Walkin'-n-Waggin' - Guys, I don't think the leash is supposed to work this way...

Walkin'-n-Waggin'

Have you ever been in the middle of planning an out of town trip when you suddenly remember your…read morelittle fur-babies who need care while you're away? Do you then groan, roll your eyes, and lament over the cost of boarding them, all the while knowing they will be confused and probably uncomfortable during your absence? This is what my husband and I used to go through every time we had to travel. We have 4 animals at home. An outside dog and 3 indoor cats. (Used to be 2 dogs, we miss you, Rusty!) During our trip planning several years ago I announced to my husband we couldn't afford to go on our trip. The best boarding rate I could find was going to cost us over $1k, yes, that's one thousand dollars! (Que the Dr. Evil pinky-grin.) We just wanted to go see family for about an 8 day trip, but it was going to cost more to board our animals than it would for the two of us to get there and back! Don and Lori to the RESCUE! I found Walkin'-n-Waggin' and made a call. Don and Lori came out to my home, introduced themselves, and explained their services. When they showed me their rates, I was sure I was missing something. Seriously? Less than $300? Yup! And I have never again worried about being gone from home. Here's what you get: PEACE OF MIND! They come once or twice a day, your choice. They feed and play with all the animals, scoop litter, water plants, rotate lights, check the mail, and bring in anything that may be left on the porch like a package or the newspaper. They even make sure my garbage gets to the curb, and they bring the can back up and put it away. They're trained in First Aid for pets, and will take your pet to the vet if something happens. All this, and your fur-babies stay in their own home, sleep in their own beds, and get some peace and quiet. In the 7+ years we have used this service, we have never once worried about what was going on at home. We receive regular voicemails or text messages while we're away, and upon return my husband and I usually fuss over who gets to read the daily notes that are always left for us. The comfort of knowing our pets and our home is being looked after while we're away is priceless to us. We have never returned home to any mess or unexpected situation. Walkin'-n-Waggin' is a professional service that goes above and beyond. 5 stars is not enough to express the high quality of service and satisfaction that comes from doing business with these folks. We wouldn't dream of leaving our home for any length of time without calling them. We're lucky to have people like Don and Lori operating their business in our area.

Davidson County Animal Shelter - Their dogs are so sweet and well behaved

I adopted 2 cats in one day!! We'd met Ginger at our local PetSmart and decided to adopt. To…read morecomplete the adoption, we had to go to the shelter. While there, I decided to look at the other cats up for adoption while hubby completed our paperwork. The staff led me to a lively playroom full of beautiful cats. I asked who had been in the shelter the longest and that's when I met Camille. She'd been at the shelter for just over a year and was extremely shy. I fell in love. They offered me some one on one time with her in a small room. They were all visibly excited someone asked for a private meeting with her. Such a sweet baby, I knew I had to bring her home. We didn't bring a crate to the shelter but I assumed they'd have a cardboard box to bring her home. I was shocked when they offered to let us purchase two small plastic cat crates for $5 each. Each one was clean and hardly looked used. These were the kind of crates you'd pay $25-$30 in a pet store to get!! Camille's adoption fee was waived. They loaded up two large shopping bags to the brim with new beds, toys, food, treats, and bowls. Several staff members had tears of joy to see Camille, and Ginger, had a loving home together. It was touching to see the genuine care of the staff and volunteers had for the animals in their care. I'm so happy to report my Ginger and Camille have been with us for over a year.

They truly don't give a s*** they get paid for doing absolutely nothing. It's really unfortunate…read morethey don't follow up or follow through

MEEEE-OW!!!! These guys rock!!!…read more I am a traveling contractor who does not get the opportunity to be at home with my pets very often and the majority of that responsibility goes to my partner. With an ill pet, all you want to know is, "Is he going to be ok?" "Is she getting better?" Our pets are more than a part of our family, they ARE our family. When my pet, Sparky, became distant and annoyed, and began to eat less, he also had a growth on his chin that I could not help him with...because I am not a doctor. Ah-ha! I reached out to HOPE Animal Rescue and I can't be more grateful. They stepped in and helped get Sparky to a veterinarian within a few days, after the application process was completed, and Sparky is a HAPPY CAT. Laurel was especially helpful in that she made the process seem like there wasn't a process...even though we all know what it takes to get things done today. Feats like this are not marginal notes in life...they are magnificent, loving, caring moments in time that help us to remember, "Wow. I really don't feel so alone out here in the world." I cannot say enough about HOPE Animal Rescue. In a way, Hope Animal Rescue rescued my pet AND me, because I was so distraught over what was happening to him and the not knowing is what creates the fear. Thank you to Laurel and the entire VOLUNTEER staff and businesses that help to support Hope Animal Rescue. You rescued the best part of me today...and if you're doing that for me, I know that you're doing this for a lot of other people. THANK YOU for all of the hard work that you're doing out there for the animals that aren't a part of our health care system.

Not to mention, they gave me the absolute greatest gift and the most perfect dog. I am so grateful to them for their cooperation and haste with the adoption. They have a specific system where you submit an application, meet a dog at an event, and demonstrate considerable interest in a dog. After that, you have a home visit and you get to adopt! Our dogs foster parents came to the adoption as well. Our dog is everything I could have wanted and more. Obedient, friendly, quiet and outrageously adorable. Thanks so much Hope Animal Rescue!!!
