, they will take 20 mins to bring an old damage part with a rock in hand saying that they found the rock from you taking the jet ski in shallow water when in-fact you didn't go in shallow water. It's a scam. You'll have to fight the fraudulent charge. They have a fraudlent playbook to scam people out of money. Don't rent from this business. Awful experience all around!! We rented a pontoon boat while staying at Rockport State Park this weekend, and entire rental process was an absolute disaster. All boats are old and in extremely poor condition! No instruction was provided in regards to boat operation and they tried to make my 4 year old wear an adult life jacket, insisting that I try it on him before he would get a child size. When we returned to the dock with our boat we were immediately accused of causing damage, when I asked about prior damage and any documentation the employee refused to answer any questions and just walked away and returned to the marina store. When I arrived at the marina office to talk with the owner he became extremely hostile and demanded that I pay for all damage to the boat. When I asked him for proof that the damage was not there when we took the boat out, he threatened to charge my credit card $2500. read more

I would rate this '0' if I could. The owner is a complete weasel. He left us stranded in a boat that was falling apart and ran out of gas after only using it for a couple hours. The gauge didn't even show empty until it actually ran out and then he blamed it on us, made us wait for him to have a smoke break before we could even discuss the issues and then told us that not only would he not refund any money but that we would be charged an additional $150 tow fee and that if we didn't comply with all his charges he wouldn't give us back our debit card and would take us to court. This man knows absolutely nothing about business and disgusts me in every way! Not to mention his office his run by a teenager that knows absolutely nothing and has not been given any training or authority to help in any way. read more
